I love the Lakes. I used to go several times a year when I was younger up until I was 25, born and living in Yorkshire. I moved to Cornwall 26 years ago, a place I also love. I settled down with a local girl and we drove up in the early 2000's and stayed in Keswick. She loved it. We went back again with the kids years later and they both loved it too. She agreed with me and said she would only ever live in Cornwall or the Lakes.
I swear this was the day I was here! Last Wednesday, saw the weather forecast and drove down from South Shields with my mate and my dog for the day, it’s the most beautiful place on earth when the suns shining!

Wow mate. Memories are coming back to me. I went few years ago and lake Windermere Has got to be the best lake I ever visited and I’ve been pretty much everywhere and nowhere can beat that lake. Lovely video mate. I need to go back to visit again asap after watching this video. The views are amazing and the small village was a lovely walk. You have to go on the boat cruise it’s amazing. Keep up the good work mate. Big fan of yours👍

A mate of mine attended the fire when it burned many years ago, but great to see it back. Quick tip, near where you were sitting at the end, lots of swans. They will happily mug you if you don't share your pie with them.

Hi Gareth. This takes me back. Such a great place for a visit. Went with my wife a few years ago for a very enjoyable short break and were lucky enough to be able to get a table in a restaurant called Francine's, near where you come in to Windermere. Remember it so well. Had the turbot and I must say it was one of the best meals I have ever had. Don't know if it's still there though. Must go back someday. Love the video and hope you enjoyed yourself. All the best

You got a cracker of a day there Gareth. It's a lovely place, no wonder it's so popular with the tourists. Love the Wildfowl on the Lake, bit of a safe haven for them, loads of people taking their wee bags of breadcrumbs to feed them. Like you say, the streets will be chock a block in the Summer. Lovely video Gareth, take care and stay safe 😘xxx
Amazing beautiful place bowness I got married at the bellsfield hotel but you didn’t show it unfortunately, amazing place I could see McDonald’s hotel tho stayed their night before and personally the hallways reminded me of the film “ the shining “ 😂😂
Rare sight the lake District sunshine usually drizzle rain and mist. A lovely pasty a shame you got attacked by the birds like a scene from a Alfred Hitchcock film😂
Reminds me of getting the steam train to the end of the lake and then the cruise to Bowness and back , when the kids were young . Always fancied staying at that big hotel by the water, A MacDonald Hotel I think? One with the ivy all over it.
I just remembered, we went there after I got married for a few days , postponed the honeymoon till later in the year ,i hired a kilt outfit for my wedding and the shoes were too tight , so spent the weekend hobling around with me moaning, wife was not impressed 😆
Well that was a nice way to start me day off,a trip round the lakes. Good pint that still had the froth clinging to the side of the glass when you finished it. Could murder that pastie like😋
Lovely part of the country. Down south where we are there is scarcely a 5 minute drive between sea and open countryside - we are very lucky here in Sussex. And in fact where we live it is a place where the countryside almost 'kisses' the sea with the Telscombe Tye right opposite our house and the sea around 200 yards down the road - lovely location.
Hi, Gareth. Another great show. Good to get out and about on a sunny day. Amazing scenery looking out to the water. The cornish pastie looked delicious too. Seemed good value for the price. Please keep doing more of the outdoor reviews. Best wishes from Scotland.

If you ever get the chance try it although being one of the most expensive fish on the market means it's only available as a special treat. Hope you manage to try some someday. Cheers
Been 17 up North 😁for a change lol love the Lakes so beautiful
Pint and a pie living life bro 👏🏻👌🏻
cheers Smithy.
Pint and a patsy sounds class
cheers Kev.
Nice tour Gareth. Very nice footage and drive . Have you reviewed most of these places in your local paper
yes these are out of the paper boundaries unfortunately pal.
@@BaldFoodieGuy oh yes barrow and Bo'ness bit far out if each other but still nice area and footage and nice pies
Lovely video Gareth, take care and stay safe 😘xxx
yes suck a lovely place, not so good in peak season though, very busy. x
Amazing beautiful place bowness I got married at the bellsfield hotel but you didn’t show it unfortunately, amazing place I could see McDonald’s hotel tho stayed their night before and personally the hallways reminded me of the film “ the shining “ 😂😂
haha no sorry i didnt show that one, yes lovely place.
You're so lucky to live in such a beautiful place ❤
thanks 😊 iknow.
Hi Gareth it’s mark your regular viewer another spot on video how is your good lady ??
cheers Mark thanks 😊 yes she is spot on now thankfully 👍
Rare sight the lake District sunshine usually drizzle rain and mist. A lovely pasty a shame you got attacked by the birds like a scene from a Alfred Hitchcock film😂
haha I know Brian, they nearly had me lol
Cheers Gaz, just a tip mate when you're planning the camera you should slow it to a crawl bud. I love the lakes, stunning.
yes will do next time i was getting dizzy watching it too.
@@BaldFoodieGuy Hahahaha, you're doing great Gaz.
Reminds me of getting the steam train to the end of the lake and then the cruise to Bowness and back , when the kids were young . Always fancied staying at that big hotel by the water, A MacDonald Hotel I think? One with the ivy all over it.
I just remembered, we went there after I got married for a few days , postponed the honeymoon till later in the year ,i hired a kilt outfit for my wedding and the shoes were too tight , so spent the weekend hobling around with me moaning, wife was not impressed 😆
yes you can get a steam train from Haverthwaite.
@@BaldFoodieGuy that's the place , not far from the car museum, good there too.
Well that was a nice way to start me day off,a trip round the lakes. Good pint that still had the froth clinging to the side of the glass when you finished it. Could murder that pastie like😋
Cheers John, yes good day that was
25k subs!! You had like 1.2k when we started watching you like 6 months ago :') What a journey!
I know!! crazy pal, im lucky. thanks 😊
@@BaldFoodieGuy and he even still has a good crack at answering comments xD 50k is the next landmark, keep em coming :)
Best wishes from Scotland.
yes will do, need a Scotland tour.
Definitely. There are some really great places to eat and see in Scotland.
Well Gareth what a lovely place Bowness is, and Windemere too. That pint and the Cornish pastie along with the scenery and sunshine put me in the holiday mood too. You are a complete natural on camera delivering your wee tours, very enjoyable pal. See you Friday 👍👋🍻
cheers John, yes its a lovely place. Leaving was a stuggle. See you Friday pal 👍
