What gimbal do you prefer?! Also, I'm aware I could just use the joystick, but it's inaccurate and i've NEVER liked using them personally. I’m also NOW aware I entered underslung mode WRONG, my bad on that lol. Ronin-S is DOPE tho, I’m STILL gonna be using it for my traveling! All of these gimbals are good, get one that supports your camera payload and get to shooting! This is NOT me saying “don’t buy this”, most people don’t even use roll or maybe you plan to use the infinity roll feature anyways, this is just my preference and always has been.
YCImaging currently using the crane plus with a6500. When I flip it upside down, I use the tripod stand as handles. Tends to work pretty good instead of holding it from the actual handle. 👍🏽 Sidenote; love your vids, keep creating it’s inspiring bro.
Totally agree with you! Buddy of mine uses the Crane 2 and I just think it's bulky and not better at all! And the motormovements idd! I have a big Ronin, but I also have a Varavon Birdycam Lite! That gimbal is perfect! Totally disassembled it fits inside a small laptop like bag! It can also set up in many different forms and they sell spare parts for it when something breaks down! Definitely love that gimbal and use it for practically every shoot I go to! Keep up the awesome work!
Im currently using the RoninM and i def do love it. U fortunately im workin with the Canon T6i which is a great camera for pictures and does video quite well but the focusing isnt as quick as id like it to be. My main reason for wanting the RoninS is for the focusing knob AND its easier to pack up n carry thru the airport.
I prefer the Zhiyun crane M, it's the lightest I've found on the market, and I'm all about lightweight. To be fair, not everyone uses the GX85 and 14mm lens for a gimbal set up.
As a DP, I still love my glidecam/steadicam setups and feel that they have a fluid movement that is seen as more cinematic than stabilizers, like using a jib. However, I own a Ronin-M as well for certain shots that the glidecam cannot do. My thoughts on one handed gimbals are that they restrict motion a little too much, and they almost seem more consumer grade than professional. The DJI Ronin S having no removable battery kind of ruins it for me as well. However, any good cinema shooter can take any of these tools and get great results. It all comes down to personal preference.
You must hold button for transfer to inverted mod man, you can break gimbal motors if you do it your way... just watch official DJI tutorials or read manual ;)
I have the ronin m but I like the S because you don’t necessarily need an external monitor and if you’re having to shoot in tight spaces the S is a nice piece of equipment to get the job done. It’s ease of use and also if you don’t own an external monitor you wouldn’t have to with the S which could save you some money. I love my M though but just my ✌🏽 cents.
Nice video! I own a Ronin M and I am very happy with it! I have a friend who has a Ronin S and a clear advantage the Ronin S has over the M is that you can actually see the screen of your camera and you don't need exra stuff. I (with the Ronin M) had to purchase an external monitor (+batteries, +battery charger, +mount, +hdmi cables) to see what I'm filming.
I had this problem initially, but then I found that if you hold the handle of the ronin s parallel to the ground (flat rather than vertical) you can pan and roll at the same time without obstruction.
I’m sure this is true, the motion is just awkward on your hands and back when you’re attempting a lower shot. You have to lower the gimbal, tilt it back so the camera and handle are vertical, and twist it lol.
Been planning to go back to the Ronin-M myself. I have been using the Crane 2 all year, and I'm really missing the fluid and overall look/feel of the Ronin-M in my footage. I think another big flaw of all one handed gimbals is the fact that the weight is above the handles, so you are balancing the weight of the camera and makes it more difficult to get those smooth fluid shots. Underslung mode allows gravity to help keep the gimbal more stable in my opinion. I really don't think any one handed gimbal will outperform the Ronin-M. Keep grinding my man. Salute!
I used the Ronin-M for wedding UP UNTIL one time the bridal getting ready was in a hotel room and I looked like the biggest tool with a giant gimbal in the tiny hotel room with no room to move around. Now its Pilotfly h2-45 for weddings, ronin-m for music/dance videos...for me.
