Love that whole outfit. Those colours together are so great and the style of both garments work well together. I think you will wear that combo a lot. What a bunch of enablers we are - so many good patterns out there. Fabulous.
After seeing this vlog I ordered the Arundel skirt pattern. Its great to support small designers. Just waiting for my corduroy fabric to arrive. I love the fact that she does a sewalong for some of her patterns ❤
Hey Alex! LOVE your skirt of many colours! You’ll get so much wear out of it...it could look good with a Forager Vest, too. And you’re looking great in that purple. 💜
Thanks for sharing all the great skirt patterns Alex a good list to have. Your skirt is beautiful a simple but stylish design and fit. Great vlog as always xx
That is one l-o-n-g list of skirt patterns! You've done all the work for us! Two that jumped out at me and may need to be made soon: the Folkwear Walking Skirt and the Carla Skirt from Stokx. So pretty! And both along the lines of Simplicity 9180 but without all the waist gathers. I've just refashioned a dress into a skirt and I want at least 5 more! 😂 Must be that time of year . . . and that viscose is just stunning - I thought so when you got it and it's even more so in the skirt. Beautiful. ❤️😘☀️
Ooh lucky you, I love Arundel. I used to live on the Surrey/Sussex border in a little village called Chiddingfold, I missed being in a city but still have fond memories of that part of the country ❤️❤️
Thanks for the round up, there are loads out there! Enjoy learning about new pattern companies too :) Also with you on the cm over inches. It frustrates me when there are only inches available! The finished skirt looks lovely.
Oh - a brand new Aline skirt pattern! It’s by blue dot sewing patterns and called “the no-zip skirt”. I will make up 2 of these straight up for winter - one denim, one wool, and probably not the last as have had RTW skirts like this in the past so I know it’s a great cut for me, and of course “no zip”
I just love your fabric and your finished skirt! You'll get tons of wear out of it. You inspired me to make some skirts this year - knit skirts that is :) I have a couple of RTW knit ones that I wear constantly throughout the summer - I find them the coolest thing to wear with a tee rather than slacks or even shorts. I wandered off to Style Arc (it's been ages since I visited their site or used one of their patterns) - I always love their styles but I often forget to check them I don't know why! I ordered the Ali Knit Skirt and Clara Knit Skirt patterns (hard copy - which is another reason why I love them!) Now I can't wait to work with these patterns! I have a couple of pencil skirt patterns too which I'm thinking I might use to make up in knit as well.
That sounds great, I’m put off knit skirts because of the hemming. How do you find hemming knit skirts? I’m put off making one in case it’s too wavy. 👩🏻🦰😁
@@AlexJudgeSews I only wear knit skirts to be honest - my favourite have ruching (sp?) down the sides which I really like. I have a Coverstitch machine so hemming on everything is super easy :) A twin needle does much the same thing - I always use a hemming tape (by Sewkeys) which is basically an interfacing cut to a one inch strip and I iron that along the bottom and flip it up and hem. It keeps the hem stable and with the coverstitch it only takes a couple of minutes ;) You could ask your family to go in on one for you for Mother's Day! :)
Wow, so many patterns - I guess it's like wrap dresses, essentially they're the same but with different variations. Lack of finished measurements would put me off buying a pattern so it's odd they weren't included in the pattern. Great skirt and goes really well with your top!
So true, you think they’re all the same, but when you look ... I hadn’t spotted the missing garment measurements when I bought it, but it turned out fine 😅😁👩🏻🦰
Great choice with your skirt it looks lovely! Thank you for the comprehensive list of skirts, there are quite a few new to me patterns. I have never been sure about bias garments as we become “more mature”, I made a top last year and it was a bit clingy! Bridget R
Spoilt for choice! I went with matching one of the greens, mostly because I had some already and I used rainbow thread on my overlocker, which is very satisfying 😁❤️

You really are, although some of us are easily influenced 😁🙏🏻

Ooh it’d be fab in corduroy, got to love a sew along 😁❤️
Hey Alex!
LOVE your skirt of many colours! You’ll get so much wear out of it...it could look good with a Forager Vest, too.
And you’re looking great in that purple.
💜
Oh thank you! I will make the Forager Vest, I'm saving it for when I fancy something quick and easy 😀❤
New look 6106 is my favourite skirt pattern. I love the pockets and shaped waistband. Your skirt looks great, I love the colours in the fabric
Thanks Andrea, that’s great to know. You’ve got to love a shaped waistband 😁❤️
Thanks for sharing all the great skirt patterns Alex a good list to have. Your skirt is beautiful a simple but stylish design and fit. Great vlog as always xx

I'm from Sussex not far from Arundel and love that skirt and her other patterns so win win , great to support a local business. Thanks Alex.

Thanks Jo, I'm sure the inches gang feel the same - just give us all the information 😀❤

OOOO such a perfect outfit...you look fab...I LOVE your shoes with it xxxx
😘 I’m surprised you can see the shoes, they blend into my Uber white legs 😂❤️
When I don't know what I'm going to make, I get 3 yds. I love the pattern you chose. Looks great on you.
Yes it’s a better length, I’m a bit stingy 😂❤️
...and I like the top way better combined with the skirt 😉. Beautiful.
It looks fab!
Your whole outfit us stunning.

I feel the same, but they can look wonderful and I bet you’re the only one who thought that ❤️❤️
Gorgeous, whoops might have to buy some of those patterns 💙❤️🤣
Me too! 😁
🐯
Thank you to all of the input from your viewers. This is full of wonderful suggestions 😍
Team effort 😁
Bernadette banner has a tutorial on how to make a walking skirt.
Ooh thanks so much I’ll go and investigate 👍🏻😘
Skirt looks fantastic. Thank you for sharing the skirt patterns. Also, I am curious... what colour thread did you use?
Spoilt for choice! I went with matching one of the greens, mostly because I had some already and I used rainbow thread on my overlocker, which is very satisfying 😁❤️
Fantastic 👍
