That was pretty standard. I had bosses that 'asked', but it wasn't really an option......I usually said yes anyway. My credo has always been: I'm already here, been here for hours, what's a couple more? Coming in on my day off? NO WAY. I had a boss named Savina who used to get angry at people who weren't home when she called, or God forbid said no. She lived to work, no one else did.
Every job I’ve had in my life has been Swing or Overnight. NOT a morning person. Could never wake up at 6 or 7am to go to work. Not my thing. After I was done with School, I was done with that Schedule
Yeah I get up at four to get ready for work etc and it’s awful. I’m just always exhausted. I can never get adjusted and it’s been twelve years of this.
I know exactly what you mean. I'm not a morning person either. My husband works at a casino, and he closes. We go to bed no earlier than 3a.m. every night. When we HAVE to get up early in the morning for something, it's torture!!! I tell my employers,you want me to show up on time, schedule me as l ate as you possibly can. I'll even take reduced hours if it's later. Overnights are not a problem for r me.
That job of breaking plastic items out of their mold is a real job they have at the vocational training centre for people with mental disabilities. They only pay them 8 dollars a day but it costs a lot of money to run the centre and pay the staff to assist the disabled workers so it’s mostly to give meaning and normalcy to their lives through employment.
Funny how Clooney wouldn’t have a career without Roseanne (She pushed for him to get more air time on the show) but he didn’t defend her when she got shafted by her co-workers
0:22 God why did they always look dead-exhausted?? Even when they did little, they'd come home, gasp & slump on the couch like slugs. No wonder they were so heavy & their kids weren't.
Idk. My husband I are so fried after a day at our business and we’re not heavy. Just old and tired. They at least had energy for date nights and bowling.

Best comedy of its time. Cast was awesome especially Roseanne Barr n John Goodman, wonderful chemistry. Love watching it in reruns
