It's worth mentioning that you can level up a weapon without using it. Say you don't like double barreled shotguns, if you have it in your secondary slot it will level up as you use your primary and sidearm.
When you reach expertise level 14 or so, you're going to hit a brick wall because you're going to be getting mostly duplicates of things you've already made proficient. Then it comes down to donating materials. But, before you scrap everything and donate the materials, see if you have a blueprint for the item you need to level up. Crafting an item and donating it whole gets you way more proficiency than donating the same raw materials. Also, don't use your scavenger points to get printer filament for donations. Use the points for credits. Then buy skill mods to dismantle for printer filaments. I'll use bigger numbers to make my point easier to see. Say you have enough scav points to get enough printer filament to get 60 proficiency levels. If you buy mods instead, you can dismantle them for enough filament for 72 proficiency levels. I don't suggest doing this all at once though. I know from personal experience that we're talking about 4,000 mods. That's 8,000 taps of the space bar or whatever controller button is used. But if you have 25 points, get credits and buy mods. There's no limit to how many skill mods you buy at a time. The game auto dismantles duplicates and gives you the filaments instead. I spent 17,000,000 credits on mods in one shot. It took well over an hour. lol...
@@ArnoldPswagga Ignore my reply. It was around 75 proficiency levels. It would have been 60 if I'd gone fore printer filament instead of credit. 17M gets you about 3800 mods which are 6 filaments each. But like I said, it takes forever to buy nearly 4K mods.

Fastest way to level up expertise is to create 3 new agents in addition to your main charector and play through the New York storyline. At the end, after you defeat Keaner you're level 40 and are awarded points that you can use to purchase printer fillament and donate it. You have to share materials between each agent. 4 Directives on Challenging run a status effect build with Vile, and Scorpio. For XP farm. For the high lvl agents running WONY mules, spend scav points all on Printer Filaments after buying the shared blueprint and level up as needed. I know when I was just starting I ran an absurd amount of countdown lol

A little correction you just need 4 pieces of gear sets & 3 pieces of regular brand sets. Can always dump armor parts and weapon parts toward expertise yes it cost more but no reason to have 9999 of each as you cant collect more once maxed cheaper alternative is printer filament once you hit around 1.2k SHD level you cant start doing mule runs making a new character and do the WONY DLC at the end you'll have points to dump into materials

Also, the Devs altered the XP gains a while back. Resource Convoys aren't the highest net gains anymore. Now it's Control Points (for longer engagements) and Propaganda Broadcasts (for shorter engagements.) Technically Settlement Blockades net more, but those very rarely pop up. Don't forget to reset your map to do each task over and over again.
Public Executions net more than the Propaganda Broadcasts. By a fair bit if you're running multiple directives. And Settlement Blockades yield about as much as a CP but obviously don't appear very often.

"For weapons increased expertise improves handling, accuracy, stability, and other stats, making the weapon more effective..." Hold up I thought it only gives you 1% more weapon damage. Since when did it improve the handling of the weapon as a whole? Aka the handling, stability, and accuracy?
Let me clarify something that you said. It's not really about the category of weapon type. It's about the specific weapon eg StElmos, rather than the assault rifle category. You rank up faster if in a group of four than three.
Actually the best way to farm levels is challenging 3 directives on control points like falling crane, use a skill build and post up in the balcony across the street, takes 2-3 minutes to clear, reset the control point after you clear it. You'll level up much faster vs. the alternative.
Hi Sword. Love the video. Very short but packed with info. I appreciate the efficiency so you got a sub. Your skill build is confusing to me lol - I'd be curious to know your rationale on some of the pieces.
Is the best idea once you have an item profitent (cant spell it) to find two that are now and work on getting them profitent. Like an AR and SMG combo. Aswell as gear sets. Love the vids
I am finding i am stuck at 5% weapon damage for a while now and thats what i have most of my favorite weapons at for now. Once i get an new AR, SMG or LMG profitent i then find one thats not and use that in gameplay as much as i can. Im finding its taking forever to raise my expertise level.
really useful info thank you.... I have a question for you please - can you tell me how to tell if your main charecter ever purchased the shared materials - My 2nd and 3rd charecters did. but if my main charecter goes to INYA there are no BP or shared materials to purchase should i delete my main charecter and make my 2nd charecter my new main agent ??
I appreciate the video, but nowhere have you explained what I came here for, and that is, how do I get my expertise level past 1 to upgrade further, because all I'm getting is a message saying "Insufficient Expertise Level" and I can upgrade or donate further to anything I use as I'm maxed 1 on everything I use
Hello Sword. Hello Prajna. Another great guide video. I barely know how to use the expertise on the tinkering bench, a few times I accidentally got rid one of my exotics while trying to increase the proficiency of it, big mistake lol. Now after seeing this guide, I'll be more careful.
Solid content, but I believe increasing the expertise on a weapon only ups the specific item's dmg. And for gear, it only increases the item's armor. Both are based on the item's base stat, so gear is less important as it's not the total armor pool. It would be nice if handling/stability/accuracy and gear/brand bonuses also were impacted, but that'd break the game. I'm max Expertise on lots of items - SHD level 9k
Good to see a woman explaining stuff. From the time this expertise started. I use every AR . Every skills. Only thing I donate stuff on was snipers and exotic I ( raid) I didn't have . I know of the odd player not on 25 yet. One won't listen. He just donate
As a day one and beta player for both Div titles, i really didn't like the concept of the expertise stuff. Still not a huge fan, but i appreciate you explaining it so succinctly.
This video is awesome! Nobody explains this with detail like you. I am a PVE player and as soon as I level up to the highest expertise, I will have my revenge in the DZ. You got a new sub. God bless and thank you!
I was seeing the intro and forgot why I was watching this video.. I almost go to the DZ adrenaline full 200%!! Now I remembered, expertise, I came for expertise tips hahahha
Just make a 2nd character do the warlords of New York story and at the end put all the points in printer filament and after delete character and ((repeat))
Sword, is this true. When i want to get rid of say weapons and gear i dont want, if i deconstructe them (when the trash can icon) appears and then do it. Those rescources you keep or are they wiped? Always wondered. After that i assume you can donate them to make items profitiant aswell as ways you said.
@SwoRD_Gaming_ ok im more puzzled..when you donate junk, does the junk have to match what item you want to make proficent. I keep pressing donate to junk pressing X and nothing?? Yet i have loads of gear marked as junk. Like masks, chests, kneepads, holsters and load of weapons. If i want to make ARs proficent do i need donate only ARs as junk
I have the capacitator, the bighorn, ouroboros and the chatterbox when I go in the tinkering station in expertise. But I can see them in my stash or inventory so that I can use them. Some guidance will be much appreciated.
I'm just testing the waters on different builds that entwine with the guns I use Seems to be working just takes time to find the right build for your game play
Its cool but just in case ill explain the skill part here since its a little diffrent here: ok with skills it mostly the same the big difference is this: the method of getting duplicits is not possible so instead you must either donate resources or equip it and grind out exp with it on. As for what expertise affects it changes depending on the skill variant from in increase to its range or damage all the way to the skills healing or how long it stays active.
i still don’t really understand why my capacitor can’t go past expertise level 2 it says i need to increase its proficiency level to upgrade it again but i can’t so im just stuck on level 2 expertise on capacitor please help if ive missed something in the video
you can't exceed the current expertise lvl you have so if you want higher expertise on your capacitor you need to get other things profficient thus increasing your expertise lvl that will let you lvl up the things you want higher
@obi5190 the more gear and weapons you have proficient the higher your expertise will go. Just donate everything you won't use by using countdown. All your exotic stuff only use printer filament to get it max proficient or have it apart of your loadout. Don't donate exotic cause you will need those components parts to get a higher expertise later.
How does it make the weapon handling go up when doing expertise???? It just ups the damage and armor is just that armor % going up that’s it. Unless I’m missing something
Good question, Amber. Leveling up the expertise on your weapon will slightly increase its handling, and accuracy. But only to a small degree. It will mainly increase the overall damage. Increasing the expertise on your gear will increase your total armor by that percentage. Keep in mind that the increased weapon handling and accuracy won't be showed on your stats, only the weapon damage will show an increase.
@@SwoRD_Gaming_YT sorry but this is misleading, expertise on weapons increases just weapon dmg, nothing else and on gear it increases just by the base armor value of certain piece, that's why lvling up your geat is waste of materials
@@hybriddecadence8679 simple enough - have two identical weapons, one expertised to say 10 and one still at base of 0. Then see if the handling varies in the shooting range (which it won't). If you make a video about how expertise affects accuracy and weapon handling im sure you will get a ton of views. That is a huge secret buff to expertise and everyone would love to know more about it. Literally everyone would watch that video.
Farming resource convoys??? They're worth half what they used to. The new fast farm is Public execitions, they're worth double the XP of convoys with 4 directives turned on. Now yes, they take a little longer to kill all NPCs, but only a little. Most of them are right beside a fast travel point and sometimes you can find two or three side by side. Taking out two public executions is worth more than a control point and can be done in half the time... Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Just play the game the way you like it and dont worry too much about the expertise system. It is one of THE worst things added to the game and its main purpose is to make you grind and farm like a monkey. Just play and have fun. The rest will follow automatic. The 1 or 2% extra bonus you get from expertise is not worth the effort (note the expertise is calculated off BASE stats) For those who do want to invest in it, some things like weapons benefit more then others from it. First lvl up your favourate (exotic) weapons, then your skills, then vest and backpack. Everything else you wont notice any difference.
Great vídeo 👏 but convoy no longer the best way to level up fast, propaganda broadcasd, public executions, control points are the best. Control point heróic 4/5 directrives garanteed level up, propaganda around 400k+ XP and executions close to 500k XP, even if you do it in Challenging with directives the activies i mentioned are still the best way to farm levels.

Can always dump armor parts and weapon parts toward expertise yes it cost more but no reason to have 9999 of each as you cant collect more once maxed cheaper alternative is printer filament once you hit around 1.2k SHD level you cant start doing mule runs making a new character and do the WONY DLC at the end you'll have points to dump into materials
wony runs are not worth the time on that low shd lvl
i would say at least 3k SHD for wony runs to be kinda worth it
nice video ,im a veteran shd 87k but this will definately help new players out!
87k. Ok OG😎
@@airborne1868 i didnt use any exploit this is the only game i played since 2019 theres people that casually played and have super high shds,i played efficiently and my usual farm is 100-120 lvls a day thats without gb events active
@@BlackRazer37how do you farm that many levels in a single day?
It takes me a full day to get maybe 5 6 shd levels
Also, the Devs altered the XP gains a while back. Resource Convoys aren't the highest net gains anymore. Now it's Control Points (for longer engagements) and Propaganda Broadcasts (for shorter engagements.) Technically Settlement Blockades net more, but those very rarely pop up. Don't forget to reset your map to do each task over and over again.
Public Executions net more than the Propaganda Broadcasts. By a fair bit if you're running multiple directives. And Settlement Blockades yield about as much as a CP but obviously don't appear very often.
Great video to explain about expertise and how to get it on weapons gear. Keep up the good work.
Good vid for new players this is very good for the community Im personally using a EB with the rock and roll and support build a Ungoing striker build❤️🔥
Finally something different chick knows her game I love it!!! you just gained fan keep it up!
Use rigger build with the skill directives anyway. If you cancel the skills before they run out, they recharge like normal :)
Outstanding video.
yeah i hit fast 26expertise...but now is a pain to get all the exotic fragments necessary for a full build, 3 weapons + 6 armor pieces + 2-3 skills
Thanks so much for breaking this down! Time to grind!
Like I posted earlier... It took well over an hour. lol...
i love that voice! good explaining as well
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO
"For weapons increased expertise improves handling, accuracy, stability, and other stats, making the weapon more effective..."
Hold up I thought it only gives you 1% more weapon damage.
Since when did it improve the handling of the weapon as a whole? Aka the handling, stability, and accuracy?
lol ohhh snapp. I did not know you had a RUclips. You are bad*** in the DZ. Came across you a few times. Great video.
Hey, thanks
And the best content creator award goes to Sword gaming! 👏👏
Awe, thank you! 😊😁
Useful and well presented video.
