Cs_Mansion, despite being a rough looking map, it was quite popular in the internet cafes back in the 2000s. Hell, it was more iconic than its remake cs_estate. Out of all the maps in the video, cs_tire, as_forest, cs_wpndepot and es_jail are my favorites and they could have easily made it in the retail version of the game. Besides, you're doing a hell of a job with the CS content DeZ.

And I don't how to explain it but, there was an application/install wizard option with the 1.6 install wizard which just added nearly 2-300 weird, goofy, buggy and seriously made maps. And I can confidently say that Estate is better than Mansion. 😂😂
It would be interesting to talk about zombie mode and zombie escape maps, their details and such. If you ever played those back in the day, hella nostalgic

I am working on a 90s Action film C.S 1.6 using all the various skin and weapon mods that I find suitable for that era, urban camo etc. Both of your deleted maps videos showed me some incredibly fitting maps, like foption, zoption, wpndepo, de_prodigy and so on. So I want to thank you for making these videos! P.S You should make a video about the 747 Maps. de_747 and cs_74 . I have even managed to fix the nav files for de_747.

My fixes are uploaded to Gamebanana. I've already finished some, but I’ll be doing way more. Out of the problems that I unfortunately have no skills to fix are 2 p files for guns.

I love how you end your videos. If I could only ever play one map, I reckon cs_mansion might be my choice. I used to love the challenge of trying to get out of ct spawn and sneak through the hedges, specially when the other team had some decent players watching from the windows. The other fun strat was to just go full alpha yolo and climb up the ladders onto the wall or bhop straight to the front door and spam that doorbell. Good times.
Really fond memories of playing this in late 1999, through 2000 on UK Wireplay servers. Used to get a really good crowd playing, some intense but often funny games. I even joined a clan, briefly. Good times.

So never had a pc and never saw any form of fps game. My mum n dad split up and my dad moved to a flat and his next door neighbours kid had a pc and showed me counterstrike. I have never been so mind blown in my life when seeing cs tundra for the first ever time. We played for days from then on right through to 1.6 on servers and watched cs grow I just want to say thanks for bringin back fond and nostalgic memories . The late 90s . What a time to be alive !
cs_mansion is legendary. Despite being removed in beta, it was extremely popular well into cs 1.6. I remember tons of servers ran this map even in 2010s. Hell, I bet if I open cs 1.6 now, I'll find a bunch of cs_mansion servers.
The car test one was in my old map pack, so it isn't a dream... Now i must find the garbage disposal map, and another one i don't seem to get a hold yet on my mind.. Also in 10:13 i think it's xena (obviously not the ps1 but the live action i guess)
I like most parts where you do funnies so um, btw, the map wpndepot has made a port in GMod last year and it kinda looks similar except on extra details here which he made it an remaster so it looks incredibly better for me

These maps were awesome. I have no idea why people come at judging the maps as imbalanced, confusing. That was part of the skill involved: maximizing ones advantages if on a disadvantaged side, then seeing who had more mettle being on the disadvantaged side. If map x favored terrorists tremendously, then whatever team had the most wins on ct position was clearly the better team when comparing turns being taken on either side.
I reminds me of the old WW2 mod Day of Defeat, where a bunch of the maps were unbalanced - on purpose! When you broke through a ridiculous strong defense it was very satisfying.
I am decently sure the poster in wpndepot is of xena the warior princess also if you'd like a free vid idea, how about the popular unofficial maps? Like westwood for one
Damn, I remember almost all of these. Played each new beta with anticipation back in the day. cs_prison was the first map ever and it barely worked. Beta 1 was barely playable (and nobody played,) I thought CS was just another shitty amateur mod at the time but it was unique and ambitious. When de_dust came out maybe beta 4 it was it totally changed the game, even how shitty the design was.
While I remember playing every map from the previous video, the only one I remember from this bunch is Forest - and it was so janky at the time that I thought it was a custom map! It makes me wonder when I started playing. I thought late '99 but maybe it was very early 2000s? Too bad, there's some interesting ones here.
good old CS 1.1 days... 1.1.1.1, 1.1.1.2 they really went hard on the dots. IIRC you only needed to save half (or maybe 3/4) of the hostages, so in a pinch you could just kill the rest and win the round

Actually bro you didnt download the sky for the map de_fang. It should not open the map but because the map doesnt have a .res file it just twiches to the default sky that is the half life sky. There is a de_fang_lite that is basically the map but simpler. Also it is made by the same guy who made DE_NUKE so YEAH
