    Honey, you think your house is a mess, but I don't see a mess. I see a mom who prioritizes her kids over the house. I don't think any mother can say anything is wrong with that. The amount of times this creeps up on so many of us, it just happens overnight it seems sometimes. You got this. You are truly an amazingly good human.

    • @Kat-n-Ollie
      @Kat-n-Ollie Месяц назад +2

    • @mummyloves5robson634
      @mummyloves5robson634 29 дней назад +2

      You can do both. Having a clean home is also prioritising the kids. Anything else is just an excuse. Millions of people are neurodivergent. But us making excuses for our behaviour isn’t going to help. It takes harder work to create routines yes. But it’s not impossible. She is talking about one extreme to another. She needs to find the middle ground as she has said. There is a BIG difference between untidy and dirty. All kids deserve a clean home. It may be untidy at times, that’s life. But clean is really important for mental and physical wellbeing. Having people enable also isn’t helpful. Her house was in a real state. If social services was involved for any reason they would tell her she has to clean it more often. I can guarantee not all her time is focussed on the kids all the time. There will be lots of inactive time watching tv or other things. You have to make keeping your home one of your priorities. Not above your children, but alongside them. As a child who grew up in a dirty house I can tell you I was so embarrassed and it really affected my self esteem. I didn’t want friends over because I was ashamed. As someone who is on the spectrum I also know the difficulties. But I have also worked hard to overcome ones that can hurt not only my mental health, but they of my children.

    My mum accidentally got a kitchen bin that was far too small, so that we have to empty it at least once a day, often twice, because there's not much room in it. But it was a faff to replace it, so she just kept it 'for now'.
    Anyway, it turned out to be great and she hasn't gone back to a normal size bin, because nothing sits around long enough to smell!

      I grew up similar to you. Our house was almost model home quality. Dishes were done immediately after dinner and there was never a dish in the sink at bedtime. Though I was trained to keep a spotless house, it didn't carry over to my own home. I am cluttered but not dirty. The floors are constantly vacuumed because the dog sheds like crazy (love cordless stick vacuums). I try to keep the sink dish free but have no problem taking care of straggling dishes tomorrow. My adult son even washes his dishes as he goes so as not to have a bunch to do 😊
      Now, the laundry is a different story....☹️

    I grew up in a household where we had to deep clean every week. But cleaning was considered punishment. It wasn't presented as a healthy principle. So as I became an adult, I struggled with cleaning because I detested it. I would stay up latecleaning everyday and run the rest of the day on little to no sleep. I had to teach myself to clean through daily small tasks so that I wasn't overwhelmed at the end of the week. And that taking a break and knowing when you need rest is important as well. Remi, I appreciate you sharing your life and your mind with us. Your cleaning videos help me so much ❤!

    Remi, it’s like you’ve got a hidden to my life and you’re telling my story on RUclips. I love watching your videos. I’m currently in a difficult situation where I need to sell my home and move in to take care of my elderly father. I’m so overwhelmed by the pressure to get my house (that’s unbelievably messy) cleaned, packed up and ready to be sell. There’s additional pressure that I can’t leave him for long periods. I feel like if I could afford it, I’d pay for everything it would take to get you over to the USA to coach me. Unfortunately that’s not an option. But it would be a tremendous help for you and all your followers to say a word of prayer for my family. It feels almost impossible to find a way out of this hole I’m in. I have all the things she talks about, waiting mode, executive dysfunction etc etc and on top of that, about 14 years ago I had accidents and not live in a disability pension. What’s incredibly frustrating about it if that even when I get motivated there are some things I just have to avoid doing. I have to ask someone else to help but the only people I know (I don’t really have any friends) are my grown up kids and they’re too busy living their own lives so things sit undone and I feel like crap (mental health wise) about not being able to do them myself anymore.

    “Trying to finish something that you can’t finish” is SUCH a great way to categorize housework! My jewel of a fiancé (who is washing dishes right now because my back is crushing me) said yesterday that very thing! At some point we traded housework for a watch he wanted (he went above and beyond in our joint effort to keep the house clean, in exchange for a new watch). I told him I think he got cheated; he said ‘no’ because housework is never-ending and can never be ‘finished.’ 😂

    Well, I think I love you. It’s not just the soothing nature of your voice, or the positive vibes you bring, and it’s not just because you inspire me to be better about my own procrastination in regards to cleaning. And though I can relate completely with your experiences and I find in you a kindred spirit, that still not why I love you. It’s bc I feel your genuine spirit coming through, your honesty and kindness. Despite your self doubts and fears, I hope you become more confident and secure with each passing moment. Thank you for all you do.

    Omg when I read the title of the video I thought your sorting out the house that you had a fire in 🤦🏼‍♀️🙈
    But hey I know what it's like...a couple weeks ago (and I just like with my cat)
    I BARELY functioned as I went down with massive gum/wisdom tooth infection AND sinusitis...I was put on strong antibiotics...that KNOCKED me for 6!
    I was LOOPY, forgetful, sleeping alot...and no energy... Everything went to pot...my brother was being meals in, and the kitchen got TRASHED, washing piled, dishwasher stank (I'd load it up, be so exhausted I'd forget to turn on)
    I at the time taking part in Cass from Clutterbug's 30 day Declutter challenge...which I had to stop doing and filming for even my channel...
    In that week of madness...I had dentist appointment on the Tuesday, doctors on Wednesday (the ear pain was extremely painful)
    Thursday emergency Maxiifacial orthodontics appointment at hospital...and on the Friday Blue cat at the vets...
    By Thursday and Friday the SICKNESS feeling was SOOO bad..I couldn't talk..so bro DID step up and help me with hospital and vets!
    I did eventually get my house back piece by piece...
    And today is my birthday week off...I filmed 3 decluttering videos on my channel!! Edited and uploaded!...
    But today my lounge is a mess as I have my car having some repairs done this week ..so I dumped everything in the lounge!!!... The kitchens fine, now the tiny lounge is one huge mess 🤦🏼‍♀️

I lost my job 9 months ago and I thought I would be all over the house work and hobbies and YT but because my structure went out the window, things just got WORSE. I'm the worst I've ever been. The less I do, the less I do. I've slowed right down but these last 3 months I'm an absolute potato. I have no deadlines at all. It's worse since I went on heart medication a couple of years ago.
