    Patients need to be able to speak, be heard, and be believed.

    Dr Abrams covers many topics faced in the controversy between conventional western medicine and natural medicine. His views are balanced and considered. He speaks a lot of sense. I wish more medical practitioners took his balanced view so that patients could get more well rounded care. When conventional medicine and holistic medicine practice side by side and respect is maintained for each practitioners area of expertise then the patient reaps the benefits.

      indeed, many doctors just prescribe and leave it there, they might tell patients to avoid grain or sugary drinks but rarely recommend some anti-cancer foods for their diets

    Great talk. So, it seems the takeaway for cancer prevention is the same as for ASCVD, vascular dementia, kidney and liver disease prevention: eat plants, exercise, keep BMI around 21, Omega3’s, garlic turmeric and ground pepper. Maybe with a splash of metformin. ?

    • @happycook6737
      @happycook6737 2 года назад +1

      No for metformin. I forget why but think I heard Dr. Greger or Dr. John McDougal speak about metformin risk.

    Very interesting video. But how do you explain all of the people who have cured their cancer naturally without conventional treatment?

      We HAD a friend who was convinced she could cure her breast cancer naturally. She went to various “natural” clinics who offered all the standard menu of super healthy living along with high dose vitamin C infusion. Clearly, the word “HAD” gives away the ending. Very sad, not just for her but her 3 young boys and husband. At the time she started her natural healing path, it had not metastasized. By refusing surgery, the cancer metastasized and “that’s all she wrote”. I’m all for natural remedies, but even people who eat amazingly healthily and exercise, have low BMI .. still get cancer. Our friend grew her own vegetables, her family ate WFPB, was a personal trainer, about as healthy as you could imagine. So, here is a story where “All” is definitely not “All”. The question is : do you want to gamble your life on 1 in a million long shot. Even if the actual number is 1 in 50 beat their cancer naturally, that means 49 out of 50 DID. NOT. If you believe the natural path is the way to beat cancer, then, logically, you should immediately engage in a natural healthy lifestyle and simply “not get cancer”, but, most cancers really don’t give a damn about your beliefs. The really sad part is that once she acknowledged that the “natural path” wasn’t working … it was,too late.

      @@jp7357 , that's sad to hear, but at least she got to make the choice for herself. That's what matters most.
      Also, just because it did not work for her is no excuse to decide it doesn't work.
      However, it does not work for everybody, as evidenced by your friend and many others.
      So, what's the solution?
      To keep an open mind and to keep learning about ALL contributing factors and ALL potential causes using the best western medicine provides, including testing, tech and Functional Medicine, along with complementary medicine using a holistic approach.
      A holistic approach is absolutely necessary though for the best chance at reducing recurrence.
      A holistic approach is NOT limited to just the physical though.
      It includes conscious and subconscious mind, emotional body, energetic body and the physical body.
      A main reason that "healthy" people doing "everything right" can still develop dis-ease and die from it is because only the physical is addressed in most cases.
      The root causes of dis-ease are not just physical though, hence people still dying whether they choose conventional only, natural only and sometimes both of those.

      Even body fat or dietary fat increases cancer risk. Salt too. If you see a fat woman down on all 4's in a field-- just drive on. It's most likely me grazing in a field since it seems everything we eat is risky. 😂
