Nintendo really needs to catch up to be livestreaming-friendly.
You'd think a company who's killing it financially would implement features that other game companies have long established.
I mean Nintendo has always been a bit behind when it comes to online capabilities. I mean you just have to look at how bad playing Smash Bros online is to see they don't put online capabilities as a high priority.
Tbh Nintendo needs to catch up with a lot of stuff but they probably care more about games then the *e x p e r i e n c e*
Nintendo has banked so much money that they can run a deficit of $200mil for like 30 years. They'll only do something if it's a new gimmick, saves face or someone really high up wants to do it.
tbh if they did do all of that then they'd be more rich because a lot of youtubers use nintendo switch

I just want to play my switch on pc and be able to alt tab without spending too much... I just like making my life complicated by trying to make it simpler. I wanna hear both sources too at the same time.
It's £120 now but there is now a newer one which looks useful for PS5 games.

Thank you. I searched through a lot of haystacks to find this needle. Sharp and to the point is what you are. I now know what equipment I need (definitely the stuff from the start... newbie that I am) and feel like I gained some good basic knowledge on streaming a game. This was SUB worthy!
The advice to build it up slowly is EXCELLENT advice, as it allows you to also make intelligent purchases that are geared for *your* needs. You can afford to make a few bad choices when it's in the realm of $50-$150 for ill-fitting gear instead of $400++. :)

This is actually really helpful. I'm a low-budget gamer who over a few years has accumulated an Audio Techica AT2020 mic with a small mixer for it, and HP Pavilion laptop, OBS, and a couple other things, but now, streaming and recording seems to be within my reach, and while it might not work how I want it to, going forward with this knowledge will definitely help. Thank you.

exactly. this makes PS4 and XBOX even more amazing on a technical standpoint. imagine consoles can record or livestream natively. no stupid shenanigans and added cost.

Oh man, thank you so much for mentioning playing audio through the computer. I was looking into what capture card I should get, and one the biggest things I had trouble finding information about was being able to voice chat through discord while streaming/recording gameplay.
I love the elgato HD60 S. It takes so much stress off of my PC as I'm recording and Instant Gameplay is incredible. Thanks so much for the video. I followed it step by step and got to recording switch gameplay in no time.

5:04 you can actually avoid plugging headphones into any other device besides the computer with the Elgato software (or OBS). Elgato software (Game Capture HD) allows audio passthrough from the device, just increase the volume under "game audio". OBS you go to advance audio settings and set the Elgato to listen and output and it allows you to do both

I’ve been using a USB headset. Was wondering why there hasn’t been sound in my streams.
This is the first video that I can understand when it comes to beginner level streaming.
I've been wondering how I could stream and just play on the big tv while sitting on my couch, instead of sitting with 2 monitors behind my desk.
Now I also wonder, is it better to have a laptop near for the chat or are there any other tricks and tips u can use while strating to stream?

One more important thing I didn’t know about is that you need to link your stream key from the streaming platform of your choice to the program you stream with. Sometimes the programs simply let you just log into your streaming platform account, but stream keys are pretty standard. You shouldn’t share your stream key with anyone or else they will be able to stream on your account.

I tried to use the iPad for recording switch gameplay, works till the GB space is over used, so not a lot of time used, so this stuff can help, so thanks, I hope when I can get the stuff and put it all together. I hope people like you can enjoy the gameplays I’ll make with it.
