Ground almonds use in Italian almond or pistachio cookies!! Don't need to soak the almonds! Been making my salt free plain almond milk for years! Your combo minus salt for me would make a cool frozen style dole whip!! YUM! ❤ Also, easy cleaning tip, store in a large mason jar with straight sides! Easier to scrub the almond's oils out! Drain and Squeeze your nuts! 😂
You can get sieves fine enough to strain the chunky bits out. I got some for straining the okara or hull bits from my soypot produced soy milk. They are pricey and hard to find but if you are making a lot of nut milk or bean milk, worth the investment. I bought a Joyoung Japanese made soypot. It allows me to make daily fresh soy milk (I also make my own tofu) and cashew milk (1 cup cashews and unfiltered, hot, is absolutely comfort food in a cup). If you are using 1.5 liters a day, your own soypot (mine has a menu to make several things) sourcing bulk quality ingredients will actually save you measurable amounts of money in a month. Making an occasional batch of almond nut milk like this is fine. If you are making it daily, look at the soypot route as an overall time and work reduction as well as a more budget friendly option. I paid for the pot over buying my nutmilk and beanmilk at the store including the cost of ingredients used, in three weeks. Only thing, if you start to make hot milks, especially with a soypot, get a borosilicate pitcher to pour the finished product into. Pit the pitcher on a potholder before filling. Borosilicate glass can take the thermal shock. Thank you for your neat simple videos in cooking stuff!

This whole time I've been milking almonds one at a time. This will save my fingertips for sure. 🐄
Pro Tip: Peel them before blending. I find the milk is better that way when you strain it. The nut will literally pop out of the skin after they soak.
Nice tip. Would you say it’s more flavourful since the skin leaves a weird taste? Or is it purely because it makes straining easier?

And almond skin has tannins that are harmful. Better to used blanched almonds or remove the skins yourself
It’s soooo time consuming that way, though.
