I have a 2022 Chevy 2500HD Custom gasser model that I paid 54K for and absolutely love it. That 6 speed transmission (6L90E) is basically bullet proof. It shifts smoothly even when towing. The trans temp never went above 180' when I was towing our 9k lb camper in 95' heat. I agree that the 10 speed would give it more 0-60 speed, but......knowing that the 6L90 will always be there for me means a lot. I get 17 to 19mpg on the highway without even trying. Typically 14plus around town with a bunch of stop lights and a top speed of 40. So I'm very happy with that trans and engine combo. And after 1500 miles, it comes into it's own. Meaning it got way quicker and way more fuel efficient. I hope the 10 speed works out for the new models. But I love the 6 speed. I now have 3600 miles on it and with every mile it just keeps getting better and better. It takes some time for these HD engines to break in fully. The brakes too, they acted very under boosted until just recently. I would jump in our Ford Explorer and damn near bang my head off the steering wheel because the brakes in the HD required so much pedal pressure. After about 3K miles they finally start to seat in nicely and require just moderate pressure to use. I'll stick with my 6L90 and hope the best for those that are chasing more gears.
@@charleyg2869 I love the sound of the factory exhaust but have been wanting to change it out for something at least lighter. My goodness it looks like a barrel and is heavy as hell. 2022 custom 2500hd crew cab gasser here. Only have 4k miles on it so far. 8' Fisher plow for snow removal. So far I absolutely LOVE my truck. The custom trim level is basically the same thing that my 2011 LT was. Doesn't have fancy heated seats and stuff. But I bought it to plow snow. And plow snow she will. I have 1 complaint. The windshield wipers park below the defroster. No matter how long you warm it up, they aren't going to thaw out.
I have a 2022 3500HD Chevy and I agree the seats are firm. You notice this on short drives, but I found out after hours in the seat you don't feel fatigued. I've had four Super Duty's in the last five years and the seats are softer, but not better on the long haul. Just my observation.
My dad actually has a bunch of these at his company they recently purchased. And he brought one home the other day and one thing you instantly notice even just in the 2wd version of this truck, is it just feels and looks very big and tall like a small semi would which i love. And is also surprisingly comfortable and quiet. But I'll be honest if we where to get this truck personally I would love the 4wd like that but not only with the rhino liner in the back, but also with just the duramax engine. because not only do diesel engines last longer and go through a little less fuel then a big V8 would, but also mainly i just heard a ton now about the fuel sensor on these V8 engines malfunctioning and not giving fuel to the engines, which intern left people stranded and needing to get that same sensor replaced. But other then that it definitely seems like an awesome truck for a gas work truck. 👍❤️

I wish the lower trims of the GM HD trucks got some of the 2024 updates as well, I believe it's only for LT and above. I know LTZ is their volume seller at this point but I'm sure people who have the WT or Custom would appreciate some updates to the cab.
I’m sure the dash will be changed a little for the WT models and the front end is gonna change but still get halogen head lights I honestly don’t mind the halogen headlights I swap the bulbs for LEDs and since they don’t have a led running strip you don’t have to replace the entire headlight assembly when one goes out.
@@Back_door_bandit_98 I don't mind halogen headlights at all, sure they don't look as nice as some LEDs but it's not that big of a deal to me. I'm sure the front end will get a face lift like the half tons did as well. Also, it would be nice to see some nicer materials for the cab and more comfortable seats. Although, at the end of the day, WT is meant to be thrown around and abused as a *work truck* while still being affordable, so them not updating it as much makes sense.
I think they’ll burn off old stock for the lower trim trucks and then they need to find a way to incorporate the new design without the expensive screens. I think Ford made LED lighting available on all trim levels beginning in 2023 so I would assume GM will follow suit.
