- Every dessert lover should once in their lifetime travel to Paris.
Would you like to buy me a coffee?
www.buymeacoffee.com/79CQ5Lx
And that’s precisely what I did. Here is my list of the best French desserts and bakeries you should definitely visit on your trip to Paris.
Article with the map: www.timetodessert.com/blog/th...
Choux à la crème at Popelini (2.4€) - Popelini opened in 2011, and it took its name after the Popelini the Italian pastry chef who worked for the queen Catherine de Medicis and invented the choux pastry. Rich with flavor and made with handcrafted ingredients. It changed my life forever!
Chocolate Brioche at Aux Merveilleux de Fred (3.6€) - When you enter the Aux Merveilleux de Fred you instantly know that you are at the right place. The smell is just fantastic. These giant brioches are so fluffy and delicious that I wish they start making pillows like this soon.
Croissant & Pain au chocolat at La Maison d’Isabelle (1€ and 1.2€) - La Maison d’Isabelle is the winner of Best Croissant in Paris 2018, and there is a reason for that. The best croissant and pain au chocolate I ever had! Just listen to that crunch!
Mille-feuille at Carl Marletti (7€) - Carl Marletti was a long walk from my Airbnb but well worth it. You tell just from peeking through the window that these people take their desserts seriously. The specialty is the Vanilla Mille-feuille (‘thousand-leaf’), and it was spectacular.
Chocolate-Pistachio Escargot at Du Pain et Des Idées (3.6€) - is a spiral pastry often eaten for breakfast in France. Its name translates as the snail. It is a member of the pâtisserie viennoiserie family of baked foods. The bakery is run by a passionate baker, Christophe Vasseur who went from fashion industry sales executive to THE Baker. The bakery is famous not only for its excellent bread and pastries but for its exquisite interior from 1889 as well.
Paris-Brest at Jacques genin (12€) - This was one of the most expensive desserts I tried in Paris, but it was also one of the best Paris-Brest’s I ever tried. There are no desserts on display. You can order from the menu, and they will be freshly-prepared for you on order. Excellent.
Eclairs at L’Eclair de Genie (5.9€) - You can’t visit Paris and not try Eclairs. One of the best places in Paris to get your eclairs is L’Eclair de Genie or ‘Genius eclair’. They are opened since 2012 and have now 4 shops around central Paris.
Macarons at Ladurée (2.1€) - And last but not least you need to try some macarons. One of the best places to try macaron Is Ladurée. Ladurée is the world’s best-known premier seller of macarons. They have a 157-year history and sell over 15000 macarons every day.

French bakeries are amazing. It's funny how the high end ones look like jewelry shops.
These are jewelries.... for your belly !
I’m French. And, you wrong.
It is ! My favorite is the pain au chocolat. Greetings from France !
They do look like jewelry shops. And you're right. Jesus Christ is Lord.
They are a work of art .
May God bless you eternally for putting the name AND the price in the description box
Your comment made me choke of laughter 😂 Talk about a patisserie lover! :))))
I am from Paris, although I now live in Cape Town, which is a great city for food, although I will admit that I miss my dear French boulangeries and patisseries BADLY! Go well
I was thinking what will be the prices for all these goodness but ur comment did the trick.
@@HarryPotter-pl2xu 😂 I'm sure it would have happened at some stage!
Some of my fav were usually the boulangeries-patisseries types, where you're sure to get both bread, sandwiches, pastry (croissant, pain au chocolat, etc...) AND 'gourmandises' such as éclairs au chocolat, Paris-Brest, macarons and other naughty goodies :)
This type of website seems to give some more details about it (sorry I haven't read the article, just trying to help a little): cooking-ez.com/difference-between-bakery-and-patisserie.php
Keep well and close to Dumbledore 🙏🏻
Wow Paris my dream destination hoping I'll get to visit this plc soon and taste all the French pastries and croissants etc
French bakery patisseries are the best in the whole world
Merci beaucoup !
And the most unhealthy
The Italians had magnificent pastry shops:
Pasticcerie in Tuscany
Sí, mezze cose fatte da papelini ma ok
The wife of one of our ambassadors to the U.K. was once asked what she thought was the best thing about London. She replied, "Paris". Certainly that was not at all diplomatic and perhaps her husband wasn't reappointed, but, on enjoying this wonderful glimpse into a world of Gallic gastronomic perfection, can one doubt her? Thank you for inviting the world to tag along.
I adore his expressions of joy. He is genuinely in Heaven. 😊🙏🏻
his reactions to the desserts are so pure 🥺
The French diet is amazing, truly amazing
Their pastries are a work of art.
How do they stay so slim?
Beach Girlie By mixing pleasure with food, you dont over eat , you just are satisfied . Also , we enjoy healthy home made diners , lots of. vegetables and fruits.
Thank you. Yes, this is how I have understood how the French stay so slim. Compared say with the typical American diet.
I love the fact the
French don't deprive themselves having treats and they aren't avoiding fruit and vegetables or following keto diet which is so popular right now. I have no idea why more people don't look to the French way of eating/living rather than these quick fix weight loss diets, where you can't eat fruit or have carbs or milk and bread etc.
Beach Girlie yes definitely. we usually don’t follow specific diets, and the gym is not the most popular place to move! A balanced diet which includes fruits, veggies and bread is key! I am noticing how the Japanese diet is the same, including lots of fresh fish, rice instead of bread and plenty of veggies!
We dont
As the great lady Julia Child one said: "All things in moderation."
French food is the best. And France 🇫🇷 is one of the most beautiful country in the world ❤️❤️❤️.
Jesus !!! This a declaration of love…. Now you just have to find a french girlfriend….

