- In this video I did a test to see how fast an RTX 3090 could render this Scene using Nvidia Iray. It's amazing!!! So grateful to @PugetSystemsPC for my Workstation. I will continue to share updates as I work with it. If you want to configure a system for fast renders visit this link: hubs.ly/H0TD6v70

Unreal! I have a 3070 and I love it. The 3090 was out of my price range. I will eventually upgrade. I am blown away you are getting that kind of quality from Daz.
Thank you :) Yes, the tech is advancing super fast.
..I have a 3060 (12 GB) but old MB's BIOS only talk to it so it's back to the old Titan-X Until can get a new board CPU and memory. WOn't get that kind of viewport performance but the 3090 (and newer 4090) is also out of my price and power range. Will I look forward to the improvement with RT cores.
Thank you for your videos, Solomon!
I am awaiting my incoming funding for my Unreal Engine workstation and it will have the Threadripper 3970x and RTX 3090 as well. I am super stoked there is another creator sharing videos like this to show off the tech before I get my rig!
Are you able to make a video that showcases how resources are used by Unreal to make large renders? I know there is a way to monitor and change CPU and GPU usage, but can't find any videos showing it off. If not, I understand.
I wish you luck on your journey and I know you are going to blow up soon with a viral video. Your work deserves to be seen by many, my friend.
Thank you so much :)
Well Solomon, great minds must think alike, I have been saving cash for a threadripper/3090 build!!! - I’m almost there, maybe one more month!!! - I am SOOOO looking foreward to having that kind of power for IRAY renders!!! Thanks so much for posting this!!!!
Thank you :) I am cheering you on :)
Peter, I just wanted to make sure whatever you get works with the denoiser if that is something you want to use. I've always worked on a Mac and my research has brought me to the conclusion that the Day Studio denoiser option only works with Nvidia cards.
@@ShannonMaer Shannon, first off I love your art, and have watched and followed you for a while!!! - Yes the new rtx cards are optimised for AI denoising, they are apparently blazing fast!!!! (And blazing expensive….)
I'm upgrading from a GTX 980 to an RTX 3090 in a few days, hoping it makes a big difference to my renders, I make animations so I hope for a lot of saved time in rendering and previewing my scenes.
All the best :)
I upgraded from a Gtx 970 to a 3090oc, it's just jaw dropping how fast it renders, my only issue is now, is that I have been spoiled, whereas I use to have a limit on polys and textures, not so much now, some of my renders can take over 3 to 5 hours compared to when I first did a render from my 970 on the 3090, which only took 2 minutes.
I have a Ryzen 9 5950X and a 3080TI with 128gb of ram and DAZ runs like crap on my machine. Any tips?
Impressive! With my RTX 2060, I was able to get something close to this with denoiser on in DAZ Studio 4.11. I was able to get a clear picture in under 30 seconds for a 1080p image. Version 4.12 of DS was slower for some reason. I eventually switched to Unreal Engine 4 so I can do real time ray tracing and global illumination. If future versions of DAZ Studio can do this without me having to upgrade my graphics card, I might go back to using DS. With UE5, you don't even need an RTX card to do real time RT and GI.
Thank you :) I too look forward to when Daz can have realtime rendering like UE. For now, its cool to have the Daz to Unreal Bridge.
3090 is a monster but you want to disable denoiser for finer details. Most cards from 1070 upwards will give you instant sample with denoiser on. The challenge for these cards is human models, animal models, hair and other things that overload the scene.
I have a gt 710. I render 100 samples on CPU.
You changing the hdri to different color tones. Beautiful 💖.
Oh those real-time previews..
Thank you :)
I went from a 970, the difference is absolutely unbelievable.
Try this
Mantain Max Samples at 15.000
Disable Render Quality
in Max time, set to 0 (zero)
And hit render
the details in render in most cases, appear after 80% of render process
in this scene setup, the render will stop at 15.000 samples, a really good render
I use similar settings but put max samples to 9999999, that way I choose how long I want the render to last
Lord! ... I need new pants...
I have a 1080 ti graphics card. I wait 20 minutes for rendering instead of 5 minutes,, Instead of giving $2500
Sounds worth it until you're rendering 50+ images at a time, then that goes from 1000 minutes on the 1080ti to 250 minutes on the 3090. (16 hours vs 4 hours)
There's also the difference in VRAM, which is huge when you want to render a massive scene without falling back to the CPU or rendering the scene piece by piece and previewing the render in Nvidia iRay quickly as he showcases here. The 3090 saves way more time than the 1080ti when you factor in more than just render times alone.
My first card for rendering was the 1080 ti water cooled, but the 3090 I have now is insane in comparison, worth the purchase in my mind (I also only spent $1,200 for it when the price dropped, before that I had the RTX 2060 Super)
Trending Searches: Jodie Sweeten. ... Lol.
Upgrading to 2nd gen threadripper and Gina sell my 3060 and get a 3090 lol
lol!! Right!!
enabling the denoiser makes your video useless though... it's cpu altherythmic when it does it's IQS pass.
even without the denoiser it still does the exact same thing, it's just a bit more pixilated because Nvidia iRay mode always takes longer to fully render (if it ever does) with the denoiser on it just makes it look similar to eevee in blender. I have a 3090, I prefer to view my preview without the denoiser, but if it's a dark scene, you almost need it because it will be insanely pixilated to the point where you can barely see any detail for about 10 seconds.
