Who though? With the internet, it's crazy to be ignorant about any part of the world. It's surprising how African Americans are just discovering Africa when white Americans have been in Africa since forever!
I have fond memories of this race course. I ran a cross country race in 2002 representing Uganda 🇺🇬 when I was a secondary school student. It was African Cross Country Championship. One of the hardest races I have ever ran!

Unique content. Very much expanding the window on what people know about Africa. And also the idea of "it's now what you know but WHO you know." Even seeing exactly how "them folks" are living over there. All good stuff to see in 2023.
Hehehe 😀 it's not "them folks". There's a lot that AAs need to learn about motherland because mother africa got other kids that are not black - and they are not illegitimate kids. The reason Kenya is somewhat diverse is because some Brits/Arabs/Indians/Asians chose to remain in the country after colonialism. They got children here and their children have gotten children here so, many of the non black folk you see around are infact 💯% Kenyan. With that being said, we also have "them folks" here. They be the ones that take pictures of hungry starving kids, ghetto life,/slums, political riots, poverty, disease, wars etc for negative publicity.
Worth noting this doesn't mean it's expensive to go there, it's just Ksh 500 for tickets & Ksh 50 if you have a students ID that's why they're usually so many uni students there.

Troy (and Auston): Thanks for letting me see a Ngong horse race from the inside! Had always heard about these races. This is really exclusive Kenyan stuff. I didn't even know that they have a party after a race. Well, good to know! Auston got big time VIP treatment, especially being at the spot where the finish line for the horses is located. My family was never connected enough for such circles (that's the limitation we had as middle class Kenyans). And the Lavington scene was also great. Lavington is an amazing, high-end neighborhood. @@usa_kenyan that's not comparable to the Kentucky Derby, tickets to that range between $100 to $81,000.