To get it to roll and pan at the same time you have to set the motors up for that. By default it may do what you are showing here but notice by changing it from Mode 1 to Mode 3 how different it reacts. You need to customize one of the modes. If you want to turn it and it NOT hit it's self on it's self you have to hold the trigger push the camera out a little further and then do it and it won't do that either. Under slung mode is really easy to get into, that's not how you do it. You hold the trigger and lean the stick down, you can get it there in less than 2 seconds, no joystick movement required, you also don't have to touch the camera with your hands. All in all; you have valid points. I still think it's far more advanced than the Ronin-M and an all around better unit but I can understand. Other companies are already making the handle for it. DJi I believe is starting to produce the handle now but I don't know if it's for sale yet. Another thing to think about is Ronin-S works really well with cameras that have a good auto focus system for video. Unlike the Crane 2 or the Ronin-M, nothing is blocking the screen and the screen is right where you need it to be to touch it, meaning you don't have to use an external monitor. With the GH5 I'm not sure how it would be. From what I hear, you still have to manual focus on the GH5 and I don't know how difficult that is on that camera. The follow focus on the Ronin-S works with my camera but my camera's AF system is quite literally about perfect so I don't have to touch manual focus. I use the Ronin S, I don't put any stabilization on it in post. No micro jitters. I seen micro jitters one time but I researched and found out why that was happening. I fixed the problem, now it doesn't happen. I find that its plenty stable even without IS on a lens, IS on a lens or a camera with IBIS may help some though. With mine, I can hit a pot hole really hard with the car and the footage won't even have that in it, it just keeps it stable while the car is not. I also don't shoot in slow motion all the time like a lot of people do. I feel like people over do that. Plus, sometimes I want 4k and not 1080p and my camera won't do 60FPS at 4k, I have to go to 1080p for that.
3:20 You are literally doing it wrong. Learn how to use the tools and learn techniques beforehand so you wont run into problems. There's a tutorial on how to make that intention movement easy if you actually learn it. The way your explaining it is like trying to teach how to jump and land on your feet without bending your knees to land your falling. You'll break your knee caps if you dont do it right. So learn how to use your equipment. Much love and good quality video.
You kind of sound like a dick head. There's a nice way to correct people's mistakes, without trying to cut them down or belittle them. Even if your intentions are pure you definitely worded this the wrong way and I would have taken offense to this comment and looked at it as a degradation if it were directed at me.
@@BroScro my point was that the video shows improper usage of the Ronin-S. I wouldn't use an expensive tool that way. That Ronin-S was giving to him. He dosent care about the ronin s. It's clearly
I kind of feel like once you've tried one gimbal you've tried them all. I think they all are dope. I don't see the point in getting a new one every-time a new version comes out. Except for a version that supports more weight.
As many other reviewers have stated, you really need to read the manual. The move you are trying to accomplish can be done with the handle held horizontally. The motors will have full range of motion in that position as well. Also, you are switching into underslung mode incorrectly. You should never grab the gimbal motors! You’re going to break it. I agree with you that the regular Ronin may be more comfortable to carry for low angle shots due to the top handle. However, if you want a top handle to hold the Ronin-S in underslung mode like the Ronin-M, you could quickly add one once you rotate the gimbal upside down. The grip has mounting holes on the bottom of it and it would be easy to just screw on a handle there.
With ronin S, to get to under sling mode, just hold the trigger and pitch strait down until the handle is on top. Don’t do any weird sideways turning movements, it’s actually really easy.
I'm a little late to comment, however I wanted to say that I'm just getting into cinematography; I am using the Moza Aircross. It's pretty lightweight and compact. Also, even though it's a pistol-grip gimbal, there is a dual handle grip made for it as well.
I feel the same way bro. I shoot all my client work/ music vids with my RoninM. I have a bunch of pistol grip gimbals and they are great for run and gun and shooting yt bts. But it’s no where near as smooth as the shots I get with my dialed in RoninM
I'm using the Moza Air. Had many issues before, but now this thing is a beast. I love it. Its a gimbal. It will work as good as your gimbal. So no need to 'upgrade'
Sentimental likes here eh? 🤣🤣 Most of the people giving thumbs up already own a Ronin M and this video kinda reassured their purchase over the new, portable and more cost effective Ronin S. I'm not saying he didn't make a point in the video, but to be honest it's just this particular motion (Roll On) he can't quite achieve that holds him from preferring the Ronin S as his gimbal of choice (plus the upside down filming). Guys, at the end of the day they both do the same thing, they are both *GREAT* , and I particularly will still buy the Ronin S given its fabulous portability for travelling and ergonomics overall. Can't wait to use it paired with the app, juicy stuff yo!
It’s really painful watching you handle the gimbal. You’re doing it completely wrong when transitioning to different modes. Read the manual or watch tutorial.
Its doing it because you are holding the shaft straight up and down, its not meant to be held that way. It clearly states to hold the shaft straight out in front of you, as if its laying straight out on the table. I have the same gimbal and I can make it do the same thing. If I hold it out straight it works perfectly .
Ronin S with handlebars, inverted. Now it's a Ronin M. Buy a short handle and get quick low shots- it's now a Zhiyun crane 3 Lab. Hold it with handles at chest level, straight up, it is it's own thing. One hand it, two hand it. Handle flashlight it, duel handle flashlight it, mini handle flashlight it. And there is more. Super versatile. I need that because I am on a certain budget and needed 1 gimbal that could act as 2, 3 or more. This is it. Love your vids!
I just bought one of these DJI Ronin M gimbals thanks to your video you helped me make my decision. I have been filming for a while and needed something new to add to my productions, beside my Mavic Pro. I enjoy the videos always so much information shared that will help the next shooter.
FINALLY... I thought I was the only one in the same boat, when I first got the Moza Aircross and I don't like the fact the motors get obstructed when I rotate too much on either side. At this point i'm saving up for a Ronin M seems like the only one that decent enough for my needs :)
Woah so this is the first vid I’ve watched by you. I was completely distracted by such a high quality video this is that for 1 minute I didn’t even listen to the subject. Really very excellent!
I don't think that the S replaces the M, both are complementary. On events, "run and gun" and "light" travel I take hand gimbals. The M is for relaxed/planned shots (Music videos, ads etc..)
Hey 1 videographer to another I followed your channel for a few years. I respect the work you do and the way you keep your content positive. Getting to the point why you do what you do without knocking people who work different
I use a single handed gimbal everything you are showing I experience as well. These style gimbals are great for basic shots as well as self shots when you want to do more creative shots or want to start adding to your set up ie monitor follow focus and or larger cameras these harder to setup and get heavy quickly
The gimbal glitching on that move is because it is switching up which motors are assigned to which axis. All the single grip gimbals have that jerk when transitioning and it drives me CRAZY too! They need to limit the speed during that transition, and transfer over the orientation/movement of the gimbal from the upright mode to the other mode (I guess it’s outward-slung? Like underslung but straight out in front of you). I’m sure this would require a deeper rework of how gimbals work though, because I doubt current controllers can make that switch without it being instantaneous. There would have to be a translation layer (virtually) between the gyro sensors and the motor control.
I like the video, but in order to compare, you should show us the motion with the "M" as well. You showed up what you wanted to do with the "S", but didn't do the same with the "M" so mayber neither of them can do it. But as Tucker said below, you can, in fact, do that motion by holding it parallel. Keep up the videos.
ayyy dji just sent me the ronin s. Was looking up some reviews to see what people thought and saw this. Noticed your username and remember seeing you comment on my ig or some shit like that. Keep it up g
I prefer ronin S there’s a lot more convenient features. Tripod on bottom (no need for separate stand) . Front trigger can keep camera facing forward no water which way you rotate it and also double tap sets it back to normal along with clicking 3 times turns it into selfie mode. Charging battery don’t have to unscrew any batteries and charge separately you can just plug the whole thing in. Thumb stick you can screw the bangle into a tripod and use the thumb stick to pan as smooth as a manfrotto tripod head. Orrr you can pull out the tripod leg extension it comes with, place it on a desk and pan and tilt smooth as butter. Also double tap power button shuts off motor but not battery so when u double tap it again it immediately turns all the motors back to where they were. Also the M button you can hold it down and it follows every motion of your hand so if people or cars are moving by quickly you are able to hold the button to keep up . With the Ronin M, I found myself constantly falling behind with a pan or tilt because my motor speeds were set to less sensitive. With the S you can choose the speed of both the thumb stick and just turning it completely separately. Also if you connect it to the Ronin app you can pull out the tripod underneath it, place it on a table or anything really, face it in a direction you want to start the shot at, pin that point in the app, choose a second point where you want it to pan or tilt to in that shot, pin it in the app, then choose any amount of points. You choose the duration speed of movement to each point, roll your camera, then press play on the app, beautiful shots result. Oh also the roll axis setting it constantly rolls the camera sideways and the result looks super dope. Oh and it’s also cheaper. Btw you were kinda hurting it by flipping it upside down like that, you gotta hold the trigger. Thank you for your time 👍🏻
I totally agree with you on the limitations of pistol grip gimbals. I purchased a dual-handle for the Crane and it has helped a lot. Makes it like a smaller (and cheaper) Ronin-M. I've been considering the Ronin-M as something to upgrade to. I need something that can hold the camera+cage and hopefully a mic!
I Really appreciate your honesty on this topic. We’re patiently awaiting the new BMPC4k and these were the 2 gimbal options that we were stuck between. You definitely made it easier to come to a decision.
I liked your honesty. One of the only videos I've seen that doesn't seem like a paid advert. I've got the S coming, well see how I like it. Perhaps I will send back for the M.
Sold my Ronin-M for the Ronin-S. BAD MOVE. Going to be buying another Ronin-M because even though the Ronin-S is very versatile, its so jittery and goes crazy during more complex movements, like you showed in the video. I miss the buttery smoothness of my Ronin-M
I've used both and own the M. I would have to agree that the S just isn't what I'd fully want out of a professional gimbal. The M, although its discontinued at this point, is a great Segway working up to the ronin 2
Same problems, I feel like we're limited in the camera movements and that sucks pretty hard, overall when we already have an idea of how we want to shoot something
Couldn’t agree more. I do a ton of sports stuff and shot with the M for years. I got the S assuming it would just be more and better but I’m so frustrated trying to just get that low angle looking up shot that makes up a ton of the training style stuff I’m doing. I would have assumed it would be such an easy shot but it’s a headache. I also need a monitor and a mic on my camera and using the S has been a real pain to hook up with accessories and shoot in any other mode then straight on. Great video.
My Ronin S will be here in a few days. I am looking forward to it because the follow focus is compatible with my GH5/GH5s out of the box. I don't see myself doing what you want to do with the roll thing. So, it's not weird, it's just your preference. The Ronin M requires a stand that you have to drag around with you. Not for me. I think I'll be happy with my Ronin S. Cheers.
@@CyriousVisuals Thinking about getting the Ronin M now. did you guys have any problems with the Ronin M so far? It's hard to get one new now so i might go for a used one, do you know if there is any way to check the battery cycle or how much the motors have been used? thanks
What up YC!! Yo, DJI has been really lacking in keeping their app up to date for their Ronin M customers and I’m interested to know how you’ve gotten around the issue. Please share your latest experience using the DJI app with your Ronin, I’d like to know your perspective on Ronin-M’s future
“Pistol grip gimbal” love that name, hadn’t heard it before. I use the crane v2 and have been wanting something beefier for heavier set ups. I shoot weddings, business promos and indie films. I think I will keep the crane for the weddings and business promos, but it seems like I may need the M for Indie films.
Like you said, this is a particular type of shot YOU use. Which makes it better for you! I think the Feiyutechs with the dual handles might solve this slightly better than most other pistol grips since there is the dual handle option. Thanks for the great video bro!
You’re the chillest dude on the internet. Great video, there’s so much hype over the ronin-s (yup I bought one) but it’s important realize that they are all just different tools for different jobs. Keep up the great work mah dude
You’re making it less painful for me while waiting forever for my order to go through. I already have a Ronin M. Now you have me thinking of getting a Glidecam instead 🤔
YCImaging lol. Nah I feel you bro. You not the only one to be somewhat underwhelmed by the Ronin S. I just think after watching a few videos and reading reviews that my expectations are lowered. Dope video as always from you homie!
Built4Anything facts. This just shows that we need both the gimbal and something like a Steadicam or glidecam. For me there isn’t a one or the other. We need both
They plan on releasing attachments and upgrades for it as well so you don’t have to use the pistol grip, they will even eventually release a drone attachment as well, the rumor is.
I almost bought Ronin-S but I couldn’t wait till the release time, so I went ahead and purchased Ronin M. I have a Canon C100, that’s a heavy camera, I wasn’t for sure if Ronin-S will be capable of handling it
Great video! Thank you! This is what I was looking all time since Ronin - S came. Great job! Big thumb up! I have Ronin - M and I didn't know what to do, sell it or not...till this video. I hope to see more videos like this :)
Fair enough. I actually made the switch. One reason is; I get pinged less for permits by cops with the "S" as well as if I'm in a public building. I hate asking permission.
I was literally just doing that same awkward movement with my Ronin-S today and I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. Haha. I’ve got the M too and I agree, different gimbal for different settings. Both are pretty sweet!
The way you’re forcing the gimbal to underslung mode is not good for the motors... you can do it the simple way for quick and dirty by just holding the trigger, or to get the motor in the proper position for underslung, double tap the power button and it will pause the motors and you can move it how you like then double tap again to resume power to the motors. I noticed the same problem with my Ronin S when using roll mode, I think it’s because the 45 degree roll motor isn’t able to work at extreme angles the way the 90 degree set up works on all other gimbals. It’s a trade off, see your screen but lose some function in the one area.. mostly I believe this will be a problem for a very very small portion of ronin s users who want to do the very specific thing you attempt in the video.
definitely prefer the feel of the M footage and, like you, I love steadicam feel of the roll. I used to be gimbal obsessed and then realised that steadicam is better. That said, i do have a Crane v2 and was considering selling that to get the Ronin S. I find the same problems with the crane as with the motion you showed in this video, and when in inverted mode - motors whirr etc. I'm now wondering whether its still worth getting the S. I work with Sony cameras mainly and hope that when they can communicate with the S that the follow focus, timelapse modes etc will make this a worthwhile purchase. BUT now I'm thinking for 200 more I could get the M and bring my production game up. Tough one.
Thanks for the info. You basically covered everything I wanted to know that the other videos haven't cover. I have used the a number of the Ronins and now that I'm working for myself I'm considering buying one. I wasn't sure whether to go the M or the pistol grip S or GX2. I think I might just stick to a large gimbal for now. Thanks again. I hit subscribe.
I had a very similar issue when trying to mimic a jib shot (low to high) with a pan with the crane 2. The pan was unresponsive until a certain height and then it would snap over, all at once. I guess you just need the right tool for the right job
...dope vid... Wisdom from experience! I still rock the glidecam/arm/vest for larger projects...I took the classes so I stick with it... Got a phone mobile gimbal for smaller projects...
