@@CammiesGarage Yes, thank you for following up. I managed to find the video you made. It seems pretty straight forward. I haven't made any segmented pieces for my channel yet, but was thinking that I would need a thickness planer or large sanding disk for when I did. All the best, Rob.
Hello, how much time does it take to make a spoon and knive? And how do i treat the wood so that it does suck water, is there a special oil or something? I just like the idea of making my own haha
I can make a utensil in a few hours. Oil will normally protect wood from liquids. I use butcher's block conditioner for wooden things meant for use in the kitchen. Good luck!
William Ellis I would say yes and no.. yes because skateboards are make out of maple. No because it’s dyed maple. You just don’t know what kind of dye it is.. But some one correct me if I’m wrong..
Those are terrific and you can turn good stuff out so quickly - very impressive! Cheers mate!
Thank you, Mark.
So much interesting work, thank you, I'll try to do it with my wood 🎉🎉🎉
Good luck!
@@CammiesGarage thank you very much.
Lovely utensils Cammie!
Thanks, Jolien!
Cammie they are just amazing and fantastic.
Thanks a lot, Kobie.
Man u churned them things out. They all look great 👍
Thank you. The most difficult part was carving out the bowl of the spoon. I will make them shallower if I make them in the future.
Those spoons tuned out well. I also really liked your lathe based sanding wheel...I hope to find a 'how to' in your video catalog. Keep safe, Rob
Thanks, Rob. I have a video of how I made the sanding disk, if that is what you meant.

That's so awesome! Can you tell me what attachments you used for the dremmel tool?
I have Saburrtooth carving burrs. www.saburrtooth.com
@@CammiesGarage Thank you!
You could cater Valhalla with them bad boys.
Very good and precise work - good luck :)
Have you ever used a mini rotary tool if yes which one is the best for not a lot of money
I often use a small rotary tool. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the variety of tools out there, sorry.
Have you ever used Caron and Doucet wood oil if not can you use it in an upcoming video please
I have never heard of that product, sorry.
Nice Work!
Thank you.
I like it all!
Thank you, Frankie.
As a beginner spoon maker what is the best cheap wood to use that you can get in Canada
Maple is a good wood for spoons that is readily available in my motherland.
❤❤❤
Very nice man, you selling em?
Thank you. I sell my work at cammiesgarage.com.

Which kind of polish have you used
I used butcher's block conditioner, which is a mixture of mineral oil and waxes.
What do you use to make them food safe?
I use butcher's block conditioner, which is a mix of mineral oil and waxes.
❤ very amazing
Thank you, Sarah.
Nice!
Thanks!
Are there any woods that you shouldn’t use for food contact?
Not that I know of. Although, walnut has a chemical that is poisonous to other plants, so best not use the chips as mulch or anything like that.
Does natural wood oil work to? I’m talking about Caron and doucet wood oik
I don't see why not. Good luck!
@@CammiesGarage thank you
Beautiful work! What was the dremel tipyou used to hollow the spoons
I bought a set of carving burrs. Check out Saburrtooth, Kutzall, or King Arthur's Tools.
Where could I buy maplewood
Perhaps you could find a sawmill or wood supplier near you.
What wood oil do you use
I use several products. On spoons, I use butcher's block conditioner, which is a mix of mineral oil and bees wax.
You made some really nice utensils for that show, Cam. Are the skateboard spoons food safe?
William Ellis I would say yes and no.. yes because skateboards are make out of maple. No because it’s dyed maple. You just don’t know what kind of dye it is.. But some one correct me if I’m wrong..
Good question, William. I had not thought about that. They would probably be fine for dry stuff. I will ask Larry.
Nice video
Thank you.
Son of a ! You need a bigger sander. 😂😂😂
