for more heavy commercial type use would a design or other expert be needed to help with design, permits etc? I wanna do a box building with metal beams on top and do most of the construction myself.
Nice job on video and the project, I just started the plans in motion up here in upstate New York, but my garage will be 50' wide 36' front to back and 12' to 13' at the eaves. Not sure if I want high enough for jayco camper might just build separate aluminum roof structure for that. In the area cordend off for your workshop, could you add a second floor for overhead storage? Just an idea... great job
Had a shop that size and insulated just like that.. It will rip eventually. So plywood on lower walls--- Run conduit power on plywood for plugs and lights. Propane for a heater. It will get dark in there so i cut in windows and added a bathroom.. Its all a man toy.

I live in central cali.been shopping for the same size building , I got quote from local company . 33k for the building kit , 12k concret , 10k for the erection , included 2 doors 12x14 and one walkin door, insulation , total 55k . Should I go for it?
43k is about 3X what I was expecting. The price of these must have really gone up the last 10 years. I had a cousin about 15 years ago have one similar to this built and the price included 6” concrete floor & insulation and he spent just over $18k
I'm looking at moving upstate next year to get out of this rat race. I was thinking a steel home would be a great safer alternative to a mobile home and much more affordable than a typical home. I'd like to put one on maybe a couple acres. there are so many variables including the steel structure scams that I'm finding out about. What else do I need to know? Condensation issues, energy efficiency, I for sure don't want the inside like this one. What about plumbing, electric... I want it done for me I don't want no games. I'm sure it will be a little more expensive like that but I want turn key. Any information would be helpful
They do make homes with this basic metal building structure. You'll have to search your area for metal building home construction companies and it would be cheaper then building a conventional home.
@@petebeasttexashomesteading In my area of South Florida every company down here is a scam. Every company seems like they change names screw ppl and repeat. I found on place in biz 13 years but when I search online nothing is over a year old. Then the company history in sunbiz doesn't add up
I cant believe that hydraulic ram on that loader doesn't have a stop ring welded to the back of that piston to keep it from popping out? Just that one lil clip is worth posting on RUclips so everybody can see Kabota's ram. Now for your building. That's very nice, and the same size i want. I like how it's constructed. Who makes this kit? If you don't mind me asking, how many acres is your property? I'm looking to pick up 5-10 acres in Florida and going to do a building like this with a small apartment in side. Goos job, nice build
Thanks, I have 20 acres and the building was built by a local company that puts up metal buildings so it's not a kit. I just told him what size I wanted 40'x60'x14' at the eaves. What size doors I wanted and where I wanted them and a 4-inch thick slab is pretty standard here. I would look for and talk to a local metal building builder and see what he says. My total price from slab to finish was about $43,500
I just re watched this video again. Our building is 40x60 it has been standing 44 years. Most of my building is open to the elements there is one end wall two sections open then last section closed up with windows an upstairs. The wife says lets enclose it. She calls the company the buildings name which is shown on the ends. This guy gives us a price of $80,000. Wow! So through their company we ordered new girts, sheet panels, bolts, screws and now the door frames and structure parts. I had my roofer come in put new metal roof on so it's done. It's only me and my wife doing this job so it may take awhile' Then can have door company come in to hang the new roll up doors.
I want to turn that exact building into a home. I live in a very wet part of the country and want a large open space at one end for undercover outdoor living plus parking!
This may sound like the craziest idea for the use of one of these arched panel buildings. I am a disabled female veteran and I am looking for ways to build a loft style building which allows easy movement in a wheelchair, and use it as my home. Any ideas? I know I would have to add heat/ac plumbing for a kitchen and a bathroom. Thank you for any ideas and help you may have for me. I have been begging my local VA for handicap adapted home grant, and after 27 plus years, I have given up on my VA doing anything for me.
There are many metal building builders that build metal building homes and they're less expensive then your traditional home. Just do a google search on "Metal building homes" or in your area. Here are a couple I found and scroll down for pictures. www.metal-building-homes.com/24-x-30-metal-building-home-for-a-couple-or-small-fam-hq-plans-pictures/# metalbuildinghomes.org/mueller-buildings/