I definitely plan to buy the Ronin s after I see all the cool little gadgets you can do like the twist and the controls are super impressive and the fact you can get around at events much easier then the ronin m. Both a pretty dope ass stabilizers lol but yea def agree with the fact."they do the same thing"😂😂😂
I've been planning on buying the Ronin-s basically for just the one feature it's got for spinning shots. I use the Came-TV Argo gimbal, which is basically the Ronin-M, but it comes with the thumb controller. I might just have to get a glide-cam for the spinning shots.. and besides, I can go full 360° that way too, like a couple shots on The Weeknd video "Reminder".
I had some major FOMO with the Ronin S cuz' everyone is buying them. But I already own the Zhiyun Crane V2 and it's served me well. So I'm gonna stick with what I already have.
I got the same problems between the ronin m abs the zihyun crane V2. But I got a few more reasons why I prefer the ronin m. The stick gimbals are to high at the picture, this is why ronin m footage look more organic because most of the time you recording at a lower distance to the floor.
I think two things you said are right on the money. One they are all good.. Two depends on what you are gonna use them for. A v-logger probably wants a pistol grip style, While I prefer the M for video. Great Video, Great Job!!!
I've heard the Freefly Movi gimbals are better than Ronin altogether. Used to own the Ronin M, sold it and bought an Ikan DS2. Ronin M is definitely more steady. Although the DS2 is an awesome design(motor doesn't cover screen, tap to focus is easy), also switching to overhand mode is really easy much better than the Ronin S. Kind of unusable without a lens that has digital IS or an IBIS camera. Thinking about buying a Ronin again or a Movi simply so I don't need IS as much.
Bro be honest 100% with me,i know you are.Im a sub for a lng while ago.Gotta love your videos, alot to learn and chill.I was about to buy ronin s for music videos, video tours and shit.Tested today on official dji store, but didnt like it so much idk why,its not as stable as i thought. So ronin M or ronin S for professional work?
Why don’t you try rolling with grip horizontally rather than vertically I saw someone else comment that and I’ve also seen that is the way they use the roll feature on other tutorials and the DJI commercial. Is doing that way still not the motion your looking for?
Ive seen and heard so many videos of other people having no problems flipping the camera into low mode... especially with the motors making that kind of noise..... I know you use a lot of gimbles and you have a preference but it seems like you are doing something different because they don’t get any sort of motor noise when flipping it.... they also weren’t holding the camera while trying to flip it into low mode sooo idk maybe your ronin-s is wonky
Exactly what I was thinking, especially since I already have the crane 1, works amazing but still have the same problems that you described in this video
Damn, good find. Might be a thing that can be fixed via ffirmware. Hope DJI sees this! Ilove using roll and pan at the same time. new moza air firmware gives u roll option, works great with a pan movement at the same time.
I'm struggling to find the words to create a sincere and clever way to provide constructive feedback on this video without offending you. I thoroughly enjoyed the video and your unique, yet familiar way of delivering your message to the audience. The issue I had was near the end when you began to use words like "hate". The further into detail you went, it started to sound like you tried to use the gimbal for about 2 hours and gave up because it didn't do the same exact things the M does. At that point, I felt like the information you gave lost value. It was heavily biased. Simply because it's different than what you use a majority of the time. Also, I felt there wasn't enough time or effort spent actually testing the device and trying to fully understand how it operates. Nonetheless, I admire your ability to stay genuine and blunt with your subscribers. Thanks again for your tips, tricks, and work ethic. Keep it up!
I believe you lost sight of what this video was even about, it’s biased because it’s a preference video not a review, hence the title. Seems like you’re offended because of that reason alone.

I’m sure this is true, the motion is just awkward on your hands and back when you’re attempting a lower shot. You have to lower the gimbal, tilt it back so the camera and handle are vertical, and twist it lol.
this is v useful. thank you. weighing up all the pros and cons.
Thanks Tucker Anderson!!
Like leaning forward. Thanks Tucker.
Salute!
Hello, you just have to update the firmware to fix that roll and pan problem. It works perfectly now, DJI did a great job with the new firmware.
