Hells Revenge In The Snow

- We received a call about a 4runner that had rolled on Hells Revenge Trail in the snow. We loaded up Trailmater and Wile E for support and headed in. Once we got to the vehicle we got it flipped over and pulled up to level ground. We then cleaned up the area, hooked it up and carried it out to the shop. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.
Salt Lake Offroad Expo is February 24th and 25th 2023.

I can’t thank you guys enough for your help earlier this week. Made a crappy day a lot less crappy. You handled the recovery like it was your own car and saved me from doing a lot of extra body work this spring.
Sorry about your truck man. You handled it well tho.
Glad you were ok, and I must say there was a lot less damage than I expected to see for something that went over like that
Just shows that cage you added did it’s job to keep you safe and damage to a minimum
You certainly made the right call by getting Rory to get you out 👍
Poor girl was getting wearisome if you looked too close. Rusting in spots that are a pita to repair. Was going to need repainted and possibly a cab swap eventually so it is what it is. I’ll keep the skins for a tube buggy but it may get a cab swap soon.
@@bryanhousley7014 great opportunity to record the restoration for RUclips
I have an 84 SR5 and live in the rustbelt. I'm super jealous of you S.W. vehicle owners! 🤣 Yours definitely looks well worth the work to fix it back up. Glad to see no injuries also. 👍
The Diamond Bill Rock Pecker did it again.
I got my wife with that story 😆
Tell your friends, tell your mother, tell everyone this is one of the best recovery channels there is !!!
I totally agree. I love this channel. These guys are awesome. I think everyone should watch it. Not only do you learn from these guys they make you laugh, they make you cry and most of all they make us proud of them. God bless them and keep them safe.
❤️🙏🙏👍👍🌟🏆❤️
Amen!
No friends. Mom died. Can I tell you?
Oh ya he's already won the tow truck Olympics he dose it everyday lol 😂😂
It’s my favourite of the channels i know of
'Looks like every other Toyota in Califonia' Best line ever. That dude was cool;; knew he wrecked his rig, saw it come up with repairable damage and took like a champ. You gotta pay to play sometimes and he get it. Right on.
Now he can turn it into a buggy and Noone will ask why 😅
Glad the Diamond Billed Rock Peckers are still alive and well.
I started watching matts off road recovery first then fab rats then Robby Layton then last but not least trailmater and out of you all this has become my most watched channel as Rory’s charm is so mesmerising 😂 no really you 3 guys work so well together x
Lol me too! Same order!
@@nanettebarling1222 it’s Rory’s charm isn’t it and all of them are so real, there not there playing to the camera x
Same order for me as well 😅
Same here! Same path and same destination! I still watch the other three but I love the technical complexity, Rory’s skill, and the Moab geography.
Thanks everyone, we really appreciate all of you watching. Without you guys, we wouldn't be able to do this.
It is said it's about driver more than equipment. This is a perfect example.
You can't buy skill but if you work hard enough you can buy dual cases, bigger tires, etc.
Trail Mater is the coolest squarebody truck ever. Period.
I was uncomfortable, but went with you anyway 😃
Mike totally should have left that guy believing Diamond Billed Rockpeckers were real! Kudos on a great recovery. Not used to seeing Rory that concerned, but that concern was justified. And thoughts and prayers for Rory's hand. Glad you didn't bleed out on the way back into town.
that dude was so shaken up from the crash that I dont think he really even heard or comprehended what Mike said.
Man, that 4 runner was such a bad ass rig. He'll get it back together, but damn that's a sick truck!
My wife just burst out laughing when you talked about the rock pickers:)
Man I remember seeing this trail on youtube like 10 years ago and thought I didn't even wanna go on it when it was dry. Good thing guy had a legit caged 4runner
That looked like a nice little truck. Glad the guy didn't get hurt 🤕. Great content guys 😊. Thanks 👍.
Tough ride for sure. I was impressed it didn't break the windshield. Adjust the headlights, blow the oil out of the cylinders and it should be good for the road.
@@larrybe2900 the windshield was broken.
I thought sooner or later it may get dull watching all the recoveries. Boy was I wrong. Another great recover. At least the customer was in a good frame of mind about it. Lots of work ahead of him instead of being out wheeling. The way Trail Mater just keeps on plugging away, GM should sponsor you for showing the durability of their trucks. Thanks for sharing
FO-FI-FO can GO!
SQUARE BODY'S RULE !
Holy Jesus not only did you get there in those conditions that had rory looking concerned for the first time I've seen.
But wow you towed them back down safely.
