- I played Final Fantasy X for the first time earlier this year and oh boi was it a wild ride.
This game has some of the most gorgeous cutscenes I've ever seen, and I loved the quirky characters and their development, the hilarious interactions, the mesmerizing soundtrack, the thought-provoking themes, the plot-twists, and the extremely emotional moments. Overall, it was a very special experience that I will treasure for a very long time ♡

Because saying “I love you” isn’t a part of the culture, many traditionnal or old couples express their love in other ways. Most of the time, their love is expressed through actions instead of words.
When it comes to saying words of affection, some people might do this by expressing their gratitude to their significant other.
While the wordありがとう(arigatou) means “thanks” and doesn’t translate to “I love you” in any way, it can be said in a way that subtly expresses your feelings.
yes it is

@@albundy1485 I think "I love you" is better in this case because they never said that to each other. If they did, "thank you" would be better for sure. It's also what everyone would say in that situation too, I think.
The localization people pushed for "I love you" and they accepted it as well.
Yuna: Runs to Tidus arms outstretched, but falls right through him
Everyone: "Oh yeah, it's ugly cry time"
And she didn't actually cry, and I think that it's better this way

Best love story of the WHOLE franchise. A love without traumas or unnecessary edginess, so pure and yet so mature.
They were best friends above all else. Tidus wanted to help Yuna achieve her goal, no matter the cost. He respected her choice, though it made his heart break. Only when Sin is defeated can Yuna open her heart truly. It's such a wonderful and mature love story of two people who care for one another. Best game story of all time.

So many emotional moments throughout this game and one of the great things about it is that the heartwarming moments end up making the heartbreaking and emotional moments that much more impactful when they arrive because you have established a connection to these characters therefore it means that much more when your hit with them, that was what happened for me at least.
In terms of the ending cutscenes, one of the most emotional moments (because theirs a lot lol) for me is when Yuna whistles and this time Tidus doesn't come running to her like they had promised each other earlier that they would do if one of them was in trouble, to see her just whistling over and over when she knows deep down he isn't coming back for her is just...… damn, it's like right in the middle of this emotional cutscene you get punched right in the gut with that part as well.

"As Yuna was performing her incantations, Tidus's body started shimmering. He looks at Yuna, embarrased that his secret was now been revealed. Yuna shakes her head in disbelief:
"No", she mutters.
"Yuna, I have to go" Tidus, bitterly stating the inevitable.
Disbelief makes way to denial, as Yuna shakes her head once more, like an innocent child would: she was not gonna have it.
Tidus tries to downplay the obvious: "I'm sorry I couldn't show you Zanarkand", pitifully, and then starts to walk away.
He makes a brief pause to throw a shy goodbye at everyone, then he resumes his determined departure.
"We're gonna see you again?!?, yells Rikku, unsettled, as Tidus kept walking.
The absence of an answer was crystal clear: they were not going to.
As Yuna watches her lover walk away, still struck in disbelief, unsettlement makes way to anxiety, which then makes way to anguish. Time's up: at the very last moment, her anguish yields to panic.
Yuna runs to Tidus. Her moanings are those of a loving heart desperately crying out for the warmth of reciprocity.
She throws herself into Tidus's arms, but alas only to be met by a ghostly embrace: she passes right through him and fall on the ground.
As Tidus's whisps slips through her delicate fingers, evaporating towards the sky, Yuna's dawning realization can be clearly read onto her face: her lover is already gone.
Broken, but still managing to keep her gracious composture, she painfully proceeds to stand up. Chin high, she looks towards infinity like she was contemplating a future that would never come to be, and on an utterly sincere but resigned tone, she gently mutters one last protest:
"I love you"
Bravo! What an excellent piece of writing!!
Yes, we all saw what happens...
The second the Final Aeon twist is revealed, is when this game goes from a dark, but still adventurous journey to the biggest amount of subtext realization I've ever seen. Rarely does a twist completely recontextualize your entire journey quite like that one, and the flashback of Yuna's sphere hammers it home, just how oblivious we all were.
And if that wasn't enough, *it's not even the only one.*
FFX may have the "first installment I played bias" in my mind, and I may not have finished it myself for so long and known its twists ahead of my own final playthrough, but it's still a goddamn masterpiece of a story to me.
What I like about FFX is how the world building is so well thought. It's one of the few "futuristic" setting RPGs where it makes sense that the main character wields a sword and not a gun. It's also one of few games where due to how the story is constructed, the "let's defy fate" trope is justified (and subverted).
I usually am baffled at this kind of narrative because the characters mostly end up servicing a plot, instead of feeling like the story happens as a result of their actions, but in FFX's case the societal acceptance of Sin and a summoner's pilgrimage has conditioned the world into accepting its fate. This game is brilliant.
That’s the beauty of this game, it’s so painfully tragic. These people have given up *everything* and all they get in return is pain. But they *keep going* because that’s the example they’ve set for everyone and they can’t falter. All they can do is move forward and never forget.
Straight up
To me the most heart wrenching scene was Yuna still whistling to the sea, never losing hope that Tidus will come running. Such a nice touch seeded so early in the game. Damn those onions...

Yuna: "do you think i could become high summoner?"
Nyx: "yes you can, of course you can!"
Me: "oh my sweet summer child"
It is sad to think that the titled "High Summoner" were granted posthumously to onerous summoner whom have gone through arduous pilgrimage and to finally give their life and the sacrifices of their closest tied Guardian in order to defeat sin through conventional way. It has been a custom tradition that has been practised for an aeon in Spira thus the notion of becoming high summoner surmounts to the conviction of giving one's life in exchange for the short decade of peace for them citizens of Spira as Yuna says "Don't say it is not worth it" when Tidus attempt to rebuke by questioning the worth of a great perilous jouney to ultimately giving one's life for 10 years of peace. I know the plot is designed in such but truly those post summoner could've figured out that the stupid Final Aeon rites to reset Yu Yevon's construction of sin via Yunalesca is a dumb way.
no literally 😅🥲
@@KiseiruYoshioka Remember that everyone especially the summoners are brainwashed by the religion to become the sacrificial lamb to slaughter. They are all mind controlled to be happy martyrs for everyone's sake. ITs a very hard thing to convince them otherwise. I'm sure Auron and Tidus wasn't the only guardians to convince their summoners otherwise. It took Tidus to come into existence to convince Yuna otherwise. He himself is a dream manifestation of the all the AEONs that were killed endlessly in this loop for thousands of years grew tired of the cycle of sacrifice and death in exchange for temporary hope (peace). It was the AEONs will to break the cycle and it can only be done by convincing the summoner to find another way to kill Sin permanantly.
@@KiseiruYoshioka You are overlooking the fact that the summoners were not brainwashed. Literally no one, not even the highest members of the Order of Yevon, knew of any other way to defeat Sin, permanently or otherwise. If you dig a little into the lore, there were many summoners in the past who DID try other ways to defeat Sin, but failed and died anyway, only without bringing The Calm for their efforts. Quite literally, the only way Yuna and her guardians were able to defeat Sin was because of Tidus' connection to the (barely) human soul of his father. Without that "in", they would never have gotten close enough to Sin with the airship to even attempt to bring it down.
@@nispelsm The plot were designed in a way that only Yuna and her group are capable of defeating Sin with unconventional way. Given that Final Aeon is the only summon capable of penetrating the layer of Sin but what I don't like is how the other summoner just blindly follow the tradition, fact is that Yunalesca hide a certain amount of info to previous summoner and Auron is pretty much they only one question it, honestly Yunalesca never intend for Sin to be gone forever which is why she provide a temporary method for sin to reset and in return she and her family were treated as saviour.
Still one of the best FF10 reactions I've ever seen lmao. I've come back to this vid 3-4 times over the past few years. lol
Omg these are my favorite videos to watch! Tysm. I remember playing through the first time. It's the best kind of rip your heart out pain.
It's has been 18 years already.
And yet again I am crying, like a child.
I've been playing this game every 2nd year since it released in 2001, and I cry every freaking time, it is just so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time!
Too soon.
I cried the first time and every time I’ve gotten to this ending.... we all cried.
I routinely cry to this to vent. Thank you for the shared emotions and a wonderful playthrough.
Thank you for sharing this journey. It was very emotional being able to relive some of the journey with you. This game makes me cry every time I have gone through it, and it always holds a place in my heart.
I'm a simple man, I see Tidus fading away: I cry.
😭
And how can Square Enix ruined all of these feeling with FFX-2?
@@yevonsama Hey! FFX-2 was a great and emotional game (in the last 10 minutes). It had a lot of serious dark emotional impact that will really choke you up (in the last 10 minutes).
I'm 37 and played the game when it came out about 18 years ago and played again like maybe 8 years ago. The ending is so damn sad. I now just need to see like the last 5 or so minutes of the ending, boom, crying. I can never not cry. *sniff*
Also the song "Suteki da ne" is just concentrated tears and goodness converted into sound.
Walk tall my friend
As an older gamer who originally played this back in 01, and who also went through the range of feels you experienced, it warms my heart to see gamers of this generation enjoy the games I loved. It also gives me comfort to see the HEART DESTRUCTION LEVEL 9000 YOU SUFFERED from the final cinematic! Wait till you go to a Distant Worlds live concert and they start playing "To Zanarkand"! Your tears will flow again!
This game is a masterpiece and i never understand why people dont connect with it
@@nezkeys79 agreed I don't feel like they honestly took the time to play it and listen to the game.
I also love how she was memeing the beginning and then when she got to Zan and the opening repeated she got really emotional it was touchinng
@@seemlesslies yea i got emotional watching her reactions. The kiss scene in the water really affected her and then all the time i was wondering how she would cope with sacrificing her aeons, dealing with the fate of tidus, and yunas speech. Right at the the series of flashbacks with the words "never forget them" critstrikes me everytime
Can you say.. a thousand words?
@@cortana009 that was the best part of the game lol
Each FF is special in its own way and FFX never fails to get the tears out of me. The musical composition, the character development, the emotions... The result is something that manages to touch your soul. There is something oddly naïve yet powerful about the story. Anyway, thank you for giving me yet another reason to go through this!
I think I've seen the entierety of this video at least 20 times, you're way too precious Nyxi; love seeing you reacting to all the Final Fantasies
"This game is pain"
yes, yes it is.
No...Anima is pain
@@dickvandergaag3249 Dark Anima
i see you havent played ff7 then xD
@@ScrewFearMe lol yeah those last bosses
@@Duskeroth i for some reason accidentally saved over my friends save in ff7 when i was playing the game at his place...the friend he and i have together helped him fight one of those bosses with just omnislash and without the underwater materia, my friend got kinda pissed off at me for it but i was like huh, how?
"I hate this game so much!!"
We all do. We do but we don't.
It really do be like that
In FFX-2 I really hate it.
immediately after tidus low five
I hate the grind but everything else is fine. To be honest I just needed to get Wings to destiny for trio of 9999 to beat Braska instead of grinding.
FFX is my favorite game of all time
I don't know what to say. That was one of the funniest yet sweetest videos I've seen for a long time. It even brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for up loading 😪
Thanks so much for this. Two decades later, to me this game still represents those I've loved and lost. It felt very validating watching someone feel the joy and the pain of this all these years later ❤️💔❤️
When your bf literally ghosts you
Under rated comment. Bravo
I snorted.
LMFAO
@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead Damn straight! High five! 🖐️
Wtf man😂😂😂
Into Zanarkand music starts playing.
*Cry
I don't cry, but it does give me a strong nostalgia reaction.
OMG this game brought me to tears so many times and seeing you feel the same right now, as much as rewatching all of these scenes, is making me cry all over again! Well done, I hope you're happy with yourself! And also, don't change, I just discovered the existence of you and your channel but i'm getting subscribed right now because you've gotta be one in a million.
