I don't know about you guys, but these grey rainy days are really messing with our psyche! It seems like it's been weeks since we've had a sunny day, so Ted and I just decided that rain or shine... we're moving forward.
Since we've found out about our little gold mine- AKA Freeville Pit- AKA the county sand pit by our house, we couldn't help but revisit it for the newest project on the ALF.
We set out to build a fire pit FOR FREE using only materials we had on hand. Of course we ended up doing it in the rain and in the wind and I'll tell ya what... working in a rain jacket is no bueno. So we spent 2 days wet, soggy and cold, but we got 'er done! We also found TONS of Russian Squatters buried treasures while building this pit!
This was another labor of love, but Ted and I are SO happy with how it turned out! Squatters Heights is really coming together!

There will eventually be a walkway that goes through the fire pit area so we had to offset it slightly. It’ll look better once the walkway is in!

We do not have a merch store (yet). We had a cricket that we used to make some merch for ourselves (but it broke). We just haven’t had time to get together with a local company that we will be working with! We hope to have it up and running within the next few months 🤞🏼

You know if you guys design a "rain collection system" in the tree house, then you'll have your fresh water source for the bathroom and kitchen inside the tree house. Just a thought. And regarding power source, it's not just solar for electric, but you can also consider wind, if you mount a wind tourbine on the roof of your tree house structure, you can use wind power to convert to electric. Just a thought.
We have to tread very lightly around “pressurized water”. Anything to that extent, like even hanging gravity fed water tanks, requires a full-blown septic around here! We have some plans to have amenities though!

We had a 3 ft high culvert about 2 dug it down in the ground a foot and a half then surrounded the culvert that stuck out with field stones t[ keep small kids away from the culvert and getting burned,put a grill on top

Good morning Jenna and Ted 🌲 You didn't explain the dog collar, I hope all is well and healing up. Squatters Heights is really coming together and takes on more character with each of your added touches. I did't really notice the pit being off center until the overhead shot of it all done and layed out with chairs etc. I wasn't going to comment but saw that someone already broke that door down 🤪Maybe you could simply move the split fire wood over to the other "defined border" 😉; possibly two small piles spaced apart. That would make the spacing appear intentional. Clifford loves the quiet time and lovin' . Once again, nice job Jenna with assembling the random shots in the video. I really like them all but the big impact ones for me, as I"ve mentioned prevously, are the glassey shots of the lake. I could just sit or stand there for hours soaking in that sight. Jenna, you do sucha great job editing and producing your content. I know it takes a lot of time and effort and I just want to express my appreciation, thank you. You guys are really putting the Freeville Pit to good use. I enjoyed spending a little time with guys today and look forward to your next update. Have a great week and God bless!! Love it, just one suggestion, I would fasten the stones around the barrel with a mortar mix and conceal the barrel totally. It would look like a stone pit and you wouldn’t have to worry about the stones falling. Looks great, can’t wat to see what comes next.

I was glad to catch your video before l started my day. Anytime you can do a project for free and just your labor is awesome. Ted using the dead trees for a border was great and taking credit for it not bad that you thought of it.🤣One of my projects when l return to Michigan will be a sauna on the lake l just have to find a pontoon platform and build the sauna amongst other projects. I know my family will use it.Jenna you always seem to have your war paint on after a project. Never fails Ted always comes up with a line from that favorite movie ,awesome. . CJ has a cheap metal detector and it’s keeps them occupied for hours! There is so much stuff buried over in this part of our property! The squatter definitely did not believe in going to the dump!😝😂
