I have a delay on my stream that is very noticeable. Is there a common fix for a delay for this streaming application? And does it matter what capture card I use for the delay?

@@wyattzx I've set the video size to 1920x1080, the aspect ratio is 16:9. The capture (output) is coming from a TV that is 1920x1080, and the input is a monitor that is 2560x1440, I assume that's the issue perhaps. Thanks for your reply.

The parenthesis are a part of my capture card's name, so that's why I included it. You'll want to use the exact name of your card, which may or may not include parenthesis.
Does the capture card need to be plugged into the pc or the monitor? Because either way, it doesn’t show up for me. I have tried tried the power cable going in from the capture card to the pc too. I have an AverMedia 2 Plus Live Gamer Portable. Edit: I was able to get it to show up when I plugged only the power cable into the pc, it showed the video device name as Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus but in audio device name the only thing that showed up was Microphone (Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus) my HDMI goes from my Switch into the AverMedia capture device and the output from that is going into my tv.
if i wanted the shortcut to include my setting of the framerate to be at 30 fps, how would i need to type it? :dshow-input-frame-rate=30 or :dshow-frame-rate=30 don't seem to work

Okay so I plugged an HDMI from Switch dock to the "In" HDMI port in the XR1 Lite capture card, connected my monitor (VGA) to the HDMI "out" port of the capture card, and plugged in the included USB-type C adapter into my computer. I have this issue that when streaming through VLC from my capture card, I get really low fps and it comes across very blurry and laggy, until I change the aspect ratio. Because this is just an application being shared on Discord (no different than any other game) you will simply use your same input/output devices for your mic/headphones. Select your desired input for your mic and desired output for your headphones from the top of the Voice & Video page.

Unfortunately it is, yes. You need a means to take the signal outputted by the Switch and feed it into your PC. The only way to do this is through a capture card or custom Switch dock with a capture card built in.

The Nintendo Switch (its dock) should be plugged into the Input of your capture card, and then the output should be plugged in to your TV. Then connect the card to your PC via USB. The idea is to send the dock's signal through the card and capture it before it arrives at your TV.
I fixed that part by setting my cache to 1000 and fps to 60, i set it by going through the bottom text until it says smth like dshow-fps=0 and i add a 6 before the 0. But i cant play the game well still personally bc the inouts are lagging while the visuals are smooth

This is due to the cache setting, so make sure it's set to 0 in VLC. If it's still too delayed for you after that, you'll need either a capture card with smaller delay, or to go the splitter route which will forego the ability to stream to Discord.
my game is being played at a very low frame rate but it doesn’t have the same issue with obs. i would use obs but i’m struggling with getting the audio and video in sync and it’s extremely frustrating. if someone can help with either of those issues pls replyyyy!

My capture card isn't showing on Device Selection, for neither video or audio. I know the device is working because it works in OBS and Elgato's streaming software. I have the Elgato Game Capture HD60. Do you have any insight?
The XR1 Pro shows up conveniently because it's a "UVC" or "USB Video Class" device, which means when plugged in, it's treated more or less like a webcam. The Elgato Game Capture HD60 may not be showing up because it uses Elgato's software. I will look further into this.

The delay will be due to a convocation of your capture card's latency and the caching in VLC. Make sure the caching is set to 0.

Make sure you have it plugged in over USB 3, otherwise it's bandwidth-limited to 720p.
What do you mean by USB 3? I’m kind of new to all this so I’m not quite sure that that means.😅
It needs it be plugged into a USB 3.0 port on your PC, which are typically blue, or at labeled as USB 3.

If you mean the frame rate, then try manually setting it to 60 FPS. If you mean it's delayed, make sure caching is set to 0.
