I sometimes have trouble recognizing which scenes are real and which are imagined. Did the interrogation with Elliot really happen or was it in Rues mind?
Elliot to me, feels like a perfect combination of both Rue and Jules. His sense of style, his quiet side and his way of speech is similar to Rue's. Then you have the fun, crazy side of his personality which is similar to Jules'. Even his hair gives it away, dark in the roots but blond in the end. Which is why I believe he has better chemistry with the both of them than they do with each other. He's just as messy as the both of them.

Him openly hitting on Jules and him talking to rue about how they might be bad influences on each other). He’s a very good middle ground but has his own way of humour and playfulness

I agree because if people want big plot twists and what nit you need to build up those scenes so they have worth especially with what this show is trying to do it wouldn't be enjoyable if every episode was like the carnival episode
i loved it too, i honestly didn’t think it was filler at all though because of how it contributed to another character backstory (cal) and also the build up of the mess between maddie, cassie, and nate. (also rue as well becoming a whole drug dealer lol)
Listen, I love Ashtray, but I feel like his penchant for violence is eventually gonna cause all sorts of trouble in Fez’s life. People forget he is still just a child, and I can’t imagine what effect that desensitization do violence is doing to his brain. He’s already been shown to be a bit bloodthirsty, and Fez has done nothing to curb it (perhaps bc he doesn’t know how to deal with it, or he feels bad about Ash’s childhood, or he just isn’t even aware). It makes me nervous, even beyond Rue’s BS, because I have a feeling Ash’ll be quite the little monster when he grows up, or - heaven forbid - Fez ever dies. On a side note, Cal’s backstory was actually really cute and I wish they did more 80s queer romances that actually ended well, and not with a predatory sociopath ;-;
I love your points and I feel it's so easy to forget ashtray is a literal child because of the life he has to live and I don't completely blame fez because he's barely old enough to be taking care of himself let alone the emotional depth needed to raise an abandoned child. I do think it's funny because people always joke that middle schoolers can be scary as hell but like I think how ashtray handles adult situations show that like damn, but I love him and he is so loyal to Fez he deserves so much love

Rue is so manipulative and calculated in her decisions but it’s all for drugs. She’s so smart, I wish she was using her intelligence in other ways but then there would be no plot
yea, thats what us addicts do. rue is such a realistic depiction of an actually intelligent teenager who uses all her brain capacity for drugs, and i feel like a lot of people dont get this about her character. she really, genuinely isnt a bad person, but what ali said in the special is 100% accurate from both the pov of an addict and the people around them, drugs really do fundamentally change you as a person, and its depicted so incredibly well. the hopelessness you feel while having to watch rue ruin her life more and more and more whole not being able to do anything about it is so real
All I’m going to say is that Lexi’s play is going to expose the ppl in her life and I’m ready for it. The whole thing with Fez/Cal/Faye/Ashtray was funny💀. Let's not forget the masterpiece that was the scene in the girls bathroom. Everything from the moment Cassie said "Rue Rue" them being concerned that she relapsed. I love seeing all the Girls together being friends, it's so many fun dynamics to play with bc besides Jules they've all known each other since they were kids. Even though they might not all be super close it's still a familiarity and a comfort they get from one another. I need more of that! A girls night out, Sleepover, a trip to Oklahoma SOMETHING!
theory: rue is not a drug dealer, that was just her plan to get high off her own supply which will ultimately leave to either fez or gia's demise. I think it will be fez because in ep 1 the lady drug dealer asked him "do you trust her," and he said "with my life." This will def foreshadow in later eps. edit: now that I've watched ep 5, idk if laurie will find her in time for the final episode but idk what to expect now
Agreed. Rue has no intention to sell those drugs, she's going to abuse those drugs with no plan to pay that woman back. I know that someone is going to have to pay for this terrible decision and I highly doubt it will be her. I hate she's putting others in jeopardy
Please, Fez is not going anywhere soon. I just read an article where the characters were rated, and he was rated as NUMBER 1. I do not think the producers will kill him off. If anything I think Jules or Ali will be the first to die. However, I pray that no one dies, but we know that someone will.

On another note, Nate definitely doesn't love Cassie. He just wants to have her because she is easy, doesn't think too much by herself and has such low self esteem that if he ever abused her or cheated on her, he knows that she wouldn't do anything else than cry and then forgive him. It is a safe play for him bc he actually IS very insecure. That is why he chose cassie, she is the complete opposite of Maddy, who did drive him crazy, bc in a way there is only so much bs that she would put up with . Nate is such a narcissist that he WANTS cassie, not loves, WANTS. He blames maddy, and says that she is the reason that he was the way he was, abusive, toxic, etc. But that is just bc he doesn't want to acknowledge that HE is the monster regardless of who he is with.

