Yeah, I was going to make a comment about 1/2 of Motley Crue being in the video. Its funny to think about how these two bands, Dokken, and some of the other rock bands in the LA area back then not only knew each other but were also part of the others band before being in the band they are now. I miss the 80's and am really grateful that I lived in Orange County just an hour away from the sunset strip and got to see these bands before they were super huge.
@@blackrose_cba Yes and no. We fans don't realize how different a song may be before a band works with a good producer like Beau Hill in Ratt's case. Amazing tune. Acoustic guitar from Robin Crosby and then the electric guitar of Warren De Martini firing the intro is still to this day, one I’ll never forget. One of the best tunes RATT made.
Crosby "will always be King"? "King" of what? If you're talking about his lead playing you're quite off with that claim. He was a key to their songwriting (which should be the most important thing), but as a lead player he was nothing special (check out the solo for "Looking for Love"). And any intermediate guitarist could play that acoustic intro. I don't mean any disrespect, but c'mon! There's a reason he played distant second fiddle to Warren and Jake.
@Space Jockey. Not completely true. Check out the EP--- almost all Robbin's leads. "Wanted Man" live in Pasadena 1983 was 100% Robbin. Natural minor, dorian mode, blues scale, pentatonic, attitude, speed--- it's all there. Most of Warren's fast licks can be traced to Robbin: check out "Sweet Cheater". Robbin had the songs and the riffs. That's 75% of the game. Lead? Oh, yeah, he could bring it. Warren was incredibly GIFTED. Dexterity and crazy Van Halen-esque sense of swing. However, would there be a Warren without a Robbin????? Wow! I don't know.
@@spacejockey4746 Robbin was the man prior to "Out of the Cellar." On "Out of the Cellar" he dummied his leads a lot, probably to showcase Warren. I agree that Robbin was no Vito Bratta. He also lacked Eddie Van Halen's and Warren's sense of swing. He was no Scott Gorham or Neal Schon in the soul department. Etc. But....if you transcribe his leads on "Drive Me Crazy", or "Never Use Love", or anything off the EP, especially live, you will see where Warren got several of his core licks, upon which he added to. Jake E. Lee? Yeah, I think "Never Use Love " might be Jake riff-- maybe many from the early days. Lead wise, I hear zero Jake in Robbin's playing. Had Robbin been more competitive and not gotten into substance abuse, he definitely could have competed speedwise with all but maybe a few of those Glam Metal gunslingers. Musically, Ratt just didn't have the songs. Poor singer, no ballads, everything pretty much same bpm. Certainly they were no Whitesnake, Lizzy, or Priest. I say this, yet I have studied their riffs and solos. However, few are really memorable. Warren matured a lot later on.

I still to this day listen to the groups I grew up with and like seeing the younger generation discovering the kick ass music that we rocked out to compared to the pathetic watered down mainstream shit on the radio today.🤘🎤 🥁 🎸
I was born in 84 and always had an ear for this era of rock music even when I was a kid. I enjoy 70s groups too like Boston and eras after the 80s like the grunge and nu metal movements but none are as good as this particular time. I don't even know what gets played on mainstream rock radio today tbh. If I had to guess though, it's probably still listenable though to me as I definitely enjoy it's more aggressive metal form from multiple different eras.
Ratt stood out with great, catchy songs and was a big influence in my late high school years. DeMartini was and still is the most expressive lead player I can think of. He knows when to bend to correct pitch or sag out of pitch to create an atonal feel, and his use of dissonant tones to break up key centered melodic lines was so damn cool. And his riffs are some of the best in rock. Juan Croucier does not get enough credit for his backup vocals!!! His harmonies were huge to Ratt's sound!!!
When this album came out Ratt was easily as big as Motley Crue. I preferred them and this album was the popular choice at school. Pam Anderson did as much for Motley Crue's fame being with Tommy Lee than anything.
I just got the news so I came "Back For More" Tawny. It's 5am "In The Still Of The Night" and "Here I Go Again" thinking about her. Dance in Heaven, Tawny! 80's Rule!
What I loved about RATT was their key changes in almost every song. Their songs had musical depth that added tension and variety. Grew up during this era and was never a big fan of this scene except for Ratt. Love these guys !
REST IN PARADISE,TAWNEY KITAEN!❤️ I don’t know about my friends in the 80’s and 90’s. I do know that anytime White Snake or RATT would come on MTV. I would watch the video because of TAWNEY.

