Laurie, I love this so much!!! 💖 absolutely a pleasure getting to work with Emilie & Lukas on bringing their dream cake to life 🥹💖 thank you for choosing me to be a little part of their big day. 🌷
I just subscribed to your channel! Your art background and the beautiful results are stunning and I can't wait to see more from you! 🌻 Following from Seattle!
Wow! Do Alexandria and her team ever get a day off? I just can't imagine the time it takes to make one of those cakes. I'm blown away. True artistry. Her cakes belong in a museum.
I can now understand why wedding cakes can cost so much, the amount of behind the scene hours aside from the time to make the cake completely makes me understand the cost especially for there will to provide a service like Alexandra did
Omg! I can't believe she had an actual tornado hit on her wedding day! That's so devastating but I'm glad she made the most of it and was still able to get married!! Cake was beautiful. I would have picked the same choice. Congratulations 😊
Dude! I love your friend's attitude about the chaos during her wedding. Props to her for having optimism about the whole thing. She's such a trooper. My wedding, we had to find a way to get out of a blizzard that nearly had us trapped inside the venue where we were staying. We had to get married in our yard just below the snowfall line. It was Springtime in Arizona for crying out loud! 😂
I was wondering what a 3000$ cake would be like and I really understood it when I saw the entire package. Like, the tastings, the consulting, your specific wishes and the HOURS AND DAYS she spent on that. Wow. I'm an artist myself and I know it's really controversial how you put a price on art. But after seeing some of this huge process, I can imagine it was justified.

I really loved that Alexander actually filmed the baking of the cake, and talked through some of what she was doing. That is going above and beyond for you and your channel. Those flowers were over the top AMAZING! That cake was AMAZING! WTF? Is up with the tornado though! It looks like they managed to have an amazing wedding anyway. I just realized I am a year late to this show... LOL
What a beautiful cake. Loved that she vlogged some of the steps she went through to make the cake……those flowers are amazing , it was fun to see some of the process. Unbelievable that the venue was able to regroup after the storm and still be able to host a wedding….plus the wedding photos looked beautiful.
Thanks for coming and saying hi!!! You guys all pulled everything together at the venue amazingly and really helped us all make the best of the situation!
Can we just talk about what a kind and loving person Lori is. She is so thoughtful. She is one of my dream people to meet. ❤️ 🍰 Also congratulations to you, Emilie and Luke, the newlyweds 💒 ❤️. God bless 🙏 ❤️
oh my god....as I continued watching the video , I almost fell off my chair when you showed clips of the tornado ripping through her venue.....I would have lost my mind....the cake was gorgeous , and the flowers on the cake were even more beautiful than real flowers.....just a beautiful wedding...congrats to the bride and groom....even though the storm caused some damage , it looked like it was a beautiful wedding and looked like everyone had a good time....looking forward to your wedding
You were not joking! Her sugar flower work is BEAUTIFUL!!! Makes me want to get married again…. Well no, but at least have a wedding cake!! EDIT… that photo with Olive in the wedding dress was precious! Can you imagine if when she gets married? Sorry to hear about the storm!
it's always something! I was married on a cruise and it crashed into the port. it can never just be the perfect day. what a gorgeous bride and what an amazing friend you are doing this for her!!!
Both the wedding dress and the bridesmaid dress are stunning, the baby is so darn cute grinning from the middle of the bed tucked in the dress, and Emily is incredibly lucky the storm hit before the ceremony rather than during the ceremony.
That cake was absolutely stunning, and the flower work was beyond belief. Those flowers looked more beautiful than real ones! That baker is worth every penny of what she was paid!
Those roses and flowers for the final cake is out of this world. They look so realistic, that I am super super impressed. You will be shocked to find out that in my marriages, I never had the opportunity to choose my own cake, and the cakes we did get, were simplistic and did not cost much. The 'did not cost much' part, I am fine with, it is more disheartening to know I never picked a cake.
Can you imagine her telling little Olive about this when she grows up! I am so happy everything worked out in the end and they got married OK. The cake is beyond words WOW! Made my day. You go girls!
I love the fact you used your platform to combine helping your best friend but also you’re able to get sponsored to help cover costs! Jusg a lovely thing to do ❤️
This was so amazing of you, and honestly the fact she had a newborn and a puppy, yet still tried to pursue making this on her own was amazing. And a tornado hit on her wedding day? Wow- But still Laurie & Emily you both are so amazing :) You’re bond seems so beautiful!
It's so sweet of you to do this for your friend 😀 thank you for sharing the process, the cake looks amazing! I can't believe the hurricane on Emilie's wedding day 😳 I'm glad she was still able to get married and you both looked beautiful 🥰
Wow Alexandria is an artist for sure. That cake was gorgeous and those flowers were so realistic. My god what talent. And what an awesome friend you are to give your friend that for her wedding. Great great video.
Here is an idea: what if you did the 3 bakery making an expensive cake/ vs you AND you had them vlog their experience similar to how you did in this video! Sure it would be a longer video but that would be super cool 😅 and you made your own version of the cake idea without seeing theirs!!!