Tbh, I thought Cassie would’ve already did that type of beauty ritual for herself before this Nate situation? Just with her own style and probably not as intense ofc. I’m hoping that if she eventually wakes up and chooses to focus on herself, then she can use skin/body care (and maybe ice skating if she chooses to get back into it) as a way to stay grounded and learn about herself more since it seems she actually likes it!
There's a part we missed where they say Cassie had depression and didn't shower or care about herself 😔 so while it's awful it's all for Nate she has a sense of purpose now
What’s sad is that I don’t even think Jules likes Elliot, she’s just thrown off by the fact that someone is giving more attention to Rue than her and I feel like that’s why she’s playing into the flirting heavily. I feel like that lil love triangle is going to end with all of them falling out HARD, especially since Jules doesn’t realize how Rue and Elliot are taking serious drugs together
Literally all the characters are going bonkers. Rue is not as mesmerised with Jules anymore so she doesn't see the need to stop drugs just for her. It really shows how addiction and drugs are really ruining her life. Like the way how she treated Gia and then Ali was so hurtful because of the strong relationships these characters had before. Rue's little drug dealer shenanigan is obviously going to fail and I'm soooo scared to see the consequences of that. I mean at least Kat isn't doing so badly .Nate and Cassie and Maddie- don't let me even start there.
This episode was so dark but had so many funny parts. That whole Oklahoma scene was hilarious. Also I really like the opening about cal, it was really sweet and I like young cal
Elliot is by farrr the messiest person. He don’t care about enabling Rue since they both do drugs. He low key playing puppet master w/ Rue and Jules and idk if he purposely doing it.
How can this be a filler like imagine watching the next episode and just seeing Rue's room full of drugs we don't know about. Same thing goes for Cal's injury and Nate ending up at Maddies.
Something about this season is irking me. Every character i liked is becoming unlikeable and every character i hated is becoming bearable. Like why did they do my girl Cassie so bad...and they had to go and make me feel bad for Cal.
I think its to portray the real life implications things like drug use and abusive, toxic relationships will cause. I think they saw how much the last season got romanticised especially with characters like Rue and Cassie now they are showing the reality behind the decisions the characters made so the show isn’t seen isn’t seen through the same lense as season 1
I don’t think Rue wants to get too close to Ali simply because she’s already lost her dad. And the idea of having another father figure that could leave would crush her.
Even though this episode was difficult mentally for the characters themselves, it was quite possibly my favorite episode of the *entire series* so far because of how *funny* it was. The jokes were ON for this one.
rue is not a clown, she's a drug addict. a teenage one at that. if her actions make you mad, the writers are doing a good job. rue is one of the most accurate depictions of how being a drug addict not only fundamentally changes you as a person, but also ruins your entire relationships with others
I just cantttt with the fact that rue was like "what if i could do drugs for free?" ahh yes, great! Let's mess with $10.000 dollars worth of drugs and probably get myself killed, like ??????? Girl, IF you mess up (which everyone knows she will) then run to Fez for help and somehow he dies i'm gonna be pissed. I hope she hits rockbottom but not through Fez dying
I honestly think that Faye is gonna snitch later on, there's no way she, fez and ash did get all this information from Cal for nothing. Also, I love how they are portraying Rue's addiction and the fact that is making everyone pissed means that they are doing a great job.
Ashtray has been raised as a baby in a home with this type of dangerous, violent, illegal activity and that’s the reason he’s the way he is. Fez is more normal because was older before he went to live with his grandma. I feel like the show is foreshadowing ashtray getting into serious trouble bcs he’s always getting involved and being extra violent bcs of his childhood. He will probably be killed

It was clear that they were physically attracted to each other, but it wasn't the point of focus in their relationship. What's even more interesting is that both Cal and Derek were having sexual (but emotionless???) relationships with women, while having this deep, tender romantic connection with each other. Usually, it would be portrayed the pther way around. By the way, what's your opinion on Cal and Marsha? Do you think Cal felt some sort of love or at least genuine affection towards her? He did enjoy having sex with her at least, but were there any feelings?
I actually don’t think it’s weird that Rue and Jules hadn’t been intimate yet. A) There is no timetable for sex in relationship and they’re both so young. B) Jules is just now reconciling with her feelings towards women and how she views her sexuality now that she’s not trying to please men. C) Rue cannot form healthy attachments for shit sooo I’m not surprised that she wouldn’t be jumping to he vulnerable with someone physically.

