@@kathryngardner9584 I’m in the states. Yes, it’s a vicious cycle. Depression causes mess, and mess causes depression. I’m slowly cleaning up as I can, with my husband’s help. But he’s a tiny bit of a hoarder, so that causes me anxiety.
There are all kinds of psychological disorders that create this problem. For my husband and tween son, it’s ADHD. For me, it’s bipolar 2 and ADHD-inattentive type.

@Sarah Lund, I feel the same. She is just a lovely, accepting young woman who is "life" wise beyond her years. Her advice is so very important, we're all wired different. Don't beat yourself up over your short comings, we all have them. Instead take great pride in all you do well,. Ask for help where you need and offer your help when you know it's needed. Friendships and families thrive by living like this, in a community.

So kind and considerate of you. Depression is no joke. I'm a naturally tidy person but when my mental health took a nose-dive, my home really suffered. However, because I like things to be clean and tidy, I spent a lot of time thinking about tidying the mess but finding I had no energy to do anything other than lie in bed. It became a vicious cycle where I kept wanting to clean up but lack of energy would prevent me and so I'd then feel even more demotivated. I'm glad that you're understanding of your aunt's situation and are helping her with this clean- I'm sure this means a lot to her!

I literally hear your voice in my head when I'm cleaning, telling me to keep going, telling me it's ok to break, & ok to stop & start again tomorrow, that was something I really struggled with, now I know it's not a race,& I don't have to be perfect. I watched the video of you cleaning your dad's place twice, you said a lot that really resonated with me, I'll probably watch it again today honestly lol. You are so inspiring & I can relate to so many things you talk about in your videos.

@@solangelalebron1348 I am a mental health worker, and no one can’t. The very words themselves are stigmatizing. “Lazy” can mean depression, executive dysfunction, procrastination for some reason you have no concepts of. It’s best no to judge nor use words like that, nor think you know.

@@occipitalneuralgia2339 Listen I was severely depressed AND injured, and I let my apart a mess in order to heal myself. But from time to time I had to just throw out the trash and pick up some stuff and do laundry. Also, it was messy but not dirty. Get it? When you throw the toilet paper that you just wiped yourself with on the floor over and over until it piles up into a mound of toilet paper or let animals like chickens roam around your home that is Laziness. There is a flaw with the character of the person. Because I know a lot of depressed people who don't let their homes look like that. Again, a mess, scattered items, laundry on the floor is depression. When you have Filth it is not, THAT is unhygienic, flaw in character, so EVEN IF that lady didn't happen to be depressed, she would STILL be dirty. Get it?

    • @ajourneywithmyfather1980

@@solangelalebron1348 you clearly don't understand the difference between being clinically depressed and feeling down because you are injured and can't do what you normally do. Clinical depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain that effects different people in different ways. Working in healthcare with those who are diagnosed as clinically depressed I've seen people so effected by the symptoms of fatigue that they couldn't summon the strength to eat, bathe or even get up to go to the bathroom. It's not unusual for people with major depression to find themselves surrounded by clutter including dirty dishes, clothes and even rubbish. Not only does depression make you fatigued but it also effects your memory, ability to focus, being easily overwhelmed, mood swings, anxiety and the feeling of despair. Any one or combination of those symptoms can paralyze a person. I pray you never have that experience.

I hear you on the sensory issues with dishes! I have to really prepare myself for it oftentimes. My tricks (so far) are to wear t-shirts (this has saved me on so many occasions from feeling overwhelmed. This way I don't have to continuously pull my sleeves up while my hands are wet) and only doing a small amount at once. I also tend to use warm water instead of hot. This helps a lot with the weird texture on my hands. I usually just use hot water if I need to soak something for a bit.

I loved how you spoke about executive dysfuction and how all of us are wired differently: what is easy for someone may not be as easy for another. Compassion goes a long way. For many people with ADHD or other executive dysfuction disorders, cleaning up someone else's space is much easier than cleaning their own. I went on Utube TV to watch house cleaning videos and you are my favorite 💕.
I have always been one to keep my house clean until I started going through depression I stopped cleaning my house 😢.
I feel it's making my depression worse.
I'm trying so hard to push myself 😞 into cleaning like you.
You are a beautiful person ❤️.
I watched the one of you cleaning your house while you were sick with a cold.
Bless your ❤️ and now you're aunt's house.
I used to be on Tik-Tok but I am not on it anymore so I'm glad I was able to find you I live in Orlando Florida you have a new subscriber keep making those videos and I'll keep watching❤

Dear Remi, thank you so much for your videos.
I have been struggling a long time for my house to get clean. And I have seen many videos of women cleaning their houses, but their houses were spotless. And I was so trying to get to that standard. When I saw your video for the first time. I was relieved that you have a normal house. Since I have seen your videos, I have done my kitchen. And now I am washing my pots in washing machine. You really made the change. Thank you. Greetings from Croatia.

I know this is an older video so I hope you still see comments! One of the best tips I ever read for children's artwork is to take a picture of them holding it when they bring it home. What you're keeping is the memory of how proud they were of their creation, not necessarily every single drawing. The blogger who shared the tip then made a book later on with pictures + some treasured artwork all in one place and it was so sweet.

Girls, you are just wonderful 🙏🏼 Your Aunt is blessed to have your help. I'm 60 and suffer from depression and health issues too. My family is four states away. Friends and neighbors say they'll help me, but put me off. The clutter attracts mice. Overwhelmed and don't know where to start. Bone on bone hips makes cleaning extremely painful and beyond slow. Fixed disability income. 10-12 bags of recycle to go to landfill dumpsters and bags of donation for Goodwill but no one will take it for me. So it's taking up space too. Feel helpless 😔 Who can I call that's trustworthy and can help me clean?

Sweetheart❤ what a blessing you are. I am depressive and disorganized and have timing issues. You are so open, sweet and honest.
Take care of your hands by reducing the heat of the water when you wash dishes etc. So much steam coming up means the water is too hot and is burning your skin. The washing up liquid will clean the dishes even in cold water, so just reduce the heat ❤❤❤❤❤

You are an awesome woman, always trying to find different ways to find what works for you. It's so nice of you to help your aunt like that. It will likely really brighten her world for some time. I struggle with depression and anxiety, so I know what it's like.
As far as driving is concerned, it took me 3 tries too. With what happened as you're pulling out of the lot, it's likely to do with nerves relating to the previous time that you weren't able to pass the test. You're strong & determined. You've got this!

Remi, you’re a good person with all you deal with personally. In the past I’ve helped family in the same ways, Because they just couldn’t, weren’t really able to. But that was in the long gone past I’m 73 now & then somehow you find yourself in the same type of spot & it seems no one’s there to help, all you can do I guess is the best you can.Thank you for your videos & encouragement. It helps.