I'm sorry that it's like this for us Veterans, Ma'am. Thats pretty embarrassing... knowing that we give more than any reasonable person would give, for our country, and when they send us home damaged, they just say "Well, on to the next person that'll give their life or limb for next to nothing". I was told directly "We're not in the business of fixing soldiers, we're in the business of weeding-out the broken one's". That was at my medical board in the Army, when I was fighting to stay in. Anyway, I hope that you get what you need, in order to live a better quality life. Again... I'm sorry that it's like this for us.
I think for what you’re looking you should check out the Barndominium I think this will be exactly what you’re looking for and set up anywhere you like. And if you’re looking for a builder for this type of building check out RR buildings on RUclips this guy builds amazing barns.look up, Epic Post Frame Home walk through, on RUclips.
Are you happy with the size? I originally was thinking of a 40 X 60. But want to section off 20 feet for a wood shop. Also have two projects cars, storage, work bench, etc. Who built yours? Are you happy with the company? Are there things you wish you would have added or not done? Windows?
I'm very happy with the building but it's filling up quick. I have two cars an 18 ft trailer, tractor and implements work bench and area and just enough room to park my pickup if I need to. So I wouldn't mind if it was a little bigger but that's ok. I had it built by a small local company but I'm not sure were they got the materials from.
Nice job! You might want to protect it with a French drain, catch basins, channel drains, trench drains, dry wells, and an external sump pump. This can be DIY job. However, rent a trencher to do the heavy digging. It costs about $100 per day. I noticed you showed at the beginning of the video some water puddles, and you mentioned rain when the foundation was tarped before the pouring of the concrete. If you do have heavy rain, you can use the French drain to carry the rainwater as far away from your property as possible, and you could use it, also, to get a hold of the water puddles where you thought of installing your shed initially. Place catch basins below the water spouts from the roof and wherever you have water puddles. Since your property is large you might want to use a combination of dry wells with an external sump pump pit. The dry wells will keep some of the storm water below grade, and for very strong rains the sump pump will carry the water away from the buildings. You might need two different pipes to do this (perforated and regular pipe). Use 6" pipes to do this due to the large property area. Use channel and trench drains at vehicle entrances and around the building. This site might provide some ideas, and Chuck from Apple Drains here at RUclips might provide better guidance: www.ndspro.com

Not to be nosy how much did this building run you the way it is with the concrete and the building I'm just trying to get a rough idea on how much that building is gonna be and then how much it's going to be extra to Do Heated floors please comment back this building is exact what I would like to purchase
The total cost was $43,500 and has a four inch slab and three inch insulation on the walls.
good size......plenty of space for a good workshop
Fistful Pennies Thanks, I did build a work area and bench. I have that video on my channel.
Beautiful building and it's insulated. Wow, one hell of a shop. Good Luck!! Vinny
Thank you
Looks beautiful man, one day I hope to have something like that for a live in workshop/art studio one day. I really like how you selected so many roll up doors. You can really open that place up when your working
👍 Thank you
Nice! Lots of space.
Thank you.
Are you going to bring electrical power to it?
Yep got power installed shortly after the video was made.
cool shop nice size for cars and to do work that is a good price nice shop
Thank you
Pete I have put up a few buildings my self, You got a good deal and you will enjoy that building for years.
Good luck and fill it full of stuff.
Thanks and yes it is full now :)
for more heavy commercial type use would a design or other expert be needed to help with design, permits etc?
I wanna do a box building with metal beams on top and do most of the construction myself.
Nice job on video and the project, I just started the plans in motion up here in upstate New York, but my garage will be 50' wide 36' front to back and 12' to 13' at the eaves. Not sure if I want high enough for jayco camper might just build separate aluminum roof structure for that. In the area cordend off for your workshop, could you add a second floor for overhead storage? Just an idea... great job
gregory hume Thank you, My building height at the eaves are 14 feet so I guess I could put a second floor for storage.
Very nice. I'd love to have something just about that size.
Thank you
Had a shop that size and insulated just like that.. It will rip eventually. So plywood on lower walls--- Run conduit power on plywood for plugs and lights. Propane for a heater. It will get dark in there so i cut in windows and added a bathroom.. Its all a man toy.

Always check your local building offical to understand your soil and freeze depth.
Used metal building...phoenix.A.Z...area
that provides a great shell for a nice shop / garage!
John P Thank you
Great Vid.
Thank you.
I am interested in this build looks great
Thanks
I am running numbers on building a 60x30 shop. Plan on doing as much of the work possoble to keep cost down. Im think 2 main garage doors plus a door on the side. Cool shop.
Jorge Serna Sounds about right with the doors. just make sure your garage doors are wide enough and high enough for getting things in and out.