I am speechless. Guess I have to sell my kidney for the RTX3090 now....
Thank you :) Definitely worth it. But not the kidney selling part lol!!
@@SolomonJagwe But do you have a video showing the RTX3090 in interaction with characters, lets say Gen 8 or 8.1 I realy would love to see it
Me renders on Intel Iris inbuilt graphics. lol
Hitting render, the daz character walks out from the viewport 😃..
Mine is almost the same.
Honestly a pair of RTX3090 are top on my shopping list. However, since I experiment a lot of Nvidia cards, did anyone try the A100 yet?
what about rendering out video with moving characters....
That is impressive. Could you try an avatar 8.1 with Facemotion 3d in this to see how fast it updates here.
Here you go :) ruclips.net/video/k1wAI9wAkiA/видео.html
and an animation Render: ruclips.net/video/Am52G3cnocw/видео.html
How much vram is actually used by the card for this scene?
What about the RTX 3090 ti Would this be a good upgrade.
Yes :)
@@SolomonJagwe Hi Solomon,
Solomon would it be possible if you would be so kind if you would give me the Specs of your PC of what is inside so I could get something similar as
I don't want to get the wrong new pc as I know it is going to cost a lot of money.
Regards
Malcolm
I really want to see a picture of your actual rig if is it possible please
The 3090s are a great card. I've got 2 of them ;)
How is your rendering experience?
@@SolomonJagwe I only have one of them installed, I haven't installed the 2nd one yet. But for just one, it has sped up rendering 4 times faster than my previous card which was a 1080ti. Once I install the 2nd one, it's going to be very interesting to see what the results will be. Although, I had to buy another PSU which is a 1600W, because the 3090s do suck up a lot of power.
@@LaFemmeCriminelle please keep us updated!
@@jenskidora5655 I'll try too 👍
@@linkincnt Actually I did some tests and the rendering in iRay (which I use mostly) is actually faster, about 60 - 70% which I have noticed. So for rendering, yes it's perfect. For viewport performance, not really.
OMG this is amazing
Deam i must this graphic card xD
my graphics card a 2080 Rtx keeps over heating when i do the simplest thing like zooming into a character, its frustrating, even with 7 fans it still over heats. there wasn't much change in render speed from my last card 1660 ti. man feels like every time i hear "this graphic card is faster" I get it but I see no difference, the only real change I see is in my video games not much at all in the 3D software area and rendering;what I actually bought it for
Yes, graphics card can get hot, if the airflow in the system is not laid out properly. There is an art to placing the fans the correct way, its something knew I learned when working with the Puget Systems team. They literary test to make sure the system doesn't overheat, like thermal imaging the machine before they ship it out.
if i get a 3090, is 64gb ram enough or should i go for 128gb? i do lots of 3d work and rendering.
128gb is better if you plan on using the Unreal Engine
@@SolomonJagwe ok thanks!
Amazing!
Thank you :)
If you think that was fast, try running two RTX 4090's with a 2000watt psu, Its even better 🙂
To think all them scalpers stuck with a million RTX3090's, when everyone is now interested in RTX4090's makes me laugh. I'm glad i wasn't able to buy the RTX3090 back when all that was going on.
How much does rtx 3090 cost??
On Bestbuy its $1,499.99 Although currently it seems to be sold out.
So I am planning to start off with a budget GPU, that is a GTX 1660 Ti. Is is good enough for daz?
Wait for Q1/2022. GPUs are currently 50% overpriced. Intel will release new GPUs so hopefully 3rd competitor will lower prizes. And i would say no, GPU can´t be fast enough for Daz, its engine is really aweful. Friend of mine is working on 2x 1080, which are decent.
Check out this tutorial, it will get you going until you get a more powerful system: ruclips.net/video/X84bri19aA8/видео.html
I'll give my experience. Currently I use a gtx 960m and 8gb shared ram: i'm able to load and render a total of 3 genesis 8.1 figures with some pretty resource heavy hairs on them into 1 scene during my stress tests before my pc comes to a grinding halt....or simply crashes. Surprisingly, rendering heavy scenes with the 960m don't take as long as you might think with such a low end card so its obvious the 1660 performance-wise would be mileeessss ahead in performance with its extra cuda cores, ram etc. The 1660ti is levels above a 960m and would be perfectly fine for dealing with above average loads and snappier rendering, however i would take gregors advice and wait till Q1 or Q2 of 2022 for a price drop. Also, Its always better to get a GPU with higher onboard *GPU ram*, but generally the more ram (whether GPU or the regular pc ram) the better..
Damn impressive!
Thank you :)
What do you think between meta human and Daz ? Which one better in ur opinion ?
I think if you are planning on rendering outside of the Unreal Engine, Daz Characters are suited for that workflow. The MetaHumans are still limited in terms of clothing and intended for rendering in Unreal. The cool thing is that there is a bridge to bring Daz content into the Unreal Engine.
@@SolomonJagwe Do you have a video on RUclips using metahuman and daz in unreal engine video? Btw are there any drawbacks going this route making a 3d animation?
