I did choose and I bought a GT-S Line Sportage. The interior is miles ahead of the Tuscon, although the Tuscon is perfectly fine, it's just the Sportage is more modern and just has a wow factor.
In terms of external looks could live with either and think Tuscon edges it-although a little unsure of the back of Tuscon.
Both are great cars and TBF Korean cars have come such a long way - now they will and are winning business from German/French/Italian/British brands, not because of price, more because of quality/reliability and warranties.

I tested both and they are both excellent cars but got such an amazing deal on top of the range Tucson Ultimate self charging hybrid that went for it. I’ve had BMW’s for last 10 years or more and was very impressed with the Sportage and Tucson packages that are more than capable of challenging the German premium brands nowadays

GT-Line from Kia has to be compared either to N-Line or Prime with Tucson. Media system is absolutely the same- the only difference is that in Kia both screens are under one glass and in Hyundai they are separated.

Tucson for me! The Ultimate with the tech pack so you get adjustable suspension, it makes a big difference to the ride quality (it’s not available on the Kia) plus the Tucson come with a beautiful cream leather interior which totally changes the feel of the interior! P.s that’s a Premium spec not an N-Line!!

I've had Audi's, Porsches, Mini Cooper and more recently a Jeep Wrangler, I have ordered the Kia Sportage GDi1.6T GT Line Luxury ('S' in UK) and can't wait to take delivery. Its scheduled to arrive first week of December and super excited. I test drove the Kia, the Hyundai and a Nissan X Trail - although the X-Trail was a fantastic car and super comfy and lovely to drive it didn't have all the toys of the Kia and the fuel economy wasn't anywhere near that of the Kia. I love the look of the Kia and the interior is amazing and very similar to Mercedes new interiors, which i nearly bought but opted for the Jeep Wrangler at the time. Bring it on, can't wait to be a Kia Sportage owner very soon.

The biggest difference between these two is the kit you get for your money. You can get a fully equipped Full Hybrid N-Line S or Premium Tucson (With sunroof, electric tailgate) for the same price as an MHD Sportage GT-Line (not an S, a midspec GT-Line), without all the nice to haves. If you want a similarly equipped Sportage, you are paying £3-4000 more, depending on your dealer. The Tucson is definitely better value.

I just bought a Kia Sportage. The full digital display made all the difference. Otherwise both cars have a similar performance, handling and look&feel. Oh, and the KIA GT Line does NOT compare to a VW. I would say to an Audi but with the full digital display it's like sitting in a Mercedes GLC without paying double for the brand alone.

Purchased the 2022 Ultimate Tucson Hybrid in the Amazon Grey (Signature) color. Most comments on here have chosen the Tucson over Sportage. The Sportage looks great from a distance, but not so much when you are inside it seeing the body of the car from the side mirrors. Plus, the Sportage is a bit noisy and rather a firm drive like Mazda Cx-5 while Tucson is very quite and a smooth drive and performance. I am happy with my careful selection of Tucson over the Sportage. Great video! You are such a sweet and lovely girl 😍

If only they made the Tucson with the Sportage interior and ride handling but they don't. The Hyundai look better but the Kia looks like it would work better for me, I guess that 7 year Kia warranty would sway it for the Kia subject to any silly deals for the Hyundai. For now I'll be perched on the fence between these two.

I test drove them a couple of weeks ago. There is no comparison. Kia looks great from a distance but when you get close and drive it you notice all the cheap materials and that it’s still just a kia. However I must say that the screen looks really impressive.

  • @TonyDelMonte
    @TonyDelMonte 2 года назад +8

Decent comparison, but it would be even better if you compared apples with apples. Your Kia's GT Line is the sporty trim, and your Hyundai's trim is not the sporty N Line (even though at 5:02 you say it is). This could be why you preferred the ride of the Kia.
Also, at 7:42, you say that the Tucson's 0-60 time is 8 seconds, and therefore slower than the Kia's. However, this is the official 0-62 time, so both cars have identical acceleration. This confusion between 0-60 and 0-62 is very common in the UK, and figures are often used for the wrong speed.

Tucson for me, Having driven them both, I couldn’t really distinguish much difference in the ride quality, the Tucson felt slightly more agile around town (and still good on a dual carriageway).
I liked both interiors. I have a slight preference for the Kia dashboard, but not enough to sway me when taking into account the great value for money on the Tucson, Plus I really like the cockpit design in the Tucson and the slightly larger boot.
I prefer physical buttons for AC which was the only downside for me on both cars (volume button doesn’t bother me as I always use steering wheel controls)
Using both infotainment systems on the move I actually found the separate dedicated ‘buttons’ on the Tucson fairly easy to notch the temperature up or down compared to the panel on the Kia. I do like the system on the Mazda better than either of these two systems, I finally made my decision and have ordered the Tucson

@@rc7059 I'm from Poland. The new Tucson has been immensely popular here. When I ordered the car (it's the HEV version, top trim) the wait time was about 5 months and there was no problem with deliveries. However, around June things started to get worse - especially with HEVs. I was supposed to get the car at the beginning of October at the latest but it looks I'm going to celebrate a one-year anniversary of my order soon. I would have canceled it, but I like the car and I don't see any sensible alternatives. By the way, if I ordered a new car now, I'd have to wait at least 5-6 months anyway. There are literally hundreds of people like me in Poland who ordered their Tucsons last year (mostly HEVs) and are still waiting. Very frustrating!

They have the same engine, drivetrain, safety features and warranty, so apples to apples (Sportage SX-Prestige Hybrid vs. Tucson Limited Hybrid US models) the Sportage has a better setup/interior (larger screens), heated front windshield, a spare tire (that nobody mentions in these comparisons but you'll notice when you have an issue), USB C connections, rear USB connections on first-row seats that are easily accessible for rear passengers (vs. off floor in center console that few can reach without taking off seatbelt), 10-way power seat driver side (vs. 8), fog lights, and rear turn signals up higher where everyone expects/wants (safer). I personally think the Sportage looks better on exterior too but admit that is subjective. I've driven both, and both are very good and a better value and experience than competition (and even some luxury models), but objectively the Sportage is better at this time.

Kia all the way…I’ve had a Sportage crdi (purchased in 2010 in New Zealand) and I finally traded it for an e-Niro EV which is providing more great service. On a silly note I struggle with owning a car brand that reminds me of ‘Harry High Pants’… Hyundai (High undies) … silly me.

The Sportage exterior is a bit too radical/strange design for me, really depends on personal pref I guess; have the full load Tuscon ordered 🙂

The video is very well produced, Rebecca knows a lot about cars, presents very well, but her presence alone makes the video incredibly satisfying to watch.
About the cars, I like them both a lot, but I prefer a sedan in my garage. Yes baby, thank you!

Gee Rebecka I see fashions have gone back to the '70's as believe this or not I used to wear trousers similar to them pants your wearing in this video, except mine started out as yellow, till I bleached them and finished up a shading of yellow to white.
Cars wise I'd go for the Kia Sportage but then I'm not into SUV's of any size or make.

Great review as always Rebecca 😃 You can tell you're still a regular at the gym 💪
Car wise- I would go for the Kia Sportage. Seriously considering the GT Line-S HEV version as my next lease car.

Why do British people have a pressing need to periodically blast really loud music in their videos? It's a really stupid trend that needs to go the way of the dodo.