My husband and I made our wedding cake. It was actually really fun to spend that special time together. It was way cheaper too. Just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary this last week. 💕
All these people spending fortunes making their special day look like everyone else's special day with the same standard venue. Wedding receptions should all take place in the church's musty, dimly lit basement with an adequate cake made by a family friend you exploit for a free labor.
I wouldn't have thought it possible, but I have to admit that cake was actually worth 3000 dollars! That was a fantastic piece of art, and the artist spent a lot of time and effort just to reach the state of being able to offer to make the cake, and then spent many more hours and energy on the basics of creating the different items that combined into a cake. On top of that, she brought the cake personally and took her time to assemble it where it would be viewed, and the result was definitely visual perfection. Wish I could have tasted, it sure looks like nothing is s accidental or just assembly line about any detail of each layer of cake, so it must have been as good on the inside as on the outside!
What a BREATHTAKING cake! I have never seen such an amazing cake. True artistry. Emilee! That must have been so distressing to go through a weather disaster like that but you have such a great attitude. You were a beautiful bride.
I don’t know how you all managed to go on with the wedding after that storm. We got it here too! No warnings! Fortunately the cake survived. It was truly a work of art.
I love that they just gave the cake artist ideas and colors for the wedding cake, then they gave her creative freedom to do the rest. All artist love having creative freedom. While it does seem hard to justify thousands of dollars for a cake, this is every cake artists dream come true, a $3,000 budget, plus creative freedom. This is an artists playground, this is what makes them love doing what they do., and when people love what they do, they do it a lot better. When artist are hired and told exactly what to make, it isn’t nearly as fun, and the finish product often doesn’t turn out as magical, because the artist is creating someone else’s design and not their own, and their own creative ideas don’t get used which feels very frustrating for creative people. There is something very magical about giving an artist an idea, a large budget then letting their imagination go wild and letting them push their own artistic limits. I am also glad that they are using their platform to really feature the artist they hired, and they are able to celebrate her for her talents and hard work.
This was sweet of you!! The cake is so expensive but in my case 100000% worth it! And seems like it was worth it here too! Those flowers were beyond!!! However she’s like I didn’t get to try all the flavors at the wedding lol like do people typically have more than one slice of cake?
Oh no so sorry to hear about your friend’s wedding day, thankfully everyone was okay during that storm. The cake is absolutely stunning, she did such an incredible job. Congratulations to your friend, May God continue bless this union.
The wedding cake is absolutely gorgeous. The different colors, textures and the height of the cake work so well together. The flowers are so realistic looking they give the cake that extra touch. I really need to thank you for sharing your struggles with depression and anxiety and providing me with a chance at real help. Since my husband passed away I've been lost and my mental health has been taking toll on me. Betterhelp sounds perfect for me. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
Can I just say how much I appreciate how you stay real and use your platform to give back to your friends? So many content creators become entitled and forget that they are people. They stop recognizing the friends and community they can give back to. I don’t see that about the content you put out there. For you to offer your expertise and monetary gains to elevate your friends day, even through a freaking tornado, just goes to show how exceptional you are. I wish nothing but blessings for your life, and I know this year was a tough one, but you are strong and resilient- and don't ever forget it! 💓💗♥️
Honestly seeing that hurricane footage made me want to cry for the bride and groom! We had to cancel our wedding so many times, go from a destination wedding to a home wedding and then (despite it being the end of July) it rained all day. We had a wonderful, amazing day but even I found those setbacks tricky to deal with at the time. I can't even imagine what emotions a tornado would bring. Congrats to Emily and her husband - if you can go through that on your special day, your married life will be a walk in the park!
The cake was gorgeous!!!! Loooove the flowers and the ripped edge look just makes me happy. Also the vanilla with lemon curd? Solid choice. My best friend had that and then a chocolate with raspberry at their wedding. Super tasty.
Alexandria is gifted. GIF👏TED👏 Those flowers look real, the cake is stunning, and it all tasted amazing. Her beauty radiates from within and into what she does. I will definitely be following her business from now on!❤
We also had carrot cake as one of the layers for my wedding cake! It's my husband's absolute favorite flavor, but he prefers it with regular buttercream frosting instead of cream cheese frosting. Very unexpected for a wedding cake, especially with no cream cheese frosting or filling, but a hit nonetheless!
As a fellow depressed/anxious person, who is also a retired therapist, I am very glad that you have benefited from therapy and achieved relief. Blessings!
You are a good friend. The sugar flowers are incredible! I think the sweet peas should have been a slightly different color or shade to stand out more from the roses.
I've been binge watching your channel for the last few weeks and I'm in with it all... I'm so happy here and I have been so inspired to start my channel soon🥰🥰🥰... I Love You Laurie
Oh my gosh! The cake looks SO good, you and you friend Emilie REALLY have a good eye, (and tastebuds) when it comes to cakes! AMAZING JOB and also CONGRATULATIONS!!
*Hey friend I got my relationship fixed back with the help of a man who brought my partner back in 48 hours after many years of seperation. This is how to say thank you to him by telling other people that needs help like me.
Very beautiful wedding even with the storm. The cake seemed perfect for what she asked. Baby in the dress was to much cuteness. She was such a humble lady ❤️. You're a great friend for this.
