I went into this game thinking I would only be emotional when Tifa was on screen. Little did i know every VA would put their heart and soul into their characters who have expertly written dialogue. Barrett, Marlene, Jessie, Aerith, they all were (almost) as precious as my girl Tifa
Also, he never says he is talking about Cloud's mother when he says, " the sound of her voice pleading for me to spare you, the shiver of her flesh yielding to cold steal" Through out that sentence, there is no change in subject which he delivers in the line before those two. If THE PLANET should die, so many things would be lost, your hometown that burns so bright... The Planet is the subject, and who is the voice of the planet, and who died to Sephiroth's sword...
When Sephiroth tells Cloud "Run away, run away Cloud" I immediately thought of Scar and Simba! I love the music, environment detail and the extended depth of all the character stories. Specially Jessie, Biggs and Wedge. Jessie had me rooting for her lol Marlene is soooooooo cuuuuuuute! Your Tifa moments crack me up everytime! I had to take a screenshot of young Tifa/Cloud and that gorgeous night sky for a wallpaper! Can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of the game. It was a rollercoaster ride for me.
These writers were way ahead of everyone. How about when Rude says to Aerith "Go home and stay there!" and she goes "You know I can't do that!" when he's about to fly away on the chopper after the first encounter with him?

I'm a grown-ass adult in my 40s(!), and I sat there in that start screen with tears in my eyes for a solid ten minutes, just listening to that music and _remembering_ the first time I played the original FFVII. I hadn't even started the game yet and I was getting body-slammed with the feels.
Your experience for the original FFVII popped up on my feed today. Really enjoyed it so I watched both X & IX. Against my better judgement I’m going to watch part 1 of this prior to getting to play it. Hopefully I don’t regret my choice since VII is literally my favorite game ever made.
