      You're very welcome, Yoni! I'm currently working on a new and much expanded series called the Daz Studio Masterclass. It'll be available for sale on the Daz Store when it's finished, but I do post early access videos for my supporters if you'd like to learn more. It'll be three large chapters, part 1 is complete, part 2 is nearly done.

    There's some awesome information on stuff I didn't know about that's massively helpful for work I'm doing. You have a fantastic way explaining things that makes the subject you're talking about easy to understand. I'm catching up on watching a number of your past videos and I want to say that this is by far the absolute best channel I've found for information on DAZ Studio. Awesome video! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. It is massively appreciated! :).

    Thanks Mr. Guru sir. I always pick up a little something, maybe not the subject of the video but something you do while in the program.
    I just recently started playing in Daz a few months ago I guess. I don't have more than hobby experience in most but I've played with a few others over the years so I'm not completely lost.
    With finite sphere and a beach with ocean...I can see the horizon will distort moving the camera to different positions. Infinite sphere works better there. But you can also use the Zoom instead of Dolly to keep the background consistent.
    Left click the icon moves the whole camera, right click and drag zooms in and out with the lens.
    Moving the camera also moves where it looks like your figure is positioned. Using the zoom won't "move the character" or background.
    I've grabbed a few characters to play with and I can see that creators still don't care too much about bump maps. They tend to only concentrate on faces too as far as good details.
    You can't just grayscale your color image and call it a bump map if you want to do any kind of close ups. I made my own back when V4 was the latest and greatest, now I'm working on a Genesis 3-8 version. Gotta have adjustable goosebumps, freckles and moles should poke out, not in, lots of little stuff. Smooth out any pixelation. Eyebrows are hard to do working from photographs, those new mesh ones will help a lot I think. With these nicer render engines it makes a big difference.
    Probably won't go that high but the hardware info in Daz tells me I can go up to 16k on textures. Poser, on my old laptop was limited to 4k or maybe Poser itself was.

    Great explanation and demos, Jay! Hope to see more of these - and I just wanna hear you sing some more, buddy! 😂 After the holidays I'm planning on upgrading my DAZ machine - it has a 500GB SSD as the OS drive - and it's almost full. I'm wanting to put a 2 or even 4 TB SSD in there with a fresh load of Win10. Then all I have to do is load up the latest from DAZ, and just link DAZ to my libraries on one of the other HDs. Hope you're feeling better, and a big Merry Christmas to you and Julia from Jo and me - and the TNA Girls, of course!

    The series with the green image I truly like. Well explained! Can you make more of these. With simple tasks? Like making delight light and camera, applying shaders to clothes in a scene, changing a texture with your own made texture for cyclorama or a clothing item, how to work with cameras, how to save your perspective view? Thanks!

    • @WPguru
      @WPguru  4 года назад

      I'm glad you're enjoying it! Some of your questions are already answered in this series, like the saving the Perspective View (you can't do that, you need to create a camera to save a location, but you can create a camera using the settings of the Perspective View). I'm also talking about shaders, I recommend you watch the whole series: ruclips.net/p/PLPcx_LSSGfZeCEvFO0spfYc3DzjpJyIzY

      @@WPguru Hello, thank you for the serie with the green image and for this reply. Can you make more starters like your green image serie? I have watched them all. Love them.
      I am not able to get the camera into my chosen perspective view. It is so easy in poser yet so horrible in daz. I use the sliders but the camera is not going in the position I need it to. So you can make a camera save with your chosen perspective. Can you make a video about this all? You can not just like in poser make a save with your pose and perspective view?
      I finally got my picture right, but don't dare to turn Daz off ,because if I do and restart tomorrow my whole chosen perspective and pose is gone.
      Unfortunately I am not able to change the fabrik of the clothes of the character with the shaders I have bought. I just don't get it. In Poser everything is so easy. Double click on the shader, choose the clothing part and that is it.
      But I have bought the G3fm centaurs and they are for Daz. They dont have the Poser companion files.
      Can you make a video how to transport a character and hair with morps and clothing with morphs to Poser pls. There are some videos on RUclips, but these are old and I don't think you can do it anymore like that. I am able to transport static props with OBJ, but not the mentioned. I tried hair, the centaur, hair as static prop, clothing but failed all. Using Daz 4.12. Anyway Thank you!

    • @WPguru

      I’m explaining all about cameras in episode 113 of the series, about 9 minutes in I’ll show you how to turn the perspective view into a camera. That will save your framing with the scene: ruclips.net/video/S2_LBxyhQMc/видео.html
      Sadly the option to share content between Poser and DAZ with DSON is a thing of the past, and only works for Genesis 1+2 content (barely).
      I’ll make a quick video about applying shaders for you.

    • @PaithanORG
      @PaithanORG 4 года назад

      @@WPguru Thank you so much. And thank you so much for the upcoming video.
      Sharing content is a thing of the past. So an older version could do it? I have older versions. Never used it because of poser, but I could install them on my older computer. Which version was able to transport character and props / hairs with morphs?
      4.13 is still able to transport static props and evironments. Even I can do that :)
      Greetings!

    • @WPguru
      @WPguru  4 года назад

      I was referring to the Genesis figure versions. G1 and G2 figures had so called DSON support, which made them work in Poser (to a point). G3 and G8 no longer have that, so you can't pose those figure generations in poser anymore.

    In order to get the most out of this video, for me at least, is to watch it twice, maybe three times. You always pick up something new when you watch it again. Hey WP Guru, I would love to see a video from you about how lightening and/or less lightening effect the speed and/or quality of your renders in Daz Studio !

  • @stubi1103

    Thank you Sir, very important information here.
    Do I understand correctly, I can't use HDRI together with "Sun and Sky only"?
    Because, that would be helpful to adjust the position of the sun to the scene and not rotate the dome because of the background.
    Example, a beautiful scene on the beach with the sea behind the figure but the sun is in an unfavorable position.

    • @WPguru
      @WPguru  Год назад +1

      That's right, sun and sky only cannot be used together with a HDRI. To create a similar effect, you can use Dome and Scene, which will render your HDRI and all scene lights, then use a Distant Light to emulate the sun and brighten things up where necessary. HDRIs are great, but they're often not a one-click solution to good lighting. I frequently add point lights and spot lights to make the character stand out better.

      Sadly DAZ have aren’t very good at writing documentation for this programme. You can find what little there is here: docs.daz3d.com. Somewhere in there is a PDF for DAZ Studio 4.6, that’s the closest they’ve ever written.
      Aside from various RUclips videos, there’s a good introductory book by Les Pardew on Amazon: amzn.to/2TnYPgM

    Great vid, as always from you but we should clarify, technically speaking GI or Global Illumination is the process of the light bouncing around, and/or being absorbed by objects in a scene rather than putting a 'globe' around a scene and adding lights to the inside of that globe, Hope that makes sense. In other words GI is more to do with the indirect lighting we get rather than direct lighting you first get from the HDRI :)

    • @WPguru
