What a terrific surprise on this glorious Good Friday to have a new LiFe in Pines video to watch! The sounds the lake was making were so awesome! I loved it when the pooch took the shovel handle, and I'm so glad Ted didn't get hurt! Loved the part about the Cherry Tigers! We are in southwest lower Michigan and just had the boys basketball team from a school in our county win the state championship in their division! Everyone was a Bobcat that day and, today, all of us cones, nuts, and needles are Cherry Tigers! Love you guys! P.S. Finley(sp?) is bad to the bone!

Hi Jenna and Ted; it’s one of your faithful cones dropping in to see what you’re doin’ today 🌲. I found your video particularly enjoyable today. All the random scenes you included throughout probably made the editing that much more challenging for you Jenna, but it was very enjoyable and I thank you for the extra effort. I enjoyed seeing CJ, Finley and Clifford in their respective scenes and of course your very complementary green gear. The deck looks fantastic and the extra effort and attention to detail you two gave around the trees made a big difference. It just ties everything together beautifully. It certainly took a lot of work on the stairs, but in the long run it was a good use of an existing resource and it works perfectly. As a suggestion, if you apply a little liquid dish soap or wax to the threads or shank of screw or lag they will go in a whole lot easier! I look forward to seeing if you are going to put some sort of a cable railing on the deck or what your plans are for that. Congratulations to the Cherry boys basketball team for their first ever State Title, and a shout out to Noah and Isaac Asuma for their contributions in the 38 point blowout! Noah in particular, who was on fire with 22 points! I liked the scene where Clifford would grab the rope and walk it up and then sit on the tree stump and Finley pushed it back down again - fun. Great idea on the stairs just a lot of digging between the shovel ,axe and hand tools now we wait for the spring thaw and the digging again but hopefully not . The sound from the lake was eerie and Huzzy Lake where my place is on does the same with the thaw and freeze cycle.Teds tutorial is correct on not using WD 40 on the garage it gums up quickly when it gets cold. Thanks Ted. I know you guys are going to get blasted with a snow storm there, Arizona got the rain and wind and went from the 80’s back to the low 60’s quick,that’s why us snow birds are still here and hopefully head back East the end of April. Gotta love the Christmas Vacation one liners! lol! yes- the all natural soot/dirt blush! maybe it'll be come a thing! Yeah we may or may not have to readjust the stairs... but we will definitely wait until the ground is thawed, that's for sure! Yeah when the lake was making ice, it was honestly kind of hard to leave because it was so cool, but then we ended up being able to hear it from the treehouse site! Oh and yes, we learned that lesson about wd-40! It just attracts dirt and dust and makes things worse! Yes we got over 10" in 4 days but it's already melting fast! Don't blame you for staying south! We hope to someday become snowbirds! This southern girl needs that early spring warmth and sun! It was so cool that the Tigers won! Wished we could've been there, but watching our own daughter run in her first varsity meet as a 7th grader was a good tradeoff. We hope you had a wonderful easter, and have a blessed week ahead! I saw a video of a fellow in Florida (@DIYfferent) building a porch using deck boards. He tacked screen underneath the porch to dissuade insects from crawling through the cracks.

Love the flooring. Next one you build. Don't put the planks so close to the tree trunks. The trees need room to grow and they will tear up the flooring as they grow. Love those stairs too. Why can't you use WD40?
Yes! We have had others comment about this! We may have to cut them back sooner rather than later! Thanks for the great tip! WD-40 is a solvent meant for water displacement and it will attract all kinds of dust and grime, making it very hard on all the hardware in your garage door. I believe WD-40 makes a garage lubricant type product though! I just couldn’t find it at my local place. hope this helps! We really appreciate your comment and we hope you have a great week! 🌲😊❤️
A tree grows up too 23" in diameter. You might want to take that into your build. As I didn't leave enough room for growth. I only allowed 1and 1/2 " in. Five years later I had to recut it again.

Jenna runs the Airbnb, RUclips, and homeschools our kids (and all the other things that come with being a parent. I (Ted) work at a local hospital as a X-ray/CT tech. 💀
Those stairs are going to move with the frost heave in the future. If bolted to the treehouse, they will do damage. This spring/summer you should remove the stairs, use a post hole digger to get below the frost line and pour some concrete for the stairs to sit on. At the very least a thick concrete pad with a good base of gravel to limit heaving.

Great idea on the stairs just a lot of digging between the shovel ,axe and hand tools now we wait for the spring thaw and the digging again but hopefully not . The sound from the lake was eerie and Huzzy Lake where my place is on does the same with the thaw and freeze cycle.Teds tutorial is correct on not using WD 40 on the garage it gums up quickly when it gets cold. I know you guys are going to get blasted with a snow storm there, Arizona got the rain and wind and went from the 80’s back to the low 60’s quick,that’s why us snow birds are still here and hopefully head back East the end of April. I saw a video of a fellow in Florida (@DIYfferent) building a porch using deck boards. He tacked screen underneath the porch to dissuade insects from crawling through the cracks.

Love the flooring. Next one you build. Don't put the planks so close to the tree trunks. The trees need room to grow and they will tear up the flooring as they grow. Love those stairs too. Why can't you use WD40?

WD-40 is a solvent meant for water displacement and it will attract all kinds of dust and grime, making it very hard on all the hardware in your garage door. I believe WD-40 makes a garage lubricant type product though! I just couldn’t find it at my local place. hope this helps! We really appreciate your comment and we hope you have a great week! 🌲😊❤️
A tree grows up too 23" in diameter. You might want to take that into your build. As I didn't leave enough room for growth. I only allowed 1and 1/2 " in. Five years later I had to recut it again.

What do or did you both work with outside kf the builds?
Jenna runs the Airbnb, RUclips, and homeschools our kids (and all the other things that come with being a parent. I (Ted) work at a local hospital as a X-ray/CT tech. 💀
Those stairs are going to move with the frost heave in the future. If bolted to the treehouse, they will do damage. This spring/summer you should remove the stairs, use a post hole digger to get below the frost line and pour some concrete for the stairs to sit on. At the very least a thick concrete pad with a good base of gravel to limit heaving.

It sure has been a weird late winter - spring. Our lakes over here in vilas county Wisconsin, were all the lake opened about 2 to 3 weeks ago. Then they refrozen, and the snow .