There is no competition for tow truck games you guys are and always will be at the top of the field
Do you ever turn down a job due to condition? Putting them off till it clears up at least? Here in Idaho we tend to go get things after it freezes good for a few hours or overnight, we get better traction & don't sink into the mud & the snow/ice gets a bit sticky.
True Statement there brother thats a Fact
It ought to be "The Mike & Shawn Show" in Ole Blue competing in the Games! Rory & TrailMater are in a class by themselves!!
@@richardraleigh6490 that Sir is a GREAT IDEA 👍👍 1st & 2nd Place is Allways a Fine thing !!!
Team TrailMater! #1
I cant believe you only have 161k on this channel, you deserve so much more..
11:30 drop on the east coast most of us are sleeping so turn it down and turn off the lights.
Wel said
A lot of people don't like truth and reality anymore......and since the content in Rory's videos is the opposite of content on The Discovery Channel, it scares thems deep down in the fee fees!!!😳😲😬
😜🤭😆😂
The more I watch Rory and his crew perform their magic and professionalism the more I love this channel…
Agreed more people should be watching this. I like MORR and I live in hurricane area but your recoveries are another whole level. Sand hollow is the kiddie pool compared to moab area.
That 4runner looks pretty serious, hope it can be saved.
Any Vehicle Can Be Saved Just Depends On How Much Time And Money You Want To Put Into Something
I get the impression sometimes that people expect their flipped over vehicles to be turned upside right without further damage.
Something tells me that dude has the skill set to bring that Forerunner back.
That was me in the runner. Your comment made my day. Pretty confident she will be looking better than before the end over by summer.
@@bryanhousley7014 heck yeah glad to hear it!
It so impressive that you are able to find traction in these conditions.
Heading off was one of the first time Rory looked legitimately concerned
He needs his off pavement card revoked
@@SoDogtravels I would say for you to see those conditions for yourself and THEN talk but since I know you'd do as bad, or worse and someone would have to rescue YOU, please instead just stay in your basement and comment your heart out.
Yes , i noticed that too ,
And good on him for that. Retired Healthcare, did transport and code teams adult, pediatric, neonatal. First lesson was don't risk the lives of the team on a call. Remember this is dealing with rescue of a person. Not a truck. There's no vehicle worth recovering that risks the safety or life of the team. Weather conditions can be a huge no go factor. It's a pile of metal and plastic. Wait for better conditions if warranted. You can't take back a bad decision that gets someone hurt or killed.
Does he still get royalties from Tow Mater?
"Free topper delete!"...hahahahahaha
Rory righted that truck like nothing. Its like his brain computes the exact points of where to attach onto instantly. Rory should write a book on off road recovery. Great job Rory and crew.
Yeah, matt would have a very hard time beating him with years of experience using this wrecker.
@@TheSiprianus EXCEPT, Matt is making the rules as they go 😆
@@bluegrallis Just watched their recent video. Look out for the concrete filled car Rory!
Wow it went over real gently. Clean up on Hells Revenge.
be ready , after tow truck compeeetition. this channel gonna blow UP.
Let's hope... they all deserve it. Rory and Trail Mator are Ledgends. 😁👍👍💪💪💪
You guys are nuts. Good for you for saving this dudes bacon.
I finally learn't the don't do it rule. Almost 90 % of the time.
I liked how the guy was glad to be keeping you busy! Lol!
Holy cow, Rory! You have the necessary set of skills, knowledge, and courage. WOW!
Not only that but he's in the SPECIAL PANTS 👖 hall of fame.
I think Matt's got his hand full.
I've been on that it ruff even under good conditions . My hats off to you guys 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I’ve seen bits of that 4 runner being built up and it was stunning before the accident. Glad Bryan walked away okay and that was a solid recovery
I can not believe you went up there under those conditions. That almost happened to me once in Tennessee, and I avoided flipping over by slamming on the gas. I figured it was better to hit a tree than slide down the mountain upside down. I didn't hit anything though.
I'm so happy that young man didn't get seriously hurt while out playing with his off road truck.
This brings the term 'When Hell Freezes Over' to a brand new level!!!
Just watching them on video drive over those ice covered slick rock portions at such steep angles scares the twinkies out of me!!!🤯
Scaring the twinkies out of you has got to be better than scaring the tootsie rolls out of you. ; )
@@theoriginallael3548 Yeah but tootsie rolls are smaller displacement and wouldn't hurt as much!!
the most insane rescue yet
Always the Best off road recover Rory Irish is the man
"I don't know if I'm gonna make it,if I don't nobody gets my truck"!!! Trailmater is his baby
There aren’t to many Barbie trails in Moab when it’s snowing. Y’all are amazing!