So what is the rough cost, slab, construction cost and materials of a 60x30 shop......roughly. I'm trying to plan for my RV. THNAKS
Do they not need. To. Stretch cable wire from rafter to floor to keep walls intact during storms?
I guess not, but that could be something that can be done after to reinforce the structure.
Great video.
Teri Guerin Thank you
Nice building , the one thing I would have added was the windows at the top for natural light.
Thanks, at the time I didn't want would be thieves looking in and I was keeping cost down. But I might puts some windows in now.
How about a follow up video to see how you finished off the inside? Work bench, loft or storage areas and just how you filled up
the large space.
Well right now it's definitely full of junk but I do have a couple of videos building my work bench area and heavy duty garage shelves. ruclips.net/video/FUrOgUudlBg/видео.html ruclips.net/video/sBIh2y-PLvU/видео.html
AWESOME GARAGE ✊
Thank you
Who built this for you? And what was the total cost? I’m outside of Wilson OK and need one just like this
very nice building
Thank you.
looks great
Thank you.
How thick is that concrete? 8”? Did they have to pour any beams for movement?
The floor is 4 inches thick and they didn't have to pour any beams. Three years old now and no cracks in the concrete.
Thanks for answering. I didn’t know if you were going to put a car lift in your garage, I guess not. I’m about to build a 40x60 shop in Texas.
Can you fit 2 cars 1 behind each other in this garage
Yes and with about 6 feet left over.
@@petebeasttexashomesteading How do you like it Yeah we do heated floors and I'm gonna insulate the snot out of it I wanna make a man cave in there too
@@petebeasttexashomesteading I was wondering if you did the heated floors please comment back
No heated floors here, we need AC if anything☺
@@petebeasttexashomesteading OK yeah I'm gonna do why the heated floors but I'm also gonna do a fallout shelter on their floor I'm just waiting For my lawsuit to come in to the bomb shelter I have to have a pit and then I want to do a man's cave up in the upper area
Great looking shop. Who made it and who you got to install it
Thanks, It was a local company not too far from me. Here's the link: mcknightconstruction.com/
Think of getting a shop. How thick was the concrete slab?
Four inches
How did it held up in the recent freeze?
Kinda curious what happened to the Kubota grapple, did he lift it or transport the tree wrong? It seems when lifting the first log the cylinders were fully extended when he drove away. Looking to build a shop similar to yours (with trees in the way) thanks Paul.
It broke while he was transporting it, not sure why. Thanks for watching.
Did the 43.5K include concrete as well? What is the name of the company that sells this building?
Yes the $43,500 was everything complete. The company is out of Pollok, Texas mcknightconstruction.com/
Where are your squaring cables in the roof and walls wind protection , keeps building square ,
The building is good for 90 mph winds. They did offer a higher mph building and I'm sure they use cables.
No bathroom or floor drains?
nice work
Thank you
I live in central cali.been shopping for the same size building , I got quote from local company . 33k for the building kit , 12k concret , 10k for the erection , included 2 doors 12x14 and one walkin door, insulation , total 55k .
Should I go for it?
It all depends on your area. I know California is one of the most expensive states to live in so at that price, it's not too bad.
Get 2 or 3 more bids and you’ll know.
43k is about 3X what I was expecting. The price of these must have really gone up the last 10 years. I had a cousin about 15 years ago have one similar to this built and the price included 6” concrete floor & insulation and he spent just over $18k
18k yah that's not happening lol
Hey I live in. California do u have the plans
How much does something like this run for? That same set up
This was $43,500.00 complete from foundation to finish.
Hi nice, what cane budget you need build a garage like this
Total cost was $43,500
I'm looking at moving upstate next year to get out of this rat race.
My total price from slab to finish was about $43,500
HOW MUCH TOTAL INCLUDING PERMIT FEE AND CONCRETE ? THANKS
It's in the description, it was $43,500.00 complete from concrete to finish.

What size I beam are the trusses
👍
What about electricity? Are you planning to add lightning and outlets?
Yes , I already had an electrician put in lights and outlets.
Pete B. Cool. is that included in the amount you posted in the description? If not do you mind sharing what that cost?
zzzACE73 zzz I had an electrician do the work, and it was not cheap......about $8,000.00
Pete B. Thanks for the info.
Nicely done, are you going to have a loft inside? Where does the water & power come from? Thanks
Thank you, there is no running water or loft, I only had electricity put in after the building was built.
How much did the building cost
$43,500 complete
I want to turn that exact building into a home. I live in a very wet part of the country and want a large open space at one end for undercover outdoor living plus parking!
dreamwalker12 We have some friends that did just that and it really came out really nice.
Very nice thinkig, i work for the best metal building company in Colorado Baker builders , I been doing this for over 10 years now am trying to star my own lil busyness going on, if any further questions I can show picture of all beautiful buildings I put up myself thank you
I'm sorry that it's like this for us Veterans, Ma'am.
I used to live in Lufkin, lived there 5 years your place looks like that area...
Yep not too far from Lufkin.
@@petebeasttexashomesteading I moved to Omaha, Ne. about a year and a half ago but, moving back to Texas later...
what color of trim and what color walls you do
don't remember exactly the colors but it's basically tan with brown trim.
What county in Texas ? What state did you move from? We’re you in the city in Texas .
What type and how thick of insulation did you go with?
+Spencer Whitaker It is a 3 inch thick fiberglass blanket insulation that has to be installed before or under the outside sheeting.
This site might provide some ideas, and Chuck from Apple Drains here at RUclips might provide better guidance:
