There are Kenyan Somalis. Not all Somalis are from Somalia. So, she is right to identify as Kenyan first. Kenya shares borders with Somalia and Ethiopia, so Kenya shares tribes with the two countries. Kenyan Somalis are Kenya's sixth largest tribe. People most of the time assume Somalis can not be Kenyan, but they are. Kenya is the most diverse country in East Africa and even Africa when it comes to ethnic composition. There are Bantus, Cushites and Nilotes as well as mixed heritage when these local tribes intermarry.

Excellent content brother. I went on a safari at Kruger National Park in South AFrica. Life reaffirming experience. We stayed at a luxury lodge on the park with giraffe coming to our balcony for treats.

I can't speak for bank of America, but for the American bank I had I had to call the 1-800 number (on the back of the bank card) to inform them which country I was traveling to before I traveled there. If you plan on staying in East Africa (for a long period of time) then opening a bank account in Kenya 🇰🇪 would be preferred.

Austin a little advice on your banking problem. Never ever bank with BofA, Wells or Chase. They have stiffed Black folk money for years with no interest. Charles Schwab does not charge foreign transaction fees and are very flexible. They also have locations in South Africa and Europe. Also better get with Ecobank which I have an account in Gambia that pays 4% interest. I did hear the bank African Banking Corporation (ABC) in Tanzania pays 6% so you will be getting $17 a month free money on minimums. Good luck. My banks pay me.

The same is happening to my father who lives in Guatemala. This 80 year old has been back and forth from USA to Guatemala at least 5 times this year alone. They have locked up his account even though we have been to the branch, wrote letter’s, signed affidavit I personally don’t know what else do.

I just would like to add that timing is important when visiting the national parks. I remember visiting a National Park at midday and could barely see any animals apart from Giraffes and Warthogs, the Tourguide told us that most animals are hiding or sleeping during that time because the sun is at its peak, it's too hot and they would rather save energy hiding where there is shade. So it's hard to spot them

That was the SGR train on an elevated rail. It goes from Nairobi to Mombasa with very affordable prices. I've traveled on it last year.