Do they ever get much more than a dusting of snow?
It is amazing to me that you are able to go where you go in such adverse weather conditions. I did this Jeep BoH Trail on July 7, 2022. It was a warm, sunny day. It was ENOUGH for me on that day. I see you on the snowy wet rock and I can recall those familiar trail locations and I am just Amazed how you just keep it together (vertical). 🙌 Not Worthy.
Again - you guys are freakin' angels, the Angels of Moab, descending out of the mist and clouds to save wayward adventurers. Another good job, hopefully there's another 4-runner top out there somewhere for this guy's chariot. I always liked those early 4-runners. Glad the driver is ok! A forward endo is a once in a lifetime event!
Trail mater business as usual all the way up to the wrecker games. True work horse!
those mirrors are actually pretty great - perfect for a tow truck !
"You've got a lot of nice part there", alotta fat good that helped. Weather has a way of taking nice things and deem them USELESS.
Dangerous work accomplished masterfully. The Toyota truck will live again thanks to installing the roll cage. It saved that driver’s life.
It is amazing where you can go when all locked up, good tires and a driver that understands throttle control and momentum to find traction.
That's right Mike! We need to inform more people about the pesky Diamondbilled rock peckers! They are tearing Moab apart!
Whoa … that’s a deep hole 🫣
I love it when Mike talks to a stranger "So we got these birds out here." Hilarious!!
Kudos to camera work by Mike (and the editing ) for creating a little drama on the drive in. This rescue had the perfect balance of tension from the weather, great visuals, and enough complexity to show off Rory's experience and skills. Add a warm cup of coffee and an easy chair and I'm entertained!
The view down the winch line was a little spooky.
I honestly Believe this is the first time I’ve ever seen Rory this concerned 0:06 starting at this timeline.
He knew it was gonna be slick and dangerous so he just wanted his crew to know to let him know when they were at their limit.
Bummer. Nice truck with the shiny side down. Rory and the team, once again did a recovery in a controlled and successful way. Scary but money in the bank.
It is so kind and thoughtful of you to thank viewer that comment. Class act. Thank you.
Awesome job Rory and Shawn and Mike
That... is one nicely set up TOYOTA !!! Hey guys... PLEASE stop dropping so much editing on the floor 🙏🙏☺ We likenLove riding along and hanging out with you guys !!! Your HD Camara is awesome and and... The surroundings are just epic beautiful !!! And a big thinks for *Keeping It Real !!!* ... yeah, that means no dang music !!!
Thanks for bringing us along!
Watching these helps keep my desires in line with reality
This landscape covered in snow and grey clouds above it make it look a lot more violent.
Rory has balls off steel.
Glad you where able to get to them. Sorry I delayed you a few minutes. Snow & Slickrock is dangerous. Awesome recovery.
Thanks for the video Rory great job getting it done. Take care of yourself and family and be Blessed ❤️❤️
Mike is my hero today just because he's the only person I've heard on TV/youtube the last 5 years say "Cavalry" and not "Calvary". Well done as usual Guys! Risky business in that weather.And... Diamond Billed Rockpeckers Rule!
Feel bad for Forerunner Man. That classic looked to be in pristine condition AND fully worked. Chalk up another outstanding recovery for the Saint’s of Moab.
What a GREAT WAY to spend a day at "making it work "
Rory, " Shawn, let's haul ass around before there's any more snow on the rocks" true sense of urgency.
Bummed for the Toyota and driver, glad he wasn't hurt, and that would be my Singular thought, to work all winter on my truck. Man, it was a cherry 1st gen with all the mods.
Well that was a nice rig.
Once again, Rory and Trailmater save the day. Sounds like a boring description of a not boring show!
Not sure exactly why someone would want to go play there in that weather. Nice recovery guys, glad Rory didn't bleed out on the way home.
Amazing, good job fellas👍🏼
A very well built Toyota. Lucky it wasn't wet and slippery! Well Done ALL. Gotta watch for those 'Sidehill Gougers' too. And Marmots.
That poor first Gen. Hey my company sells those mirrors! Can I send you one?
IKR. She actually looks like she took it about as well as you could possibly expect though for having gone ass over teaketttle. Definitely going to be a jack stand queen for a bit though. I can only imagine how much of a hot commodity those toppers are nowadays, going to sting the pocketbook.
Yes, send him one!👍
Nice work, Rory & crew! Rear View 5-Panel Mirrors available at Summit racing for only 17.99!