I was a young producer and worked on this video with Ratt and Uncle Milty. When he arrived at the Roxy on Sunset Blvd to do the cameo of the motorcycle crash, he said "You're the producer? I've got ties older than you" LOL. Marshal Berle was his nephew and the band's manager.
All these kids calling it “hair metal” or “hair band” or “glam metal.” We never called it any of those things. Anyone growing up during that time called it just “metal” or “heavy metal.”
i only just found out that this song had a music video, and i was surprised when i saw nikki sixx and tommy lee posing as police officers, since i’ve seen pictures of them before and never knew it was from here. great video, great song

Ratt N Roll Forever
RIP KING
RATT is my youth
LOVED the 80's!!! The music, the clothes, the hair... the men! Ah... I had the time of my life!
🙋♀️Me too! I miss all the fun! Now everyone is boring & depressed!
GOD-I miss THE'80S! I freakin HATE IT HERE!⚡🎰
AMEN or LIKEWISE! In opinion, Cher said it BEST, "If I could turn back time!"
Back For More in 2024 😁🔥🔥🔥🔥
Got to love the Tommy Lee / Nikki Sixx cameo :)
In many ways RATT was the best of the hair metal age. Yes I know Motley Crue is everyone’s favorite. I just think Ratt had a great groove.
Motley Crue is overrated. There are so many greater bands from this era that are simply underappreciated.
AMEN brothers...Crüe was good but there were many better bands from that scene in my opinion.
Ratt was definitely one of them!
RATT clearly is and will always be way better than Motley Crue. FACT is, RATT never released an album that sucks!!
Billy squier was good to i seen them with ratt
When this album came out Ratt was easily as big as Motley Crue. I preferred them and this album was the popular choice at school. Pam Anderson did as much for Motley Crue's fame being with Tommy Lee than anything.
It was a Different world back then.Idk how to even describe it.The world was a much better place in the 80s
💯
Oh to go back!!
Anybody have a Time Machine?
80's rocked!
I want to go back!
007
007stopjockin I'm in when? 80s Rock!
IM COMING!!
Me too!!
I'm with you!
Who doesn't
I just got the news so I came "Back For More" Tawny. It's 5am "In The Still Of The Night" and "Here I Go Again" thinking about her. Dance in Heaven, Tawny! 80's Rule!
My fave Ratt jam.
Love it
What I loved about RATT was their key changes in almost every song. Their songs had musical depth that added tension and variety. Grew up during this era and was never a big fan of this scene except for Ratt. Love these guys !
Todd Peterson back then everyone loved rock
American metal head Maybe so...but RATT sticks around as do others of that era. It's us who grow old...not the music.
+Todd Peterson
What about the Band W.A.S.P. ?
Same same Peterson. I am not a big listener of glam era but loved these guys since point break soundtrack.
real talent
Beautiful woman RIP. You were a true 80s icon!!!
REST IN PARADISE,TAWNEY KITAEN!❤️ I don’t know about my friends in the 80’s and 90’s. I do know that anytime White Snake or RATT would come on MTV. I would watch the video because of TAWNEY.
Talk about bringing out closet goods. What awesome time growing up with era tunes!!!!
Stephen Pearcy get well , ur in my prayers. U can fight this cancer in ur liver. I pray for you. UR THE BEST!!!!!!! Luv U , Brother FOREVER!!!!!!! Hope U see this!!!!!! GOD BLESS U!!!!!!!!!
I was a young producer and worked on this video with Ratt and Uncle Milty. When he arrived at the Roxy on Sunset Blvd to do the cameo of the motorcycle crash, he said "You're the producer? I've got ties older than you" LOL. Marshal Berle was his nephew and the band's manager.
wow what a great memory, I remember some about Milty and RATT from the 80's, we were all talking about it, the Band was making BIG waves.
I wondered what the connection with Berle was.
Awesome electric guitar playing.
True that, but for the time (80's)electronic drum effects were brand spanking new and the drum effects from RATT were superior.
RIP Robbin ... THANK YOU for finding Lillian Axe and giving us that band's awesome music
That's right i am back for more. Rock on Ratt 😈
Никки Сикс , Томми Ли и Тони Киттен- бывшая Ковердейла- уникальный клип, где все они собрались! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
RIP TAWNY & ROBIN
I’m a fan of the unique vocals & distinctive sound.💪🏻
All these kids calling it “hair metal” or “hair band” or “glam metal.” We never called it any of those things. Anyone growing up during that time called it just “metal” or “heavy metal.”
We called this music Hard Rock / Metal. And then Metallica and Megadeth were Heavy metal.