Good video. Farming prop broadcasts also levels you up fast
Let me clarify something that you said. It's not really about the category of weapon type. It's about the specific weapon eg StElmos, rather than the assault rifle category. You rank up faster if in a group of four than three.
This game and GR breakthrough are two great games but I'm not really sure why I suddenly stopped playing them
Actually the best way to farm levels is challenging 3 directives on control points like falling crane, use a skill build and post up in the balcony across the street, takes 2-3 minutes to clear, reset the control point after you clear it. You'll level up much faster vs. the alternative.
Why 3? Run gunner specialization to help with ammo and scanner pulse for enemy location, run 5 directives it isn’t hard
help alot thanks😊
You're welcome!
Hi Sword. Love the video. Very short but packed with info. I appreciate the efficiency so you got a sub.
Your skill build is confusing to me lol - I'd be curious to know your rationale on some of the pieces.
Thank you!
Is the best idea once you have an item profitent (cant spell it) to find two that are now and work on getting them profitent. Like an AR and SMG combo. Aswell as gear sets. Love the vids
Great channel...
Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you very much!
You're main character doesn't need to. 🙂👌
No, don't delete your main character
Thanks for replying. I get what you say. So thank you
I appreciate the video, but nowhere have you explained what I came here for, and that is, how do I get my expertise level past 1 to upgrade further, because all I'm getting is a message saying "Insufficient Expertise Level" and I can upgrade or donate further to anything I use as I'm maxed 1 on everything I use
This ⬆️
Hello Sword. Hello Prajna. Another great guide video. I barely know how to use the expertise on the tinkering bench, a few times I accidentally got rid one of my exotics while trying to increase the proficiency of it, big mistake lol. Now after seeing this guide, I'll be more careful.
Hi Das! 😊
The search continues lol. Might take weeks or months for me to get it but I'm not stopping.
He just donate
hey thanks for explain expertise, really like the look on your character anyway you can share your character creation from the barber menu.
Sure I will make a video on that sometime
As a day one and beta player for both Div titles, i really didn't like the concept of the expertise stuff. Still not a huge fan, but i appreciate you explaining it so succinctly.
This video is awesome! Nobody explains this with detail like you. I am a PVE player and as soon as I level up to the highest expertise, I will have my revenge in the DZ. You got a new sub. God bless and thank you!
I agree 💯 with your video
I was seeing the intro and forgot why I was watching this video.. I almost go to the DZ adrenaline full 200%!! Now I remembered, expertise, I came for expertise tips hahahha
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Dude im a veteran player and still have no idea how tf this works
Just make a 2nd character do the warlords of New York story and at the end put all the points in printer filament and after delete character and ((repeat))
It gets tedious after a while :P
Sword, is this true. When i want to get rid of say weapons and gear i dont want, if i deconstructe them (when the trash can icon) appears and then do it. Those rescources you keep or are they wiped? Always wondered. After that i assume you can donate them to make items profitiant aswell as ways you said.
You will keep the resources
STILL NEED HELP IN GETTING THE OUROBORUS.....
On PS5?
Same
I’m on ps5 though
I’m just getting back into the game on series X again and that gun looks nice. Whats the best build to run in the mission to get that gun?
@@kalluah3140full striker redcore with the Saint Elmo’s and a medic
Wats is ur dz build if u Dnt mind me asking
I'm just testing the waters on different builds that entwine with the guns I use Seems to be working just takes time to find the right build for your game play
This is nice but you failed to explain 1 thing ... profinency also affects skills....
Forgot to explain that part. Thank you for mentioning that. 😉
Damn. I didn't know that either. Good looking.
This game is full of secrets lol. Ty sis.
i still don’t really understand why my capacitor can’t go past expertise level 2 it says i need to increase its proficiency level to upgrade it again but i can’t so im just stuck on level 2 expertise on capacitor please help if ive missed something in the video
you can't exceed the current expertise lvl you have so if you want higher expertise on your capacitor you need to get other things profficient thus increasing your expertise lvl that will let you lvl up the things you want higher
@@p0m1k ah so if i get all ars to the max proficiency level to allow for expertise upgrades that will allow me to increase my capacitor?
@@SwoRD_Gaming_YT fanfuckingtastic thnx!!!!
