I Bought this same model of T470p nearly a year earlier, it's great for what it is. The reason why it supports Windows 11 il because of the TPM 2.0 protocol implemented in the i7-7820HQ, wich is not present in other CPUs from Intel's 7th gen.
The main differences between T470p (this top tier model) and the T480 (the top model too) are the internal battery, wich let you change the external without turning off, the "u" variant of CPU, wich have a consumption 3x times smaller than the "HQ" variant (15 VS 45 watts max) wich provide better battery life on the T480 by 25% if you have the biggest external battery on both.
The second main important point is of course the generation of the components, and i think about the MX-150 vs the 940MX. Yes, this will not be a enormous difference, but the fact that the MX-150 is a disguised GT-1030 wich uses the Pascal architecture versus the 940MX on the previous one, gives us better power efficiency and a +50/60% performance on benchmarks on average.
In conclusion, T480 is better if you want biggest Battery (up to 24Whr internal +72Whr external and a "U" CPU) and if you need a little extra boost on graphics performances with a more modern GPU. Overall, those two laptops are very High end "Old" machines, wich will for flawlessly for standard day to day usage for most people.
Nice video, if you want more information on Lenovo platforms, you can see their PDF on internet, here are the ones of those 2 platforms, but you only need to tap "T-XXX platform specs" to find all the infos on the lenovo platform you want to know about.
I recommend people to look at the X270 platform for those who want 12,5" laptop experience, it will not support WIN 11 but with a Win 10 of a Linux it's absolutely perfect for long outdoor trips.
Have a nice day i i hope to see more of that content in the future. ;)

Appreciate the really in depth comment, agree with everything you said. The T480 dual batteries are nice, I quite like how you can hotswap them with another one. In defence to the T470p, batteries can be cheaper due to them being used for many generations (T440-T460) and (X240-X270). Nice you mention the X270, a great small form factor ThinkPad. I'll be making a video on that soon. Thanks for your time👍

      6 cell battery: 57wH
      9 cell battery: 94wH
And if you have slice battery (like I am), it's + 94wH, in total 188Wh. For my use cases (mainly school/programming) it lasts around 14h(max 16h).

Hi, thanks for your question. In regards to touch screen laptops, they do use more resources in the background so yes it would lead to a lower battery life. But not by much. However, they also tend to keep their value than their non-touch counterparts so if you were to sell it on later then it'd be a better investment. Also, I'd always opt for a FHD 1080p screen as they look much better. The 768p screens are TN and awful. IMO, I think you got quite lucky but it's up to you whether you want to return or not.

I disagree, get a T460P instead. While having almost the same performance in most regards, it stays considerably cooler than the T470p which allows for an almost silent use while doing office tasks etc.. The T470P on the other hand lets its fan run way more often, regardless if you get the 7700HQ or 7820HQ.
