NOTE: This video is not a stance video or a video on how to throw jab/cross/hook/uppercut combo. That takes months or maybe years to master. This is merely a video to show hip rotation. A drill you show someone on the first day. The combo that I tied in was merely to show exaggerated hip rotation of punches not an actual combo lesson. That couldn’t be covered in 5 minutes. Obviously.
shark thanks for recognizing the legitimacy of the drill. An OG named Jerry Moreno should me this at Westminster Boxing Club where Carlos Palamino trained.
@@josephcochran155 Carlos and Mando were both handled by Jackie McCoy "The maker of champions" and that would explain it. The world famous Westminister Boxing Gym was a good place to spar pro fighters back in the day.
I'm no pro. But i've had couple amateur fights. I was like you couple years ago and i've been learning in a hard way. Which getting used to hit the bag or pad without using my maximum reach. One of those fights i fought a lengky outboxer and i was missing alot of punches got my legs gassed out in a matter of 2 rounds then i got knocked out on the 3rd. I think you should try to improve your footwork and hip rotation to maximize your reach. Stay strong brotha.
That’s all well and good (hip rotation drill) but you shouldn’t be building a combo off that stance. The feet/stance position is all wrong - you should have a the correct back foot (heel) 🦶 and front foot (toe) 🦶 alignment, before you even think about throwing a punch.
Mark May correct with the back foot to heel to front foot alignment. This is just to show a beginner hip rotation and how it relates to punches. The actual combo would come way later.
It wasn’t to show throwing perfect punches with a perfect stance. It was to show hip rotation. The combo was to tie in an exaggerated form why you turn your hips. This is supposed to be a drill you show someone their first day. It would be extremely ignorant to assume I was teaching you a perfect stance, Jab, cross, hook, and uppercut all in 5 minutes.
It’s not traditional training it’s commercial and ur not Jessie Reid from the elbows out to workin a newbie to throw a combination that way he will start to fight just like that not stepping but hip sliding
This is going to have u fighting just like that .commercial boxing is not going to help u fight find a teacher someone who knows boxing can teach technique someone who been in the ring
Yep very poor video. As a hip rotation drill vid it’s ok. It turns to sh*t when it starts taking and demonstrating combos - feet and stance is all wrong.

Beautiful
Neighbors were looking like "They're practicing some weird dance."
Armando "Mando" Ramos was teaching that exercise and a few more as a basic back in 1983 at the Wilmington teen center boxing team.

Thank you, an effective exercice 💪
Replace your smoke alarm battery! Nice video, thanks!
Why did the counting go from: 1, 2, 3, 6 and not: 1, 2, 3, 4? 🤔
4 is hook from the other hand
5 would be upper cut from the other hand
