    I just made several sets of cherry utensils as Christmas gifts for my nieces. Oiled them with mineral oil and they look tremendous. Also have a few sets in maple for the rest of the kinfolk.

    Cast iron is the way to go. I just bought an old style glass lid for my SK 10 skillet on ebay. The wood spoons are gonna work great.

      Just make sure if you let them use a combo-sander they don't touch it. LOL Nice to see ya still watching mate.

    When I Made My Spoonrest
    I Used My Ryobi Rotary Tool
    To Carve Out The Bowl & It
    Looked Great After I Got Through
    With It.

    Just FYI I like to use a sandpaper eraser I can get longer life out of the sanding belts. But I am seriously looking into the arbortech I believe it will speed up my process on the spoons.