I can't stand watching this. These things look so beautiful and I'm so hungry.
Great video, but you missed one essential pastry: the Canelé. (Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, with notes of vanilla and rum).
You should definitely try canelés the next time you’re in Paris (or Bordeaux, where they come from).
Thank you so much for the recommendation. I am thinking about traveling around France and exploring amazing French desserts more. I will definitely add Canelé to my list.
You are very velcome! I look forward to seeing videos of your future culinary peregrinations around France! 😀
also the opera cake, i love that one
@@TimeToDessert Cannelé
@@TimeToDessert try also Mont-Blanc dessert and Merveilleux cake.
If you travel through France you'll eat some delicous food :)
Thank you for your video
I went to Paris on my honeymoon. After seeing your video I can't wait to return. French pastries are totally to die for! Thank you for your Oscar-worthy review.
French Cuisines always look like outstanding. They make really impressive foods.
I can attest to the beautiful shops in Paris. Each offering is presented with perfection and unbelievable richness and decadence. Those establishments that have achieved certification for perfection are the best ones to frequent. However, there are plenty of wonderful bakeries in France to delight even the most discerning taste buds.
Who's giving this a thumbs down ? You people are cray cray !!! Go to Paris you'll see what he's talking about
French patisserie is in a world of its own. Amazing. X
As a french, my favorit is MILLE FEUILLES !!!
As a french living abroad, the one I always miss the most is chausson aux pommes et tartelette au citron. You showed things for tourists (ex: macarons). French people eat other things.
paulo dsl je vis en France et je mange des macarons ce ne sont pas que des trucs pour touristes, il a montré de la brioche, un croissant, un paris-brest je pense que nous sommes beaucoup à en manger régulièrement
@@oceansoul80000 More like on how the Miraculous TV show took place in when all references were made for it!
Wow.. Maybe you should come back to France more often cause the video is on spot, he showed exactly what I, as a French living in Paris, consider typical French Pastries and classic viennoiseries.. Toujours des gens pour venir critiquer les étrangers qui ne parlerai pas assez vrai et authentique même quand ils sont pertinents..
It’s so fun the way French pastry shops look like jewelry stores. I makes les tartes au citron and tartes au fraises pretty often. They’re delicious.
"The Best Desert & Bakeries" vlog I have ever been.
Covers all the classics with great visuals but also covers the where and, just as important, the why.
Awesome Work! Merci mille fois.
I really wanna be a pastry chef and I wish my own pastry shop will be added to this list one day.
Good luck ♥️
@@kikems7388 thank you
I will go to your shop :)
Feels like spend my entire month salary just eating dessert in 6 mins
They are actually between 3 to 12€
@@SayMendes And cheap in the rest of the country. Probably better to in many places
4:02 So happy that Jacques Genin is still here, they have nice chocolat chaud.
...and the best C.B.S. in the world.
Les éclairs look so beautiful and well garnished like some types of accessories, not desserts. Love them all. Thanks.
I have already tried them and they are to die for... Christophe Adam is one of the Best pastry chef in France !
Aux Merveilleux de Fred was Wonderful! So beautiful and memorable, too, for such a small space!
Your channel is amazing. How is it you only have under 6,000 subscribers? Not fair. Not fair at all. Thank you for this excellent, excellent video of French desserts.
His heavy Russian accent heavy on the ears !
I will be visiting France for the first time in September. Definitely will be trying out most of these places. Thank you so much for a great video!

