Good call on toning the legs. I legit almost cried when you cut to the shot of you peeling off that veneer- I thought she’s never going to do this again. And then, being the legend you are, tries again, and then it turned out so beautifully! Nerves of steel!! Beautiful work and another lesson for the rest of us on the fruits of perseverance 👏 ❤
It’s beautiful! I liked the 2 toned legs, but you were right, the darker looked even better. I sure admire your tenacity and courage with putting on the veneer top! It turned out great! You know what else? Your floor is absolutely gorgeous…and I’ve already mentioned how much I adore your wallpaper mural! ❤❤❤
You are such a hard-working lady! I worry your long hair will get glue on it!?! This is BEAUTIFUL NOW! Well, well, well done, yet once again. PS: I also love how you learn as you go, and teach us at the same time. THANK YOU DEAR ONE!
This turned out stunning❤❤❤. When ironing out the bubbles(in the veneer) it takes a few times, using water after every time. You'll notice that it will smooth out the bubbles, making it flat. I think you did a fabulous job!!!! Great video😊😊😊
Fabulous job, Lisa, especially darkening the legs at the end. I was going to recommend that anyway. I think this lovely piece should now sell really well. 👍
Great result. I always moisten the new veneer a little with a slight touch. Then I glue both sides, let the glue become almost dry and then iron it tightly. I iron blisters as long as they disappear or pierce the blister with a thin needle and iron the blister away. It works very well.
Beautiful results! I would go with the darker legs but does look great as is. I always appreciate you showing when things go wrong because it can help someone else if they find themselves in similar circumstances.
I've seen this stain at Home Depot, but I've never tried it. You hardly used any of it. Your dresser turned out beautifully. I think the legs need a little more color but not as dark as the dresser itself. I like that it isn't so glossy. Loving your videos.
Well done, looks great 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 So glad u persisted with the laminate & used ur iron to get it to stick down more! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 If ur still getting some areas that don’t stay stuck, make a TINY nick in the laminate where its lifting & stick some more glue in there using a syringe, put weights on it or clamps till it dries again.
You are so patient. Cleaning all the nook & crannies are so tedious. I'm sorry you had so much trouble with the veneer. Yes, the legs look better stained. It turned out great. Another score!
Hi Lisa from Canada! Wow it's looking superb! You have excelled yourself! :-) I love the drawer colours and contasting wooden strips there. Personally I would darker stain the legs! Gorgeous piece. MQH
It’s so beautiful, Lisa! Way to persevere with the veneer top. I would vote for toning the legs to match the body better.❤ lol - now I watched the last 60 seconds and see that you did!
Turned out great 😊 I wanted to suggest Jay with flipping drawers channel. His last video he does a trick with acetone and I instantly thought of you. I’m curious what you think of it since you use acetone regularly.
Love the video BUT do Not love the wood grain in between the drawers. I would have changed that. Maybe the same as the top. Just my taste. Love your videos. Soooo much info and I have learned sooo much from you. Especially how so picky and precise you are. Makes ALL the difference
This is speculation, but I wonder if sealing the paper side of the veneer first would prevent the (supposed) contact cement failure. All due respect to the consultant, but I don’t see how wood glue can work on plastic. Speaking of which, I know many people would be horrified, but I would probably just polish the laminate; it is authentic to the piece, after all. (Honestly, I thought that, from a design standpoint, the paint job-horror of horrors-was awesome, though I get it might be a hard sell for buyers who love their natural wood.)
That piece , in the beginning, is simply hideous. It looks a lot better after but, seriously, that's not an attractive piece at all without even any hardware.

Looks beautiful. I personally prefer the darker legs.

I like those laminate strips left between the drawers, and the darker legs do look better.
Yes the darker legs! Very beautiful! I love that you don’t cut corners!

Thanks, Kay! I seem to learn something new on each project. 😊🙌🏼
I worry about her hair, too.
@@carolanewquilter8560 I wear it up most of the time. 😊🙌🏼
Love it! So happy the laminate was a success!
Thanks! Me too 😅
This turned out stunning❤❤❤. When ironing out the bubbles(in the veneer) it takes a few times, using water after every time. You'll notice that it will smooth out the bubbles, making it flat. I think you did a fabulous job!!!! Great video😊😊😊
Beautiful! Love the drawers! The legs look better darker! Well done Lisa!
Beautiful!! Love the darker areas behind the drawers!
I do too! I just left it original and I think it works 😊🙌🏼
What a lot of work, but it paid off! I love the legs in the light color.
Nice job! These winter temps are killing me too!!!
You are the Queen of Attention to Detail! A fabulous job and glad you did the legs.
Fabulous job, Lisa, especially darkening the legs at the end. I was going to recommend that anyway. I think this lovely piece should now sell really well. 👍
I agree! After taking some pics, I could tell it needed it. I always seem to make some tweaks after photographing. 😊🙌🏼
Great result.

You always do a beautiful job and have a lot of patience
Beautiful results! I would go with the darker legs but does look great as is. I always appreciate you showing when things go wrong because it can help someone else if they find themselves in similar circumstances.
I like the hard wax mixture. It left a beautiful even color. Sorry about the vanier. Your persistence paid off. Wow! Result.
always a pleasure watching your work
Just beautiful! You are an inspiration ❤

Thanks! Yep, that’s what I did the second time and it definitely helped 😊🙌🏼
Another great job! 🎉
You are so patient. Cleaning all the nook & crannies are so tedious. I'm sorry you had so much trouble with the veneer. Yes, the legs look better stained. It turned out great. Another score!

it's beautiful!
Thanks Cynthia!
Beautiful
Love your work
I love it! Nice work
Yes I like the darker legs. Good job, looks great
This piece was a lot of work, but it sure paid of. End result is stunning!!! GREAT JOB!
Thanks so much, Joann! I love how it turned out too! 🤩🙌🏼
It looks great
Amazing.❤
Beautiful
I think it’s beautiful the way it is! Good job!!❤
Thanks Brenda! 🤩🙌🏼
I've never had de-lamination using contact cement, although it is trickier to work with. Your piece came out besutiful.
I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a paper backed veneer? He was so adamant 😳
Veneer is fussy. 🥴
It’s so beautiful, Lisa! Way to persevere with the veneer top. I would vote for toning the legs to match the body better.❤ lol - now I watched the last 60 seconds and see that you did!
Wow!
I have seen others use a spray on adhesive for the application
Turned out great 😊 I wanted to suggest Jay with flipping drawers channel. His last video he does a trick with acetone and I instantly thought of you. I’m curious what you think of it since you use acetone regularly.
Love it. I'd match the legs to the dark color between the drawers. Just me

It looks so good. I love it. But I might darken the legs just a little more.
Wow, a lot of work but it sure did pay off! She's beautiful! ♥ What are your thoughts on the General Finishes Hard Wax Oil compared to the Osmo?
Great yob👏
Thanks so much! 😊🙌🏼
Ahti at AT restoration has some great videos where he does veneer. I would check him out. He is a master restorer.
Try peel and stick veneer
It’s a very different piece of furniture to that awful paint job!
You make everything you do beautiful!
Definitely darker legs but the rest is fabulous
❤
Thanks, Dorothy! 😊🙌🏼
I would tone the legs. It looks too heavy to me

Ebony stain on the legs! Looks great!🇨🇦👍
Thanks! I like them darker 🙌🏼😊
It’s lovely but I think legs should be darker.
Love it but darken the legs for sure.
Came out great! I was hoping you’d put handles on the drawers though.
I think legs darker
I agree!! I ended up darkening them at the end of the video 😊🙌🏼
