  • Yamaha MT10 review. The best motorcycle you can buy? This motorcycle has to be the most brutal bike I’ve ever ridden. It has more power than you would ever need. Have a look around the bike with me then stay for the test ride.
    Big thanks to ‪@WiganYamaha‬ for letting me borrow this amazing machine.
    Big thanks as always to ‪@OxfordProductsLtd‬ for keeping me warm and dry on this cold wet day.

    So true. I have had an MT10 for a few years now and the 3rd and 4th gear gut punch still satisfies. Wheelie monster.

    Just upgraded from a 2016 MT-10 to a 2023 MT-10 SP and let me tell you, the extra money for the SP is definatly worth it. The Öhlins suspension is just that amazing. I live in Norway with even worse roads than in the UK but i put the bike in thr A-3 setting and everything is lovely. Blazing thru the twisties on a bike that is both comfy AND razor sharp is.... wow! What a bike, Yamaha`s second album is even better than their first and the SP is a masterpiece

    I was an early adopter of the original MT10. Still own it 7 years and 32,000 miles later. Still have my licence, I'm still alive! See the 'empty' 10's fuel light was flashing. You get used to that every 100 miles.
    Sorry, but Yamaha lost the plot when they restyled the front. It's awful, and it's what stops many from buying what is otherwise a great bike. Yamaha also removed the nice plastic side frame covers but left the cable holes through the frame. Just looks unfinished.
    My bike was also under £10K new. it's way more now. My advice is to seek out the best example of the old model for proper raw excitement. Serviced correctly and looked after they are totally reliable

      I 100% agree with that. The front end in particular the light set up really doesn’t look good. But when your sat on it you can’t see it. 😂 it is one of the most fun bikes I’ve ever ridden.

    It’s a brilliant bike. I’ve owned mine now for 6 months. Extremely happy with it. If you can get over the odd looks, you’ll be on the most capable machine for the money. Yes.. you can go get a European built naked, it will be just that bit better, but you will hate yourself for paying that much more for something with the maintenance intervals of a needy gf. Nothing sounds as good as a V4.. except Yamaha’s CP4. That’s just as good for me. Proper sound.

    The headlight looks? I mean ALL modern LED era naked bikes have ugly fronts compared to bikes with a fairing....no one has come up with anything yet that I think actually looks nice. Having said that the latest MT10 is no uglier than most I mean it has to have headlights so at least they are not HUGE bug eyes of earlier Triumph speed triple naked bikes! THOSE were hard on the eyes! I think a windshield mounted on the MT-10 makes it's headlights look fine ....and that would be the one mod I would do anyway if nothing else ....maybe some handguards for wind protection too? Ones with turn integral turn signals so I can get rid of the original front ones that fall out if tapped at all

    Shame Yamaha made it a touring bike based around sales in the UK, instead of a real naked R1 with handling like a Triumph street 765.

    I’ve had my 21 MT 09 for about a year an a half. Fully modded and tuned with a full Akra exhaust and absolutely love it, especially in those corners. But I feel like I want a little more weight and stability in those turns. The speed on the mt 09 is great but when getting to those higher numbers that front end really is light. I love to wheelie also. 😉. That’s why I’m on the fence with the MT 10. I’m really leaning towards that purchase.

    • @GillyBikes
      @GillyBikes  Год назад +1

      The MT10 does feel like a bigger / heavier bike and it loves a wheelie. You need to test ride one to be sure. If you do test one though you will definitely want one. It’s just like the MT09 but on steroids!

    • @johnhernandez6434
      @johnhernandez6434 Год назад

      @@GillyBikes yea I went to the dealer and sat on it and pushed it around. Well balanced. I know I would love it. There’s also a 22 Tuono V4 1100 for 1500 dollars more. Not the RR or factory but still nice. Just maintaining an Italian is more expensive.

    • @dougiequick1

      one 'word" XSR900 ....an MT09 with Tracer9 swingarm (literally same p/n) over 2 inch longer than MT problem solved ....If that part did not cost a FORTUNE and cause problems with existing suspension that might be an answer but I am guessing it would be an expensive can of worms, the funny thing? The MT 10 also has a short wheelbase! Where does it get it's stablity? Just the estra girth? But the Tracer9 is even heaver than the mt10 yet Yamaha felt it needed the longer arm more than the MT09 does? Maybe they wanted to keep the 09 "playful" as in wheelie prone etc?

    • @johnhernandez6434
      @johnhernandez6434 Год назад

      @@dougiequick1 and the funny thing is that the MT 10 has a slightly shorter wheelbase than the MT 09. I’ve never ridden the MY 10. I’ve been on my buddys 2019 Aprilia 1100 RR and absolutely loved it. It’s about the same weight as the MT 10 but of course more horse power.
      I just figured even with the short wheelbase of the MT 10 because there’s more weight it would feel so light on the front end even at straighter pulls.
      By no means have I taken the 09 to its limits in hitting turns but it handles them pretty well. I just have to stay very throttle conscious or put it into a higher gear. Maybe a test ride would help.

      Everyone is different. I’m sure there are some people that could ride this bike after passing there test. However there are some that may have been riding for years and they would kill themselves on this bike. It’s all about having the restraint not to ride it like like you have a death wish

    It does make me laugh, people coming on to the MT10 reviews with the “MT09 is better” and “MT09 is more fun” - what a load of bollocks! The 10 is a superior machine in every single department. The 09 is a good bike if you can’t quite stretch to a 10 or if you don’t think you can handle the power but there’s no comparison to be made here.

    I tried to hang with an older MT10 (edit it was an FZ01) on my Tracer 9gt in fast twisties but he was gone after a few turns. I THOUGHT my tracer was nimble enough to make a difference but the few straighter sections he just gained seconds each on which added up to disapearing from view .....agggh! I HATE that! lol makes me want to either buy a more nimble lighter MT09 or just an MT10 or take a road race school like Champs...I mean its not a race on the public roads I dont try to pass anyone unless waved by but still ya knw?
