No joke. Killing off the Aeons primes the water works. It hurts, like putting down a beloved pet, but they're begging you to so they can finally rest. Auron finally allowing himself to be sent opens the valve. The dad of the group is going, but he's old, tired, and deserves a bit of peace. Then Tidus fades. Wakka and Rikku lose a brother, Yuna loses something significantly more. The music crescendos and the falling tears become a flood as they can't even hug goodbye. But then you get ahold of yourself as the music comes to a close. Braska, Auron, and Jecht are waiting for Tidus, and the high five between dad and son communicates so much. Then, just as you think you've got it all together again, the whistling on the dock is a dagger to the heart. Kitase, you magnificent bastard!

@@MetalJaska Watch the movie Metro Manila. Is the only end i find more bittersweet, and too very emotional snd beautiful. I wonder if there was a bit of inspiration from this in the ending.
Two things I feel most seem to miss: • Auron's little chest-tap to Kimahri - Kimarhri was the one that found the dying Auron and honored "the wish of a dying man" to take Yuna to Besaid, effectively setting off the events of the game. • Wakka being visibly upset & frustrated, having to lose a brother all over again.
I imagine Wakka also being frustrated there because, like-- he spent like half the time he had with Tidus being a frustrating, bullheaded fundamentalist asshole, and I'm sure EVERYTHING he said that he regrets now is flashing through his head again as he watches Tidus leave. Even if Tidus would certainly remember him as a bruddah, it's got to hurt, feeling like you "wasted" so much of your time together by not being better.
I never get tired of seeing people's first playthrough of this game. FFX holds a very special place near and dear to my heart. Don't worry, we all ugly cried at that ending. A lot of people talk about the I love you or the whistle. What hit me hardest as a kid and still hits hardest now is when she tries to hug him and falls, and she just lays there, because she knows. Specifically the soul shining light on her eyes as it passed by. It captured such despair, and I've honestly never had a moment just slap me like that before or since.
Right when you think you've got it together, too. Yuna can't hug him, it's literally the worst possible thing that could happen, you take a deep breath and calm yourself down. "I love you."

This game and Final Fantasy VII have arguably, two of the most gut wrenching scenes in video game history. Yuna had the purest heart of anyone in the game next to Tidus, who was just clearly too pure for this world, which was why he had to leave. But she deserved happiness the most out of all of them. She was the most selfless, and she had to do the hardest part at the end, which was send Auron and all of her aeons. It really was heartbreaking that she didn't get what she wanted.
this is the best game ever of all time i cry everytime i see the ending this is not just a game it had a huge impact on my life i gotten close to all 7 characters and relate to all of them fell in love with them i cry and im a 31 year old guy
Everytime I play through for the past 23 years I always spend 2 or 3 months at the end doing random stuff in the game like Blitz Ball because I know what happens when I finish it.
Other Final Fantasy characters have been suddenly killed off before, and those moments are sad. Final Fantasy X made it a logical inevitability that you see coming but are powerless to stop, and it's devastating.
I'll never forget seeing this the first time & my older sister walking in and mocking me relentlessly for crying about a video game. I challenged her to play it and not cry. She did not succeed. 😂😢
I believe Auron age is already 35 during his travel with Braska before he dies. Same age with Braska and close with the age of Jecht. During the journey with Yuna, you can clearly see he aged a lot since then even though he is already an unsent since he stayed for 10 years in Dream Zanarkand where everything is made up of pyreflies. In that place, even dreams like Tidus age as well. He's probably around 45+ during this final scene.
I'm new here, more tears pls. Final Fantasy X-2 calls to you if this story reached your heart like I see it did... no spoilers, just a recommendation to follow a spoiler free perfect ending guide. Infinitely worth.
I'm a man and only two games have ever brought tears to my eyes... That I. can remember. One was final fantasy 7 on PS 1 where Arith died, and one was God of war Ragnarok. I never finished final fantasy 10 though I only played about 2 hours of it.

I woke up 10 minutes ago, went on RUclips saw this video about final fantasy X and immediately I was like tearing up. First 10 minutes of the day I'm reminded of Final Fantasy X and starting tearing up even though I've already seen it.
😭
Wow.
I was in 6th grade when this came out. Too many emotions for a 12 year old 😭
Yeah...... everybody gangsta until 'To Zanderkand' hits. 😒
He is Gone!!!!! As is our dreams
Other Final Fantasy characters have been suddenly killed off before, and those moments are sad.
Final Fantasy X made it a logical inevitability that you see coming but are powerless to stop, and it's devastating.
Cried when it came out and I played it as a youngster.... still cry every time I see it to this day.
I'll never forget seeing this the first time & my older sister walking in and mocking me relentlessly for crying about a video game. I challenged her to play it and not cry. She did not succeed. 😂😢
I just happened across this tonight and it hit me harder even though I played this so many years ago. I wasn’t ready either … again 😢
''You'll cry. You're gonna cry. You always cry. See? You're cryin''' He was really speaking to us..
Another soul crushed by my favorite game, when I was a kid and beat it I didn’t care but the older I got it hurt more and more
That “I love you” hit her for an overkill
I believe Auron age is already 35 during his travel with Braska before he dies. Same age with Braska and close with the age of Jecht.
During the journey with Yuna, you can clearly see he aged a lot since then even though he is already an unsent since he stayed for 10 years in Dream Zanarkand where everything is made up of pyreflies. In that place, even dreams like Tidus age as well.
He's probably around 45+ during this final scene.
Cried the first time when I was 14, now I'm 35 and it still hits the same way.... Damn.
You have to remember every sparkle is a soul devoured by sin.
how a game could give you so much emotion 20 years later
I'm new here, more tears pls. Final Fantasy X-2 calls to you if this story reached your heart like I see it did... no spoilers, just a recommendation to follow a spoiler free perfect ending guide. Infinitely worth.
More tears?! Deal 😏 have you seen the FF Crisis Core tears yet? That one still hurts my soul xox thanks for the recommendation!
I'm a man and only two games have ever brought tears to my eyes... That I. can remember.
One was final fantasy 7 on PS 1 where Arith died, and one was God of war Ragnarok.
I never finished final fantasy 10 though I only played about 2 hours of it.
Your reaction is so genuine that I love it. 🥺🥹
thank you 🥺🥹
My first play through I was like 12 or 13 and I didn't appreciate this game it wasn't until I played it again as an adult that it became my all time favorite game and made me ball my eyes out so many times
