It looks like sipping/drinking chocolate, which is very creamy, thick and rich. I can’t imagine drinking as much as was served in the video though. Normally sipping chocolate is served in very small amounts. It’s super delicious and doesn’t taste like just melted chocolate.
Looks like an Italian hot chocolate (part custard) that Carluccios (RIP) used to do in small cups as it was incredibly rich. It was awesome esp when you dipped in a croissant or some such. The amount in those huge bowl cups would seriously challenge most individuals....And if I do say so myself, I am pretty adept at shovelling fair quantities of the sweet and rich! Happy Hot Chocolate hunting.
Italian hot chocolate is amazing. It's like a slightly thinner American chocolate pudding, and is challenging to drink in quantities as much as thinner hot cocoa. Also doesn't help that it's rich. But if you serve it with brioche bread to dip in, it makes a great desert.

Having tried all these , the hot cocoa from Dark Sugar is the best 🤤 the one from Said is melted chocolate rather than hot cocoa and the service was bad lol
I've only tried the Chin Chin club marshmallow hot chocolate and like he said, it's more of a desert. It is nice but It's also massively sickly and not something you can enjoy over a long time.
@Lamar Elgamal oh yeah thats right, they have the biscottis but probably more for coffee. churros is more like a spanish or french thing but i know what you meant since you get recommended videos like those or like these depending on what you watch first.
I don't know if it's a cultural thing but as a French, I don't know why they even used the word "luxurious", it has a whole other meaning to me and it's not really the appropriate word to describe a hot chocolate, even a fancy one imo. 😐
Bruh when I was in elementary School we would always watch the polar Express and when the hot chocolate scene came on the teacher would always give us hot chocolate.
Dark Sugars looks like a place I'd make as my once a week go to, Said Dal looks like the place I'd go to experience something that's less traditional to the locals on purpose, which sounds fun. Mamasons is the place I'd visit for a more cultural shift and experience (not to take away any of the culture behind the previous two) and Chin Chin Labs looks like the place I'd reserve for a special occasion. I don't care much about having to always look and feel classy and privy all the time with desserts. If all we have is one life, I don't want something like being served a dramatically messy cup of chocolate stopping me from enjoying it.
Yam (ube) and chocolate are two very different things. Philippines does have a native chocolate and it's called Tableya.. it's very bitter...but very delicious, stirred into full cream milk in a clay pot thingi. It is paired with coconut milk-cooked sticky rice and fresh mangoes. 🤤
Yeah, i’m from the Philippines and we make Tableya hot chocolate by boiling it in milk until it melts. Idk why they added the ube drink when it didn’t have hot chocolate’s important part. THE MILK/DARK CHOCOLATE!
Pathfinder With a polished grapple here's the thing, I would do something to make it look nice, but not to the point of wasting hot chocolate and making customers have a not very convenient experience
you could always make it. the dark sugar one is hot chocolate with homemade whip cream and then shavings of various chocolate flavors dumped on top. the said dal one being italian gives a melted chocolate and hazelnut desert approach, either make something similar or just find italian desert that such is based off of. the mamas son one mentioned a lot in the replies is a somewhat popular asian desert (supposedly mostly and originally philippine) and despite it probably shown in the video as having the milk and cream mixture heated, many are saying supposedly that its actually cold but this is in london and considered to be hot chocolate (they even state it to be for the winter). the chin chin desert club one is just a rich hot chocolate (like taking the idea of said dal but with the originality of dark sugars approach to basic hot chocolate, and then make a part of it special like marshmellow) and then adding a big blog of like fresh marshmellow fluff or melted marshmellow (instead of smaller regular marshmellow with whip cream or the idea of whip cream on hot chocolate in general), and then instantly browning/toasting/caramelizing it to give a slight soft outer crunch and inner melted marshmellow, with a certain flavor powder on top which they use cocoa powder.
Everyone talking about how expensive they are, but chin chin is such a great deal considering the thoughtfulness and work that goes into handcrafting the beverage components
Said dal looked pretty much only like chocolate ganache and melted Nutella. With that said, chin chin labs looks more of my taste but to each everyone’s own.
Humancinnabon Same. I would get everything shown, but nothing compliments hot chocolate like gooey marshmallows do. Chin Chin version looked fantastic.
I haven’t had all of these but I did have the one from chin chin some months ago. It was delicious but the chocolate is quite bitter which can be filling after drinking it for a while. However it was still very good so I absolutely recommend it! Especially on a cold day in winter
Everyone is being so hard on SAID but the different flavors of the chocolate against the main is just SO dreamy. I go every time I go to London. Also I've met the owner he is a delight!! Dark Sugars is tried last time I was there and was soooo in love too.

They did heat it up and they added white chocolate?
Aubrey Warren technically white chocolate isn’t chocolate cuz it doesn’t have enough cocoa butter in it

It’s hot?? Can’t argue about the cocoa part
London is the best city in the world, great cosmopolitan cultural mix, my favourite city and being Scottish this is not easy to write.
The second one just looks like melted chocolate
I agree. It’s the same thickness as the chocolate they poured on the outside😭
Its not. Here in italy, the hot chocolate is thicker than U.S. hot chocolate and its better
Italian hot chocolate is amazing. It's like a slightly thinner American chocolate pudding, and is challenging to drink in quantities as much as thinner hot cocoa. Also doesn't help that it's rich. But if you serve it with brioche bread to dip in, it makes a great desert.
is no one going to talk about how overpriced these are

Everyone in the comments judging the chocolate.
Little did they know a year later they would dream to even be allowed to visit one of these shops...
you could always make it. the dark sugar one is hot chocolate with homemade whip cream and then shavings of various chocolate flavors dumped on top. the said dal one being italian gives a melted chocolate and hazelnut desert approach, either make something similar or just find italian desert that such is based off of. the mamas son one mentioned a lot in the replies is a somewhat popular asian desert (supposedly mostly and originally philippine) and despite it probably shown in the video as having the milk and cream mixture heated, many are saying supposedly that its actually cold but this is in london and considered to be hot chocolate (they even state it to be for the winter). the chin chin desert club one is just a rich hot chocolate (like taking the idea of said dal but with the originality of dark sugars approach to basic hot chocolate, and then make a part of it special like marshmellow) and then adding a big blog of like fresh marshmellow fluff or melted marshmellow (instead of smaller regular marshmellow with whip cream or the idea of whip cream on hot chocolate in general), and then instantly browning/toasting/caramelizing it to give a slight soft outer crunch and inner melted marshmellow, with a certain flavor powder on top which they use cocoa powder.