Why am I only finding about your channel now!! Awesome reaction! You're awesome!
My 13 year old daughter is playing it now we are in quarantine. Her reactions are mostly the same as yours. I played it with my sister back in 1999, when it came out. Result? My niece name is Yuna :)
wow
umm this game came out in 2001, and the ps2 came out ini 2000...
tristan 123455 man cut me some slack haha! We’re talking 20 years ago...
Crazy that it has almost been about 20 years ago now? Isn’t it?
too many lies in one comment
The reaction at the "I love you" part was perfect. That's exactly how a tragic love story is meant to conclude.
I knew that reaction was going to be like that.
@@benanders4412 her reactions are amazing. Genuine as fuck
You're right. That's why FFX-2 never existed to me. Never played it, never will.
@@jasonlam6773 You have made the correct choice. That game essentially spits in the face of this one. FFX is a masterpiece. The sequel by contrast is a random clusterfuck of nonsense.
@@jasonlam6773 It's a great game, gets a lot of unfair hate.
Nyxi: "Wait, why did that make me tear up?"
Rikku: "COVER YOUR EYES!"
The timing of that lmao!
I’m a 41 year man and this shit still hits hard, EVERY time. As much as I’d like to go back and replay, AGAIN, 16 is out now and Rebirth is right around the corner. Hope I’m still alive when they decide to remake 10. Lol
How would they remake perfection?
Better to leave it alone than to ruin the heartbreak
"Yojhimbo goes first cause he's great!"
D-does she know what she's about to do?
"WHAT?!"
Yeah, no.
lol I was sitting there, waiting for that realization. lol
Get out of my head. lol
I was sitting there thinking, "she doesn't realize she has to kill him off now." I felt so bad for her 😢
This is the best Final Fantasy I've ever played. The game that makes me so emotional, the story, the character and the plot is perfect for me.
Not so many game that i played nowadays really make me feel like I am a part of the story and the world like Final Fantasy X did.
I totally agree. By the time I finished FFX, I felt like I just had saved Spira and had returned to my own world. Never had a game immerse me to such level. I felt like a part of me died when Tidus died, and I still tear up to this day when watching that ending. The music was perfect.
I think its the best Final Fantasy. The story just hits so hard, the world they built (Spira) is the absolute best Final Fantasy world, such rich lore and atmosphere, INCREDIBLE music (like most FF), great characters, epic boss fights, and of course that ending, the best of any Final Fantasy. Its sometimes really hard for me to choose especially with amazing games like FF7 (including Crisis Core and its remake), FF12, FF8, etc. but in the end no game made me feel the way FFX does.
Final Fantasy X is by far the best like you said the story, the character development, the level of immersion and even the freedom of customization that you could potentially make yuna hit over 99,000 points in a single physical attack or that Auron could be the best black mage out of every1. The possibilities are endless and it makes different play through even more enjoyable than the last. FFX is a game created well before its time and even though it was it was thought out and executed to perfection I played it on PS2 and love that they remastered it for PS4 and even steam
You should play neir automata. Do all side missions and play the 'campaign' 3 times. The first 2 are copies from different perspectives, and the 3rd is a continuation to part a/b. Part 3 is called 'route C', it gives endings D/E which E is the final final ending. Completely worth it.
the 7 one is hands down the best tho
You made me remember how I felt with this game's ending almost 20 years ago. Its been moving seeing you! Thanks for sharing your experience. 🥰
I’ve played through the game many times throughout the years.
And that ending, even if I’ve seen it countless times, hits
every
single
time.
Isn’t it wonderful?.... how a single game can make you feel happy, sad, depressed, angry, annoyed and just toy with your feels?!? That’s why this is my favorite. Glad you enjoyed this masterpiece!
Oh yeah like all the extreme rage inducing parts of the game. Dodging 200 lightning bolts or trying to get negative time on the chocobo race
it truly is a masterpiece.
That pun right at the start, how smooth!
Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core I recommend greatly becuz of this comment
Persona 5 royal, persona 3 fes, dragon quest 11
And then, Yuna became a popstar.