I loved this episode. Loved that they played with the 4th wall, loved the costume and make up, the plot set up, dialogue, emotion provoking confrontations….. it was a great episode from an artistic perspective
I don’t think rue is actually going to deal drugs, she just wanted a way to get drugs for free. That’s why when the lady said she’ll get her money back one way or another, rue’s got scared because she’s now gonna have to find a way to make money to pay her back

I feel like at some point Nate and Jules will have to intersect after these lust triangles everyone's involved in ends. Cal has resentment towards his kids and I think especially Nate because he feels like they stole the life he wanted from him. Cal's backstory was a Parallel to Nate's life now because Nate and Cal are a distorted reflection of one another, but Cal might have sympathy for Nate now knowing about his "secret" love for Jules mirrors his own feelings for Derek. Nate is using Cassie as a tool to taunt Cal because he wants him to see that he'll never be the man they're both pretending to be and Nate is definitely using Maddy to get that disk back. I think Jules will try to use sex to control the relationship dynamic between Rue and Elliot because she thinks that's the reason they're close. When she realizes the extent of Rue's relapse and that she's helped Elliot get what he wanted which is a physical relationship with Rue, this could be the perfect storm to push Jules towards Nate who I feel might give her that disk, potentially in retaliation against Cal who I think might confront Nate about his feeling for Jules. There's too many chess pieces moving that suggest Nate and Jules will link up at some point.

My exact thoughts! They have given us subtle scenes that hint that they're heading towards each other, first Jule's special episode where she admits that she's in love with Nate or who Nate pretended to be (which I suspect is in part the real guy). And after in ep 2 when Nate fantasizes about his "perfect live" how Jules images just slipped, like he unconsciously is thinking about her, the fact that Fez had told Cal plainly and in his face that Nate's in love with Jules just confirms everything, but the fact that no one is talking about it, is in the details but you can clearly see it! Then everyone will be surprised when the fact comes down but the show keeps telling every chapter that these two are connected!

I really feel like I relate to Rue in so many ways. I’m an addict myself and am currently struggling. I feel like in season 1 she thought the love of her life would be all that she needs and she would be happy but now she has both dr*gs and Jules (idk what we’re allowed to comment), and she still doesn’t feel satisfied… and I feel the same way it’s just crazy and how she explained to Gia how she feels without dr*gs is exactly how I feel but I know I’m not the only addict who feels this way obviously it’s just something I felt I wanted to say and to anyone else struggling please be safe and prayers to all 🙏🏼
I heard a theory about Kat and Ethan, where Ethan is the guy behind the black screen from season 1. If you think about it, it would kinda make sense because Ethan is obsessed with Kat and if it's not like that, then the scene with the anonymous guy would be totally unnecessary (i dont think it's that important, but it's an interesting theory)
I finally caught up on Euphoria. I've been depressed lately so I couldn't watch it just yet but I felt great today so I finally watched every episode since the season started. I've missed how messy these characters are and I'm done feeling bad for them.
I was so mad when Rue flared up on Ali. That was just messed up. The scene with Fez and Cal was hilarious, I kept on replaying it 😭😭. I highly enjoyed this ep, dk why people were hating on it 😟

Also I’m thinking it’s Rues funeral in episode 4 from the promo it can’t be Ali’s because he’s Muslim and Elliot and Jules don’t know Ali so why would they be their? I think Rue finds out Elliot and Jules like each other and she’s so distraught she takes drugs and is over dosing and we’re seeing a dream sequence while she’s going over - I’m also thinking that’s labyrinth in the church potentially making a cameo as a preacher or something like that
I loved this episode. For me, the most eye opening and touching scenes were Cal’s backstory and everything between him and Derek. Acted out so beautifully!!! Can’t wait for the next ep
I'm almost less worried that Rue will end up failing at selling the drugs and more worried that she won't be able to stop herself from using the products since they were basically given to her for "free" and that that is what will end up getting her in serious trouble

Let's not forget the masterpiece that was the scene in the girls bathroom. Everything from the moment Cassie said "Rue Rue" them being concerned that she relapsed. I love seeing all the Girls together being friends, it's so many fun dynamics to play with bc besides Jules they've all known each other since they were kids. Even though they might not all be super close it's still a familiarity and a comfort they get from one another. I need more of that! A girls night out, Sleepover, a trip to Oklahoma SOMETHING!

I think it will be fez because in ep 1 the lady drug dealer asked him "do you trust her," and he said "with my life." This will def foreshadow in later eps.

Please, Fez is not going anywhere soon. I just read an article where the characters were rated, and he was rated as NUMBER 1. I do not think the producers will kill him off. If anything I think Jules or Ali will be the first to die. However, I pray that no one dies, but we know that someone will.

