I don't think it was 48 pounds worth..The price is so high because of where you are eating the meal.
Beautiful location..Steak cooked to perfection…but £48 for a pub grub steak meal…seriously.
For £50 ? You got too much money Lee. Fillet like that cost £9 in the shop. Two spuds and couple of bits of onion, 80p.

The steak was overcooked and the meal was certainly not worth that amount of money. Half the price and it would have been ideal.

Sorry Lee we don’t agree on this occasion. We are saying 5/10. £50 for that , I love good food and I don’t mind paying it was a tough fillet steak. Stay away folks.

The decor made me feel a bit sick to be honest, a tad garish. Prices are a bit on the strong side, I could get similar quality in my fave pub, with equally nice surroundings in a small hamlet on the N York Moors much cheaper, much cheaper. Looked good but too pricy. Won't mark it, as long as you enjoyed it that's what it's all about.
Lee the food looked amazing but for what you paid a single man could buy a weeks food mate

A good excuse to have a nice meal in your favourite area instead of some of the stuff you've eaten lately though.
I've also just had a steak dinner fit for a king. It was superb - 10oz sirloin, mushrooms, red peppers, tomatoes and chips. Where? Our house. Chef? My lovely missus! Supplier? Lidl. Cost? 2 x 10oz sirloins for £9.95, on special.
Your fillet looked excellent too but I think mine would be difficult to beat. And the Chef even gave me a snog! 😀

That steak was £48. Enough said. No steak outside of a Michellin or London restaurant can surely be worth over £35

Lee is just swaning around here i can tell😂❤🎉😊.The wall paper and decor is very busy i thought i was in my Grandma's Best front room. It was only kept for visitors at a temperature of 5 degrees. However heated before they arrived. Two up two down with seven kids plus gran and granddad.❤😊

I was taught by my parents not to talk with my mouth full at the table. It's just good etiquette and manners.
Just to put this into context how expensive this is I went to the Savoy hotel in London. I had a 3 course meal at lunch time for £45 at Gordon Ramsay's River restaurant it's called. Great food and a stunning hotel with heritage.
At £50 quid it better be good and it certainly looked as if it was although as someone has said the mushroom was a bit underwhelming.
Well done Sir, got me hungry & somewhat jealous.

I am not a pretentious kind of guy, somebody is fooling somebody when they stack onion rings on chips with a dry plate. 🤦🏻♂️ Why didn't they add the juices from it cooking. Looked more medium rare to me, which is fine for me.

Wow £48 for that, no sauce poor sides and average presentation with no steak knife as well. Not knocking it but for that price if you go at lunch time you could go to a Michelin star restaurant in London. Lovely hotel and amazing location though would still visit.

I always go for fish and chips it's my favourite nothing comes close :) tartare sauce on the fish and ketchup on the chips, I'm making myself hungry now 😆

£48 would buy you a whole Filet and probably get 8-10 meals out of it,but what a lovely setting.
Steak looks buggered, fillet steak should be medium rare at the most but rare and blue is the best. There's a reason why steak tartar is only made from fillet steak, never sirloin or rump or any other cut. If you want a medium or well done steak, get a sirloin or rump, don't waste a fillet steak. Other than that the steak looked a good size but £48 for the steak, 2 onion rings, one mushroom, a bit of rabbit food and a kids portion of chips absolutely shocking.
I misread that headline!! Thought you were going for a Swan Steak!!!!

Love the Lakes , love my steaks and that looked perfect for my acquired taste but felt an addition of peppercorn sauce would have made that bill more palatable 🤣

Looks absolutely fabulous place to get away to. The food too looked amazing, I could almost taste it just watching the video. Fillet steak is on the higher end of the price market I guess so I'm not surprised ppl may find it a little pricey but on certain occasions. U just av to put the calculator away nd pay for a quality experience. Iv never been to the lake district as blackpool is my main stay when I'm up north way. But I'm certainly being sold a visit from ur vids

Hi Mr MacMaster. Guess what? For the first time ever I can say Ive eaten at the same place you have! A few years ago , 2019 I think, I stopped here on business with a colleage. As I remember the food was quite good. I think I had my usual, burger and chips. Very nice as I remember. But yes, well expensive. We were on a dinner allowance so couldn't have the steak. But its great to know I have eaten at one of the places you have. As always, a fantastic video. Cheers Mr MacMaster. 👍.
I usually like the content etc, but for me this vid had a very “paid for” feel to it.
I wish it was! Cost me a tidy penny. People asked me to do something other than fish and chips, a nice quality steak and then when I do they moan. Can't win. Back to FIsh and chips. lol x

Why is everything so expensive? £20 is my weekly shop..... This is why I do not eat out anymore, there is no reason for fillet steak and chips to be £50, I can go down the shop and buy a potato for less than a quid and a fillet steak for a fiver.
No you can't. You won't get a fillet steak of that size for any less than £12.
Yet another pub charging extortionate prices for a steak you could buy yourself for a quarter of the price , who goes out and spends £50 on their tea , come on , come back down to earth a little bit !!!

You can buy it for yourself if you want to stay in and not go out? Who goes out and spends £50 on a meal? The place gets packed later on so I'm guessing quite a few people. It's not Wetherspoons. It's a quality steak. I agree it's not cheap. But then again is anywhere these days.

yes the train still stops there ! Was on holiday last year and as a treat booked my missus and her carer there for a spar....they loved it ( she has a double brain injury) was good for them but i couldn't afford to eat there...we went to bo'ness and got striped up there!! The dog and i parked up the road to see the train !!