Lmaooo
Mharvynn what I can do for you? I can hear you
And after that Sin comeback
Yeah x-2 doesn't exist
@@Muxeroth I personally loved it more than X. It had a better battle system and a great cast and music. The reason people didn't like it when it was released was because they weren't ready for:
- A female-only cast
- A plot that wasn't 'save the world'
- A non-typical Final Fantasy
The game had a ton of amazing stuff and is well worth a play. Also, there's a chance for an overall happy ending to BOTH games if you do well enough in the game. If you liked FFX you should want to play FFX-2 for the end of the actual story, even if it is quite different to the first. It's a gem of a game and deserves more love than it got when it first came out.
Anyone complaining about it now obviously don't know what they're talking about.
That was really sweet to see that you were moved by this! After spending so much time with these characters, like with books, shows or films, you empathize with them!
I cannot believe I stuck around for almost 40 minutes to watch this but I'm glad I did. I will never be able to play this game again for the first time and go thru the emotions and discovery but watching this reminded me why I loved this game so much and why its on my top favorite games. Thank you!
I wish I could erase all my memories of Final Fantasy 10 ... I want to play it again for the first time
:))))))
No you neva :)
bruhhhhh same
The next best thing is to watch someone play though it
I would love to do that too
*Emotional detonator activated*
Nobuo Uematsu: Aaaah... Everything went as expected.
I see the evil raccoon meme 😂
When she's hurting from the fall and a fayth crosses right in front of her eyes almost taunting her. The way Tidus can't perfectly hug Yuna before he goes because he can't feel her and overlaps her form a little. The way the whistles have a perfect rhythm to it to tip off that she's been practicing alot. It's those priceless details, man.
Omg this video came up on my recommended and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire 35 minutes of it. It took me back to the emotional roller coaster of FFX with all the awkward, funny, happy and sad moments. I'm subscribing. Lol. Thank you
Me: skips to ending to see the heartbreak
Heartbreak happens
Me: mmmm yes a heartbreak, I remember this
*Every time she starts crying*
Me: Same
Watching people cry at the ending to this game is my new hobby. Everybody breaks at "I love you."
Side note: I've noticed a distinct lack of men streaming this game. Some guys have every Final Fantasy OTHER than this one in their recordings. Hmmmm . . .
Watch Two Best Friends Play this game to see some bro moments. Gotta warn you sometimes they don't really pay attention to what's going on.
real men cry playing ffx
Yup, real men would cry at FFX, cuz that means they are brave to show their emotions
This is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. What an absolute masterpiece! Such an emotional ride!
God damn it it's like getting to watch someone experience my childhood, but now with shitposting camera cuts and meme's lmao. Quality.
I’m really happy to see someone actually crying in this story. Most people said that this game has a complicated story but I think it’s so simple. Watching this actually made me cry to. It is one of my favorite games and I think that you loved this game as well.
Honestly this game has one of THE BEST storylines in Video gaming. I hate shallow stories
she said she hated it multiple times
Little Pankek don’t you “hate”something because you don’t want anything bad to happen to characters? When you feel the pain they are in? I said I hated this game too because of the pain. But honestly I loved this game so much. If she actually didn’t like it, I am sorry but the way she was talking it was kinda like me and other people I saw play this game.
@Curtis Riceman Same. It will always be special to me because of this.
When I really look at it, being able to make you cry is part of what makes a really good game.
@@LittlePankek erm... You can't really read people's feelings can you lol
33:06 Never noticed this until now, but look at how sad Wakka looks in the background! Tidus was basically a little brother to him and having to say goodbye must be breaking his heart
Yes. It goes unnoticed, but Wakka's reaction was the most heartfelt to me after watching it a few times. He was absolutely destroyed 😭😭😭
The fact that Wakka had to go through it AGAIN. Lost Chapuu and now another kid who looked like Chapuu.
j'ai terminé le jeu plein de fois mais tu m'as tellement fait pleurer ... tu m'as fait revivre ma première fois, c'est juste extraordinaire, merci
