I like the example of work smarter not harder. Most power carving on youtube shows the entire inside of the bowl ground to sawdust. You are making cuts and hammering out the wood blocks. Great idea and makes the tools last longer.
Loved the carving and methods. Also loved the two camera synced views. Thanks for all the work on making the videos in addition to the artistry with the wood!
I have just acquired some Huon Pine and started making some end grain bowls’-dishes, with natural edge-about 8-10 “ diameter. The wood is very dense and rock hard, I will try those blades and your technique. Thank you for sharing your skills. Greetings from Tasmania Australia,👍😁🇦🇺🦘
I'm quite amazed how confident you are with the Graff Speedcutter. I also use it but with great caution, I try to use it on a more shallow surfaces, avoiding perpendicular positioning of the disc. Still had a couple of incidents while working on the inside of the "box", when the disc accidently touched the wrong wall, had a significant kickback, but managed not to loose the control of the grinder. It was a very unpleasant experience. Do you still feel safe about it?
Infinitas gracias por el video, especialmente mi gratitud por la foto del disco. Justamente queme la madera de un macetero de tronco, porque no sabia que disco usar, ademas que me hizo daño ese humo que se produce. Mi suscripcion y like inmeditos 😊 Bendiciones infinitas.
Good job sir. I love the fact that you made handles for the bowl 🙂 so do you sell them? If so, how much ? Also can you actually use them for making bread? Do they need to be cured with some kind of oil ?
I’m interested in trying this method of power carving. But am nervous about the the safety of using the angle grinder . I see the close up of the blades used. Looking for opinions on the potential hazards associated with the use of this style of blade?
Could you tell us what kind of wood you use? Could you also tell us what types of wood to avoid. Thank You for sharing your excellent craftsmanship with us. Tom.
I usually use white birch or yellow birch because I have it in my forest, but I made some wit oak and maple , I think you can use the wood available to you.
Thanks, great filming and carving. I have one of those Graff speed cutters ,but I just can't seem to get on with it. I find it very "grabby" and uncontrollable. You didn't seem to have the same thing happening, I think I must be doing something wrong. However I do use Arbor tech cutters and kutzall disks without a problem, any tips? Thanks
Thank you , it thake’s about one day, the moisture is provably around 25 , and I have a lot of white birch in my forest, that I use be cause it is more stable , I did some whit maple also
@@tourneursurbois Thank you very much for replying. However, aren't angle drills made for screws, therefore pretty slow for sanding? Yours seems pretty fast, could you tell me the brand? Thanks again from Spain.
At last I am sorry for the delay but I was very busy. If you give your email I will send you photo off the drills I use . The speed is 1300 rpm it is not very fast
That's one of the most dangerous tool to use without a doubt. And for him not to have it held multiples the danger. That's why they call them accidents. And wearing gloves while using it is very guestionable. I use an electric chain saw a small one and I know it's safer than a right angle grinder with one of those blades. So if you use one be very careful.
The dough Bowl 🍜🍜🥣 must be made of good grades wood.. but must be one peices of work.. so when you press drough for good baking...it will not break 💔 with use.

Thank you
This was beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us!
Thank you for the comment
Fantastic! I will surely try this method out soon. I’ve got some bowl carving to do. This is less dust for my workshop.
Good luck
Just a suggestion, you could try using a shop vac instead of blowing the sawdust everywhere. 👍
Great job, great project. Thanks for sharing new project.
Thank you
Beautiful piece!
Thank you
Power tools sure makes like easier these day. It looks great and great job making it!!!
Enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up

What did you use to stop the bowl from cracking radially due to shrinkage?
The thickness of the bowl as to be equal and after cutting the tree I wait a year or two before cutting it at the lent I need an start making the bowl
If you cut the pith out it usually want split even using green wood.
Thank you for sharing what tools you are using. Very nice bowl!
Se in the description, I used speed graff cutter

@@tourneursurbois yea I commented before you showed the Graff attachment so I edited it, sorry and thanks again!
Great piece of work 👍
Thank you
It’s amazing what lies inside a block of wood
Yes always fun the discovery
You have some wild diverse skills! Nice work.
Thank you
Good job sir. I love the fact that you made handles for the bowl 🙂 so do you sell them? If so, how much ? Also can you actually use them for making bread? Do they need to be cured with some kind of oil ?
Thank you . I do not sell them any more . I put a salad bowl finish on them and then if needed some mineral oil.
I’m interested in trying this method of power carving. But am nervous about the the safety of using the angle grinder . I see the close up of the blades used. Looking for opinions on the potential hazards associated with the use of this style of blade?
This blade is not more secure than other s. Take care be careful
Very nice..you should try the ARBOTECH discs for grinders..it would be much faster
Thank you

Классная работа.я делаю такие но неглубокие..+орнаменты снаружи о бокам.
Thank you
Outstanding. Approximately how long did it take to complete? And what was the blank’s moisture content?
Thank you , it thake’s about one day, the moisture is provably around 25 , and I have a lot of white birch in my forest, that I use be cause it is more stable , I did some whit maple also
Trabalho maravilhoso parabéns.
Nice work, how long to carve a bowl that size? What finishing treatment for the wood?
Thank you I use salad bowl finish or pure tung oil
Excellent, but I was waiting to see how you would treat and preserve the wood.
Allô! I let it dry for a week or so and then I put salad bowl finish on it 2 to 3 coats
Looks good, but what are they worth if they were sold? Do you make them to sell?
I would sel them for around $250 to $350 depending on the size
Could you please tell me the name of the blue circular sander you used before the belt sander? Thanks!
That is a angle drill with a 5 in. Velcro pad

Yes it would be a good idea