@@SwoRD_Gaming_YT sorry but this is misleading, expertise on weapons increases just weapon dmg, nothing else and on gear it increases just by the base armor value of certain piece, that's why lvling up your geat is waste of materials
Hmm if it doesn't show in the stats how can we test it?@@SwoRD_Gaming_YT
@@hybriddecadence8679 simple enough - have two identical weapons, one expertised to say 10 and one still at base of 0. Then see if the handling varies in the shooting range (which it won't). If it would, then your damage drop off display - where accuracy/stability shows on a weapon - would show slight improvements to the expertised weapon VS the non
Expertise only gives weapon damage on guns. And armor on armor piecea
Great information for especially new players. The only thing I would question is the best XP farming method is public executions on challenging with all directives. You will get 422k XP per activity and they usually only take 2 minutes. Thanks again for the video. 😈
It's faster to use a new account get it to 40 and just donate all weapons that don't have the rolls you want which will be most when you first hit lvl 40
The simple way to donate I'd resources just run a mule character and you'll have it done in 2 days
I don't get it. Should i use all rifles or just my favourite one?
Just your favorite 🙂
But i need to equip stuff to raise proficiency , and get expertise?
Yes, or you can donate material to level your items too
Fastest way to farm shd level is 5 directives, striker build with chatterbox, as you refill the mag after a kill, with gunner specialisation
Farm execution and propaganda broadcast, I did 50-100 levels within 1-2 hours
I am shd level 11566 I am just getting back into the game. My expertise level is stuck at level 19. I donate so much gear but it’s not moving from 37/140. Very frustrating this expertise system is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You for any response.
If you make a video about how expertise affects accuracy and weapon handling im sure you will get a ton of views. That is a huge secret buff to expertise and everyone would love to know more about it. Literally everyone would watch that video.
Agreed. I thought it only increased damage on weapons.
can you share how to create your characters face?
I'll make a video soon
What's your sensitivity?

Farming resource convoys??? They're worth half what they used to. The new fast farm is Public execitions, they're worth double the XP of convoys with 4 directives turned on. Now yes, they take a little longer to kill all NPCs, but only a little. Most of them are right beside a fast travel point and sometimes you can find two or three side by side. Taking out two public executions is worth more than a control point and can be done in half the time... Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
Hello im now 26 level i have max materials everything any advice to now waste materials im farming! Any advice appreciate it guys
by the way thank you for this video without you im on level 15 now ❤
please i need video for ouroboros build pve solo please please plase or eagle or the ravenous i hope u dont ignore my request guys 😂
have lovely day guys i love u guys really i do 😊😅😮😢😂
Expertise is just there way of a lvl cap increase without actually doing it.
Aun funciona?
Just play the game the way you like it and dont worry too much about the expertise system. It is one of THE worst things added to the game and its main purpose is to make you grind and farm like a monkey. Just play and have fun. The rest will follow automatic. The 1 or 2% extra bonus you get from expertise is not worth the effort (note the expertise is calculated off BASE stats)
For those who do want to invest in it, some things like weapons benefit more then others from it. First lvl up your favourate (exotic) weapons, then your skills, then vest and backpack. Everything else you wont notice any difference.
@swordgaming I miss you
Wony 2 hours spend points on creddits buy mods break for filliment donate, 6 hours a night 3 months got from 5 to 26 its the fastest way
Great vídeo 👏 but convoy no longer the best way to level up fast, propaganda broadcasd, public executions, control points are the best. Control point heróic 4/5 directrives garanteed level up, propaganda around 400k+ XP and executions close to 500k XP, even if you do it in Challenging with directives the activies i mentioned are still the best way to farm levels.
Stick around till the end of the video. Lol. Got 25 Already my way and efficient
Making fun of me? 😂
For you low level agents xd haaha burn!!!
I hate that we’re being told how to play, being punished for playing the way we like. Being “directed” to use certain skills and builds regardless of play style.
Suicide modifier is all bad🚫👎🙅❌
❤
Hi😂😂
I hate the expertise system, it's boring and slow. Also, why should I have to level items I dont ever use or plan to use, this is a wall that should not exist, especially in the DZ where the gaps between players is already broken. 😂
Bem cansativo ainda mais quem pegou jogo desde do seu começou
