Plenty of people who go Into a relationship without kids involved at all also have high invested relatiosnhips that fail for one reason or another. "Marrying a single mother" is not the mistake, the mistake is misjudging the character of the person and assuming they share your goals. The same mistake dudes make with non-single mothers. Also, "legacy" is overrated- in 100 years no one will GAF about you, even your own great-grandchildren, despite the fact they are direct descendants of you. I’m 26, I graduated with my masters in May just to get shafted and fired from my job in July and not by a small company mind you. It felt like everything was crashing down and now I’m starting essentially from rock bottom, ofc I have my masters but I don’t have corporate work experience and looking for something entry level in this economy has been tough.
But even then I still have to say that this is better than working a job that doesn’t value you and that doesn’t develop you in the way you’re looking for. Despite some of the resentment I still feel I know that I have an opportunity to become someone I want to be and adding those building blocks has only empowered me to move forward in this uncertain time.

You don’t actually realise it until you fall off yourself. Then it hits you - Wow. I never expected that to happen to me. I always thought I was well adjusted and more than mentally capable. I’m ok, but I did find things got on top of me and I did wobble. But luckily I’m ok. I had good job, good wife, kids etc. Then just before Christmas many many years back got made redundant. No job, no money, mortgages and kids and bills and loans and no job. It’s few months before Christmas so nobody is hiring. Christmas was ….
I had no money kids asked “does Santa not like us as next door have loads of presents “
Ended up on a dreadful job, half the salary, really not great. I can’t put in the swear words here as comments will be removed. But ok life didn’t turn out the way I expected but hey I got through and I’m ok

It does feel like starting over. However, in time it gets better (as everyone tells you), way better in fact. The most important thing is having the same mentality you exhibit in this video. Focusing on the positives, growth, and change. My divorce was the hardest thing I ever went through, but the most important and positively impactful part of my life (so far) as well. As an older generation male we were all taught in our lives to swallow our feelings swallow the pain swallow the sadness and put on a brave face we were taught not to share our feelings or talk about them we all go through tough times, we all have depression and sadness in our lives especially now with the world we're living in and how tough times are. There are two things you need to focus on right now Mike and that is your mental health and your Financial well-being. If I could I would shake your hand and give you a hug and tell you it's all going to be okay

So, i did exactly what you are doing now, did an introspection, got angry with myself and started doing the right thing, putting shxxt together, its doable bruh, its very doable, you can have a kid/s of your own at your age, infact at your age, you can start all over again, you’re not 66 bruh!!!