I use the M for weddings and the Crane 2 for concerts 💯. Anywhere I’m gonna be in a crowd or tight spaces I got pistol grip
They see me ROLLIN!! They HATIN!!
Creative Ryan you clownin lmao
They see me RONIN
lmaooooooo

You are literally doing it wrong.
Much love and good quality video.
which tutorial is this?
You kind of sound like a dick head. There's a nice way to correct people's mistakes, without trying to cut them down or belittle them. Even if your intentions are pure you definitely worded this the wrong way and I would have taken offense to this comment and looked at it as a degradation if it were directed at me.
And your knee caps? How the fuck do your knee caps break? Dumb fuck

They all do a good job stabilizing your footage. It’s just a matter of preference.
They are both dope gimbals lol. I think people think I’m saying “it sucks and don’t buy it”, which I’m not saying at all.
Just got my ronin m today!!
Did you buy it directly from Ronin's site or Amazon, and has it been working well for you since?
I just bought one of these DJI Ronin M gimbals thanks to your video you helped me make my decision. I have been filming for a while and needed something new to add to my productions, beside my Mavic Pro. I enjoy the videos always so much information shared that will help the next shooter.
FINALLY... I thought I was the only one in the same boat, when I first got the Moza Aircross and I don't like the fact the motors get obstructed when I rotate too much on either side. At this point i'm saving up for a Ronin M seems like the only one that decent enough for my needs :)
Thanks man, very honest video. I too can't get over the fact that it can't roll and pan at the same time and decided to go with the Ronin M aswell.
Yeah for sure!
Hey 1 videographer to another I followed your channel for a few years. I respect the work you do and the way you keep your content positive. Getting to the point why you do what you do without knocking people who work different
I use a single handed gimbal everything you are showing I experience as well. These style gimbals are great for basic shots as well as self shots when you want to do more creative shots or want to start adding to your set up ie monitor follow focus and or larger cameras these harder to setup and get heavy quickly
nailed it with what you said about how their all basically the same! good job broski!
I have the Ronin-M, and it does a fantastic job for most of my work. I was considering a Ronin-S because it is easier to travel with.
That’s why I have the S, for lightweight travel.
Finally a video about a Ronin-S that doesn't try to be an ad
Swing it clockwise when going for the low shoots and counter clock wise when coming back up. It’ll work fine.
And the roll pan might work when holding the m button for sport mode, try it out
I Really appreciate your honesty on this topic.
They do plan on releasing a handle much like the ronin m Incase no one knew as well. So be on the look out for that
Won't change the fact that on the ronin s there's no room to do the same movement
fab thefab I’ve actually seen other people do that move without an issue watch more reviews
Same problems, I feel like we're limited in the camera movements and that sucks pretty hard, overall when we already have an idea of how we want to shoot something
whaaaat they dont construct the ROninM anymore ???? someone has infos?
Cheers.
I purchased the ronin-m partly because of your videos so there's NO WAY I'm spending another fortune on that broomstick
Did you buy it directly from Ronin's site or Amazon, and has it been working well for you since?
Shot By Cyrious just buy from Amazon and save a few hundred. Amazons returns are phenomenal as well
@@nosydmedia9591 Yeh, I ended up getting it from Amazon - I love this thing
@@CyriousVisuals Thinking about getting the Ronin M now. did you guys have any problems with the Ronin M so far? It's hard to get one new now so i might go for a used one, do you know if there is any way to check the battery cycle or how much the motors have been used? thanks
What up YC!! Yo, DJI has been really lacking in keeping their app up to date for their Ronin M customers and I’m interested to know how you’ve gotten around the issue. Please share your latest experience using the DJI app with your Ronin, I’d like to know your perspective on Ronin-M’s future
Your videos are great bro! I am completely new to the video side of things and all of your videos have been really informative so far! Thanks!
The S is a dope gimbal, I think you think I’m saying it’s bad lol.
