  • I changed the oil as well as replaced the crush washer on the transmission fill bolt, it had a very small leak.

    I have a 97 ae101. aunt gave it to me, needless to say I took pride in it and fixed it up. i am in dire need of motor mounts and an oil change pretty soon. I’m glad to see someone driving one too. It’s old but damn is it a reliable car. All my friends driving 2010+ cars and I’m sitting there laughing. I try to keep mine looking nice, done a few mods because i am decently into cars. no engine mods because the car is old and I’m not a bottomless bucket of money but I make sure to let people know it’s slow. thanks for making the vid

      My motor mounts were toasted when I got mine too! They’re definitely great cars!

    Some vehicles seem to burn less oil if you find a brand they like. I had a 92 that burned oil and it would burn less if I used NAPA brand oil (bottled by valvoline).

    Another way you can do to crank without starting it is pull the 15A EFI fuse on the driver side box next to the airbox good video though would be cool to see some upgrades done to it lots of hidden potential

      Thanks, and I love your car by the way, I’d like to eventually do the 20v blacktop swap to mine, if it ever blows up, although I really lack the skills needed to do it. Maybe in a few years once I’ve learned some more!

      My A/C system works well as of now so I don’t want to remove the condenser, but, this video series taught me how to repair A/C in cars. ruclips.net/video/uzarAQ3bND0/видео.html

    Hey what was the thing you disconnected when you said to crank it a few seconds to prime the filter? Also by crank im assuming you mean to start the engine right?

    • @kylesjunkandprojects216

      It was the power to the distributor, and yeah, turn the key and let it crank.

    Hey I just purchased an 97 E100 Corolla , I was wondering how they were on long drives , trips etc ?

      I’ve only taken mine on a sorta long 1,200 mile round trip. It did great, the wind does kinda blow the car around sometimes and it’s somewhat loud inside but, That doesn’t bother me a bit. It’s my favorite road trip car so far, it gets great gas mileage and is very comfortable.

    Hey man I have a 96 Toyota Corolla dx 4 speed automatic and it runs fine but It shakes around 60 mph and smoothes out around 70-75 mph , any idea ?

    • @kylesjunkandprojects216
      @kylesjunkandprojects216  2 года назад +2

      Mine did that for a while. It’s either your tires are out of balance or they’re flat spotted or under inflated. Take it to a tire shop and have the balance the tires, make sure your tires are aired up to 5 psi below the max pressure on the tire, not in the manual.

    Why do u change the pcv valve on the Toyotas you don't need to do this cause it's just a air hose....

    • @kylesjunkandprojects216
      @kylesjunkandprojects216  3 года назад +3

      If the PCV is clogged there will be excess crankcase pressure that can cause oil burning or even in rare cases, seals blowing out.

    Bouta go test drive a 96 Corolla dx, anyone have any tips?

      Dx should be solid, 7afe and the four speed auto or c52. Those are great cars with few common issues, check out my other video titled “everything you need to know about owning the 1993-1997 Corolla” or something along those lines.