On another note, Nate definitely doesn't love Cassie. He just wants to have her because she is easy, doesn't think too much by herself and has such low self esteem that if he ever abused her or cheated on her, he knows that she wouldn't do anything else than cry and then forgive him. That is why he chose cassie, she is the complete opposite of Maddy, who did drive him crazy, bc in a way there is only so much bs that she would put up with

Nate is such a narcissist that he WANTS cassie, not loves, WANTS. He blames maddy, and says that she is the reason that he was the way he was, abusive, toxic, etc. But that is just bc he doesn't want to acknowledge that HE is the monster regardless of who he is with.

Literally all the characters are going bonkers. Rue is not as mesmerised with Jules anymore so she doesn't see the need to stop drugs just for her. It really shows how addiction and drugs are really ruining her life. Like the way how she treated Gia and then Ali was so hurtful because of the strong relationships these characters had before. Rue's little drug dealer shenanigan is obviously going to fail and I'm soooo scared to see the consequences of that. I mean at least Kat isn't doing so badly .Nate and Cassie and Maddie- don't let me even start there.

I think they saw how much the last season got romanticised especially with characters like Rue and Cassie now they are showing the reality behind the decisions the characters made so the show isn’t seen isn’t seen through the same lense as season 1

Fez is more normal because was older before he went to live with his grandma. I wholeheartedly agree with you. It was really surprising to see on Euphoria and truly refreshing. It was clear that they were physically attracted to each other, but it wasn't the point of focus in their relationship. What's even more interesting is that both Cal and Derek were having sexual (but emotionless???) relationships with women, while having this deep, tender romantic connection with each other. Usually, it would be portrayed the pther way around.
By the way, what's your opinion on Cal and Marsha? Do you think Cal felt some sort of love or at least genuine affection towards her? He did enjoy having sex with her at least, but were there any feelings?
I actually don’t think it’s weird that Rue and Jules hadn’t been intimate yet. A) There is no timetable for sex in relationship and they’re both so young. B) Jules is just now reconciling with her feelings towards women and how she views her sexuality now that she’s not trying to please men. C) Rue cannot form healthy attachments for shit sooo I’m not surprised that she wouldn’t be jumping to he vulnerable with someone physically.

I don’t think rue is actually going to deal drugs, she just wanted a way to get drugs for free. That’s why when the lady said she’ll get her money back one way or another, rue’s got scared because she’s now gonna have to find a way to make money to pay her back

Cal has resentment towards his kids and I think especially Nate because he feels like they stole the life he wanted from him.
Cal's backstory was a Parallel to Nate's life now because Nate and Cal are a distorted reflection of one another, but Cal might have sympathy for Nate now knowing about his "secret" love for Jules mirrors his own feelings for Derek.
Nate is using Cassie as a tool to taunt Cal because he wants him to see that he'll never be the man they're both pretending to be and Nate is definitely using Maddy to get that disk back.
I think Jules will try to use sex to control the relationship dynamic between Rue and Elliot because she thinks that's the reason they're close. When she realizes the extent of Rue's relapse and that she's helped Elliot get what he wanted which is a physical relationship with Rue,
this could be the perfect storm to push Jules towards Nate who I feel might give her that disk, potentially in retaliation against Cal who I think might confront Nate about his feeling for Jules.
There's too many chess pieces moving that suggest Nate and Jules will link up at some point.

My exact thoughts! They have given us subtle scenes that hint that they're heading towards each other, first Jule's special episode where she admits that she's in love with Nate or who Nate pretended to be (which I suspect is in part the real guy). And after in ep 2 when Nate fantasizes about his "perfect live" how Jules images just slipped, like he unconsciously is thinking about her, the fact that Fez had told Cal plainly and in his face that Nate's in love with Jules just confirms everything, but the fact that no one is talking about it, is in the details but you can clearly see it! Then everyone will be surprised when the fact comes down but the show keeps telling every chapter that these two are connected!

I really feel like I relate to Rue in so many ways. I’m an addict myself and am currently struggling. I feel like in season 1 she thought the love of her life would be all that she needs and she would be happy but now she has both dr*gs and Jules (idk what we’re allowed to comment), and she still doesn’t feel satisfied… and I feel the same way it’s just crazy and how she explained to Gia how she feels without dr*gs is exactly how I feel but I know I’m not the only addict who feels this way obviously it’s just something I felt I wanted to say and to anyone else struggling please be safe and prayers to all 🙏🏼
I heard a theory about Kat and Ethan, where Ethan is the guy behind the black screen from season 1. If you think about it, it would kinda make sense because Ethan is obsessed with Kat and if it's not like that, then the scene with the anonymous guy would be totally unnecessary (i dont think it's that important, but it's an interesting theory)