We need both
Bro this is actually a real feedback review and thanks heaps for the heads up! Totally worth thinking about before purchasing ❤️🤙
They plan on releasing attachments and upgrades for it as well so you don’t have to use the pistol grip, they will even eventually release a drone attachment as well, the rumor is.
I'm still using the original Crane and I can do the roll & pan w/o the issue u're experiencing. Just a FYI.
Been using a Crane 2 for my Sony FS5 but thinking of going to the Ronin S
I almost bought Ronin-S but I couldn’t wait till the release time, so I went ahead and purchased Ronin M. I have a Canon C100, that’s a heavy camera, I wasn’t for sure if Ronin-S will be capable of handling it
Great video! Thank you! This is what I was looking all time since Ronin - S came. Great job! Big thumb up! I have Ronin - M and I didn't know what to do, sell it or not...till this video. I hope to see more videos like this :)
You're going into underslung mode wrong, just hold the lock button and lean it forward. ez and 1 motion
The one gimbal I use that can do that shot correctly is the pilotfly h2, It does it without a problem
Yeah for sure, majority of people don’t even use roll at all.
definitely prefer the feel of the M footage and, like you, I love steadicam feel of the roll.
EVERY PROFESSIONAL USES A GIMBAL AND STILL USES WARP STABILIZER?! I didn't know that lol. I thought I needed a new gimbal.
I had a very similar issue when trying to mimic a jib shot (low to high) with a pan with the crane 2. The pan was unresponsive until a certain height and then it would snap over, all at once. I guess you just need the right tool for the right job
daaaaaang!!! What color correction filter you using bro!! It's amazing!!!
yeah thanks for the review. I stay with the Ronin M and bought a glidecam hd2000, i think thats the perfect setup :D
...dope vid...
Both a pretty dope ass stabilizers lol but yea def agree with the fact."they do the same thing"😂😂😂
great video....dig your channel....added this one to one of my playlists on our channel. keep it up!
Dude, appreciate the honesty. Purchasing new gear soon and trying to see what I should get to up my GAME. Thanks again.
Shit in minute 6 you almost broke your Ronin S 😣😳 there is an easy way to go in Underslung mode
my batteries are hibernating, do you know know how to wake it up?
I think two things you said are right on the money. One they are all good.. Two depends on what you are gonna use them for. A v-logger probably wants a pistol grip style, While I prefer the M for video. Great Video, Great Job!!!
oh yep, you just got a sub. awesome personality man, Can't wait to watch more content from you
I've heard the Freefly Movi gimbals are better than Ronin altogether.
Dude, love your videos. I want to get one, but I’m kinda leaning more towards getting a Zyihun Crane 3.
Like your style and the fact you are not just pushing new products with hype.
Why don’t you try rolling with grip horizontally rather than vertically I saw someone else comment that and I’ve also seen that is the way they use the roll feature on other tutorials and the DJI commercial. Is doing that way still not the motion your looking for?
It’s just an awkward motion, in order to get a lower shot with the handle vertical it’s damage to your back.
I have the crane 2 and I saw this gimble tweek when I tried rolling it too. Glad to see you put that out.
I think it’s a pistol grip gimbal thingy....I think is always better to shoot with 2 hands
Insightful that you changed how you were going to compare. Thank you for sharing you honest perspective. Great content!!!
Thanks for your thoughts on the use of S vs M. What do you think of Ronin S vs Crane 2?
Exactly what I was thinking, especially since I already have the crane 1, works amazing but still have the same problems that you described in this video
you have some great videos bro you help me out a lot thanks. keep up the good work
Damn, good find. Might be a thing that can be fixed via ffirmware. Hope DJI sees this! Ilove using roll and pan at the same time. new moza air firmware gives u roll option, works great with a pan movement at the same time.
Authentic straight up. You are why I love you tube..... Honesty that you won't get from someone that will benefit. New sub and thanks for sharing.
You made a subscriber out of me with this video!! I have a ronin S on order but I think I'm going to get the M