Amazing! I can’t wait until I can get back to Paris to hit all of these places!!
This was the first time I laid my eyes upon a "Paris-Brest" and I'm not ashamed to say that I felt a tickle between my legs. It looks amazing.
I’m French and it’s my absolute favorite dessert!🤤
And I’m not the only one, because it’s on of the 10 favorite dessert for French people too. It’s absolutely amazing. If you like Chou and the hazelnut praline you will fall in love. And the recipe from Philippe conticini is really the best (if you don’t messed up, of course)😅

Laduree is my absolute heaven. My first visit I went through the doors and stood gazing around me 💕💕🥰
Very beautiful and so great video of the lovely and great city of Paris
I am French I live in Paris since 58 years and I never eat anyone of this pâtisseries. But bakery in the corner of my street do the same very good , probably less expensive.
Hi, probably you can share with us what usually Parisian eat for breakfast? Do you eat croissant or baguette every day?
@@crashcox absolutly not
It seems the French look at pastries as a part of life. In the states, eating a pastry people make you feel guilty, like "it's a treat, every once in a while ". Yet than they eat fast food and boxed food regularly.
@@crashcox Hello! As a french person, I can tell you we dont usually eat that, but it depends on your family, for some people, eating croissants on sunday mornings can be some kind of tradition! As for baguettes (bread in general), I know that when im at parents place during holidays or weekends, they usually buy it everyday (especially when my grandmother is around) but I almost never eat it on my own (but I absolutely LOVE it). As for the patisseries, its mostly a pleasure we like to have from time to time, and it can be because there is a birthday, you’re invited to a friend’s place for dinner so you’re bringing dessert (or inviting them at your place), family meeting or just because they are so damn good and you want to enjoy them😂
@@crashcox Oh and for breakfast nowadays people are pretty basic, it could be bread (or toast) with butter, jam or something else like nutella, lots of people eat cereals as well, some like to have a savory breakfast, some just dont eat any breakfast, there is no food rule on that, but the culture is that usually breakfast is about having something sweet. I personally dont really eat breakfast, but I enjoy both sweet and savory, but if I have time or want a breakfast, its probably be more savory than sweet.
True story i put a video to see the dessert i had tried the first time in paris and thats the one you start your video with Popelini so so amazing will definitely go to these places on my next visit !
I just added at least four of these to my “must try in November” list!
My goodness, they all look so good!!
Haha. They all also taste amazing 😀
Omg!!! All Looks so yum!!
I wish that I saw your video prior to visiting Paris. Some of the places I visited, and others I wish I saw here before visiting. Great video!
Ahhh i can already smell the baked breads in those shop

Don't ever stop making videos! Quality content! :)
The best coffee eclair of Paris is from Le Moulin de la Vierge
Thanks for the tips! I'm currently in Paris and would love to try those out while I'm here.
Honestly, I'm sat here and my mouth is watering
A man after my own stomach: DESSERTS! My favorite part of any meal. You selected some wonderful patisseries, all of which I must try next time I am in Paris.
Awesome video dude! I love your work - always great content well shot and researched. I'd better start planning my next trip to Paris...
Thank you
Well, if i had to choose, I think would like to try every single one🤣
Thank you .
Lot of knowledge .
thank you for your recommendations!
my mouth is salivating !!!OMG
You need to post more often! Your channel is awesome.
I want this guy’s job
Going to Le merveilleux de Fred and eat a brioche, seams strange to me. That brand is well known for their "Merveilleux" (their speciality) which is a pastry made from meringue and whipped cream coated with chocolate flakes... You can find brioches in many places as their are (like croissants and pains au chocolat) one of the french specialities...
Your videos are mouth-watering. Hope you had great time in Paris...
Wow looks so delicious 😋 thanks for sharing the description very helpful planning to visit though
I am Love it the bread so much can not life if eat bread everyday. This is the delicious bread n so very2 crispy perfect Product. I am like your video in Paris n wait your next video 😘😘

Sir,
An amazing video. I love cakes and see that you also do. I truly appreciate how much you relish each bite of those mouthwatering pastries. I lust after sweets and wish I do get a chance to taste these desserts.
Thank you so much for your neat and excellent review.
Love from India.
This was a great video, informative but brief - thank you! Especially enjoyed seeing your different honest reactions to the food - not exaggerated for the camera like some other more established channels:) Would love to see the same for savoury snacks (eg. Delicatessen food, sandwiches, bistro food, cheese, etc), and maybe even meals at different price points.
Merci beaucoup mon ami. Greetings from Brownsville , Tx USA
Thank you for bringing me closer to Paris. I would love to move to France and learn how to bake.
You're welcome in France :)