Wowsers…it poured torrential rain on my wedding day. Didn’t stop until 1 am when we left the reception!! Can’t imagine a tornado 😩😩 Thank goodness you were able to carry on despite everything!! But it’s true about “good luck” getting married in the rain. 45 years married for me this year, still going strong. The bride looked stunning. The cake was gorgeous, matching perfectly. All the sugar flowers 💐 were absolutely beautiful. Great choice on the decorator. 👍
not a baker so maybe thats why im so amazed but those flowers look so real! how anyone manages to hand make them let alone that amount is amazing. bakers are truly awesome artists.
What an amazing cake artist! Reminds me of a local cake artist friend Jehonna. She is so amazingly talented, makes the most delicate flowers and aesthetic cakes 😍
It's beautiful! They did a great job! 😍 (I had to watch this muted, so I have no idea what was said, but I would be extremely happy with that gorgeous cake!) 💖💖💖
That cake is absolutely stunning, but the storm stole the show IMO. Who else can say that a tornado hit an hour before their wedding? That's pretty cool, if you ask me. Especially since Emilie and Hubby refused to bow to the weather gods or take any hints, and got married anyway.
Great video!!! So glad you could give her this special gift. The cake maker is so talented. Never knew all that went into wedding cake making such as days, a week, or even putting final decorations at the venue instead of before. Really cool and fascinating
Often, it feels like people pay far too much for a wedding cake that isn't that special--or even exactly right. This cake is PERFECTION! And that makes it worth every penny ❤ I consider myself very frugal; I'm also happy to pay fair price for quality. This is absolute ART and watching it be created was fascinating, too. Love your channel! 😊
The cake was gorgeous, the bride beautiful, and I couldn't stop myself from thinking... 10 minutes before the wedding, a storm of all storms blows through, tearing everything up, and I couldn't help but see a similarity between the storm and the "torn" fondant. Seems more than icing was torn that day. Holy cow!

That cake was absolutely amazing. The baker is great at her job. That’s a cake that I’d love for my wedding and wouldn’t change a thing.
Thank you for sharing with us about your anxiety and depression. You are inspiring and thoughtful
Very beautiful wedding even with the storm. The cake seemed perfect for what she asked. Baby in the dress was to much cuteness. She was such a humble lady ❤️. You're a great friend for this.
The pic being taken with the baby and the gown.. I died, so adorable!
Then a tornado 😯 And that cake was stunning!! Wow.
The cake was amazing !!!!! Congratulations wishing you much happiness
What a beautiful cake. Even admist the trauma of tornadoes, a fabulous day/wedding. Well done to all involved.
What an amazing cake artist! Reminds me of a local cake artist friend Jehonna. She is so amazingly talented, makes the most delicate flowers and aesthetic cakes 😍
OH. MY. GOD. That cake is GORGEOUS.
That cake was breathtaking. BREATHTAKING!!!!! What a talent.
The best type of therapy for me is getting into baking and then seeing my husband and son enjoy eating what I have baked.
Great video, cake was BEAUTIFUL. Weather breaking forecast was hilarious…I was wondering if something was wrong with my video. Great storytelling! 🤣👍
omg. this is the most beautiful cake ive ever seen!
Congratulations Emily, Luke and Olive 🥳 the wedding cake is stunning 🤩 the most beautiful one i ever seen! Best video of the year 💖
Beautiful cake….congrats to the happy couple! Wishing them, and as always you, the very best!💖
Laurie! You are so generous and kind! Also, congratulations Emilie!
It's beautiful! They did a great job! 😍 (I had to watch this muted, so I have no idea what was said, but I would be extremely happy with that gorgeous cake!) 💖💖💖
Is no-one gonna talk about how cute Olive is?
Okay right??? Legit the true star of the show!
@@TheIcingArtist oh my god! I did not expect you to reply at all yet alone so quickly! I absolutely LOVE your videos and cakes ❤
Cake was beautiful! Those flowers were amazing! It was fun when you showed us the sketches…and the one that was picked was my favorite one too!💜
Often, it feels like people pay far too much for a wedding cake that isn't that special--or even exactly right. This cake is PERFECTION! And that makes it worth every penny ❤ I consider myself very frugal; I'm also happy to pay fair price for quality. This is absolute ART and watching it be created was fascinating, too. Love your channel! 😊
What a sweetheart and what a great friend you are! ❤️ Alexandria and her team are INCREDIBLE!!!
Holy cow!
I still would love to see you order a Carlo’s Bakery cake, especially since there is now a location in Port Credit!!!
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The cake turned out Beautifully. All the detail and care and artistry. Wow. And your friend seems as lovely as you.
That wedding cake is so beautiful! I can’t get over it! And the colors are just perfect 😍 Also the flowers look so stunning and hyper realistic.
Beautiful such a blessing ❤
Anyone else find themselves watching olive instead of the cakes lol what a little darling
Me LOL!!
The way olive is laying there just chilling while there on FaceTime was so funny 😭 he’s too chill 💕
This was so adorable to watch and that cake was worth the money 😍😍