Rory said "If there is anything anybody doesn't feel comfortable with, don't do it.", yet I couldn't quit watching. That ride in looked treacherous and towing that rig out was worse. Thanks for sharing another amazing recovery. Your extensive experience and skill make it look easy, but let the brave among you be warned: Don't try this at home!
What you least like to do, done best. No fuss, just professional, efficient, safe. The whole crew. 👉💯
Wow. That was a bit of a banger! And a supreme display of skill both on the wheel and on the hook. Nice work, gentlemen. That guy was a little too bummed for the rock pecker bit. Oh well. At least everyone was ok.
Another great recovery. Me thinks that the "Topper Delete" wasn't exactly free and hopefully I won't every have to find out!
Rory, you guys must have ice in your veins to crawl that wet and snowy sandstone for any reason. I have a lot of respect for you personally and your skill at recovering people in distress. Well done. Again.
Incredible. The Trail Mater team is amazing.
You guys could be my family. That’s what makes your stuff fun to watch. When you start acting- you lose me. The whole gang there is just genuinely a group of people who are just doing what they do. I don’t have the answers as to what makes interesting content or not but you guys are just fun to giggle and point at. Be safe
Lizzy has to be one of the worst when it comes down to it.
@@iffykidmn8170 lol, jeez, stick to this channel...
@@BitBuhkit Yep all the adlibbing seems to be working for some reason on Matts channel for me piss poor acting is piss poor acting.
I bet that was an adrenaline felt ride for real you made it look easy flipping that truck over great job guys and God bless
You guys are amazing! That was the worst conditions to be out in the worst area to do a recovery but y'all pulled it off. Bravo! gentlemen.
Another great recovery! I can't believe anyone has been out on the trails with all the snow we've had here recently!
If you ever have a particularly interesting recovery, call me and I can come fly my drone and get you some sick footage!
Nice recovery, looks like it was a really nice rig before the endo
He must be feeling awful, that didn't come cheap or easy
agreed, hate to see that happen to a classic old rig
I don't even like Yotas and I felt bad for the loss of that one. It can be saved, but it won't be as clean again. I think the owner was still a bit in shock!
Sweet rig now looking a little "down in the mouth".....
@@motardmike He just needs to "turn that frown upside down!".
Too soon? 🙃🤣
That was a Rescue Mission 💯% with Driver Mod . Great Team 👍🏾
Good stuff. We need a Trail Mater 360 cam.
Casey Ladelle uses them with some really good results, I agree!
I'm glad I don't live where they call" Hell's Revenge", a Barbie Trail. But when the suns out it sure is awesome to look at.
Amazing how the terrain takes on a completely different personality with a weather change. This is where experience shows itself, & you 3 are about as good as it gets! Thanks for taking us along.....
Mike is so funny. He said, "there's so many smells", hahaha. Kudos to Rory, Mike and Shawn for a job well done. God bless you guys for being diligent doing what you're doing. Take care now!
Hells bells I love your sense of humour especially when Mike casually says "the weather outside is frightful" love the videos 🤣🥰
Always wanted to go to Moab, but have just never seemed to be able to make the 500 or so mile trip so thank you for showing me the trails
Another gnarly recovery made to look simple by the Moab Masters! Great job team.
I feel for this dude he had a nice rig, looks like it done quite a bit of damage to the frame
Friday morning Trailmater. It doesn't get any better.
I think you just won the Tow Truck Olympics before it started. And it's always to hear that the Diamond Bill Rockpecker is healthy and thriving
excellent content , glad that guy was alright, even though you all made it look easy I am sure it was quite sketchy .
Probably my favorite channel, guys.
Between the shots of actual wheeling, the real life dynamic y'all have, and the righteous shots of the landscape, I look forward to every video.
And Trail Mater is my pic for the Tow Truck Olympics.
🤯 Incredible 💪💪💪 another epic recovery!!
Impressive!
**I JUST KNEW THIS RED TRUCK WOULD FALL OVER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE - - - BUT IT DIDN'T!!!**
**~~~~~>>>>>RORY'S TEAM IS AMAZING
Thanks Guys
Rory, you are truly the Wizard of Winching. You flipped that Toyota back over so gently as to not do further damage. Quite a skill and you have mastered it. Great recovery in a very treacherous situation. Well done!
You should have a disclaimer Shaun that there were injured in this video 1 pair of pants and a pair of boots were defiled in this video production Haha 😄
Been watching your channel for a while now and been following this Runners build since 2009 which was two owners ago. Bryan turned this Runner into a gem since he has owned it. He put a lot of work into it so it was hard to think what he was feeling. Great work as usual. Keep up the good work!
