- The last summer, before the pandemic, we were lucky enough to have a lovely holiday in Portugal. I had to grab the opportunity and visit the Mecca of Portuguese dessert lover, the Pastéis de Belém.
The fantastic people in Pastéis de Belém were kind enough and allowed me to see the secrets of Pastéis de Belém production (no, not the secret recipe, unfortunately).
It took me a long time to edit this video. I really wanted to make it count.
Also, it’s crazy to see how dramatically life has changed since then. I hope you will love this video and that it will bring you some joy.

Have you every tried Sicilian patisserie?,It's a mix of arabic influences (marzipan,candied fruits)and mittle Europe traditions(viennoserie,whipped creams) brought by swiss immigrants families,in fact It's called "Swiss patisserie "despite been in Italy;you can try also sicilian breakfast (brioche + sorbet ,usually almond,coffee or blackcurrant)

I was so looking forward to this treat before my trip to Lisbon. And then I discovered the truth: the coffee was possibly the best I've ever had. The pastry? bland, bland, bland. It's tasteless cardboard. They were better at the airport!