This was HEAVY METAL in 1984, anyone who lived it knows it.
fukkin based my man, i cannot stand the new shit and this is coming from a 22 year old
Agreed! It was Heavy Metal or Metal! Still is to me! I really dig Hair Nation channel 39 on SXM Radio but I wish they would call it something else.
Or just rock music
I was born in 1970 and this is the music I listen to going up. What a great time to be alive.
Born in 68, this is the music I still listen to, never gets old. Peace....
i only just found out that this song had a music video, and i was surprised when i saw nikki sixx and tommy lee posing as police officers, since i’ve seen pictures of them before and never knew it was from here. great video, great song
Ratt disguised the greatest rock shredder of that era in Mr Warren DeMartini...epic solos on every song...nobody sounded like Ratt...very unique band
Yeah. How the hell was I a guitar player in a metal band in the 80s and 90s and did realize how badass he is until 2020. That’s when I rediscovered him. Badass!
@@demodick --at least you got here!
Yeah he's really good,But in my opinion Mr Eddy van Halen was the greatest shredder back then and of all time, And Randy Rhoades was right there with him.
@@chriswildhaber35 do you listen to Opeth
Warren is a guitar 🎸 God!!! I was in highschool when Ratt really got Rollin! They will àllways be one of my favorite bands!!!
I saw ratt open for billy squire!
Ratt really started rolling when I was in highschool, been hooked ever since! They will àllways be one of my favorite bands. They had a powerful and unique sound, Warren is a guitar 🎸 God! Brings me back to the mid 80's. Great time to be young!
Tawney was in all them 80's videos 👍 R.I.P. Beautiful
RIP Tawny Kitaen 🙏🙏❤️
I think the girl with Milton Berle outside the Roxy was Wendy Barry. Also cast in Crue Looks that Kill vid
Gorgeous Isn’t She🌹👑😍🤘🏻
80's the best hands down. MTV was the bomb back then when they had continuous metal playing at night.
Thank god i grew up when metal was the only music.
Not that I was the biggest fan of this stuff back then, hell I was listening to misfits and GG Allin but now this is like primo shit compared to 24 pilot and imagine dragons and all that crap horseshit they spoon feed today. Maybe I was too critical back then
Omg you're so lucky I was born in the fucking 2000s only trap and rap now !!.
DEATH TO ALL BUT METAL.
FUCK YOU
My 3 favorite genres are disco, metal and future techno
hairrrrrr nation 🤘
Saw the same...they both opened for Dio...hell of a show...Columbus Ga
I lived the 80s. As well the best damn decade that ever was as far as the music. 59 now still listening to it and just as loud as before. I will listen to it til I die.
Yeah man.still there you had to be there to know
There will never be an era like this ever again. When debauchery and fun went hand in hand and you got away with it. God I miss those days...
I wish 80's hair metal would make a comeback!
I’m 22 and I’m working on a hair metal album lol 😂 probably gonna put it on SoundCloud it whatever when it’s done, if you like dokken and ratt you’d probably dig it
@@nativeitzutakua-9863 love dokken and ratt🤘🏻

I'm so old I saw BON JOVI open for Ratt
Mike Grassman me too! In Hampton, va. Like 85 or 86?
O:
Same, it was my very first concert, i was 14.
Me also, in 85 at the Capital Centre in Landover Maryland
You are so lucky to have seen some of the 80's metal bands of that time.
I was just a teenager growing up in El Salvador and never had the chance to see a band playing until I got to Canada and saw king Diamond played during the 90's.
Sweet young Tawny!
At this time Julie (nickname 'Tawny') Kitaen was already the ex-girlfriend from guitarist Robbin Crosby (RIP). She was also on the Cover from the EP "RATT" and on the debut "Out of the Cellar" .
She went of with David Coverdale and appeared in the Whitesnake videos "Here I go again"(where she was Mindblowing!) , "Is this Love", "Still of the Night", "Fool for your Loving" and "The deeper the Love"!
And Bachelor Party with Tom Hanks. Lol. She was too damn hot.
Yea when she was still hot. At some point she became a nasty looking something or other...
Tawny Catan i
Didn't she also date that asshole OJ Simpson
@@sdime9858 yeah she had an affair with him
Warren D Martini had some of the best intro's!
Warren Demartini ABSOLUTE LEGEND.
Missing the best days
Where's Marty McFly and Doc when you need them, I was 16 in highschool when OOTC was released, us that were young in this era were truly lucky....... Polar opposite of today's world. Peace............
