@@px4528No it wasn't ranked has never been a casuals arena it's always been for the sweaty competitive scene to get their adrenaline fix that gentlemen's fisty cuffs don't offer. Ranked in most games is this way 4gen was no different eventually the casuals and the meta = equals skill will get filtered and it'll calm down.

The climbing up an invisible staircase with melee cancelling at 7:48 was legitimately unreal. Craziest movement I've seen so far. What made you decide on using the Harris over any other charge weapons? I've been loving the flexibility of the VP-66LS laser shotty on my double melee build. Love the content, keep up the good work king
Harris does 1250 impact on a charged shot. Blade also does 1200, it ACS Overloads most things in the game minus tanks and giga tetras, that's the main selling point.
ive been running this build for like a week and it's really really fun to learn and get good with it. lose or win, it is exceptionally fun to refine your quick boost skills, juking big hits, getting the combo down and positioning correctly to hit the pile bunker.

I do really, really appreciate the videos. Far more educational in 12 minutes than any other AC6 player on RUclips. I've been running a pulse-blade/HMMR double melee build (plasma rifle and vertical plasmas on the right side) since launch and your first Ranked melee video finally clued me in that I needed to use soft lock to adjust the direction of my pulse blade slash. Also have a pilebunker build that has been gathering dust because I couldn't figure out how to punish stagger with the charged attack, yet it seems what I was missing was that I need to practice the level and vertical pile bunker cancels!
That's some nice pile canceling technique. Sure is an answer to verticality! I started doing something similar with my uncharged coral oscilator to hit Gridwalker kites while they ascent or descent. Won me so many games vs builds that have spacebar as their most powerful tool. In addition, DAMN IT MOOD AND CURSE YOU!! Now I will have this chaos chaos dark clown theme stuck in my head for the whole workday! q.q
yo mood, i've been using a variation of bronze lining for a while now (switched pile to slicer). after training for days on arenas, i bring it on ranked to climb the whole c rank (i named it M'S LINING, M for Mood). let me tell you this is one of the most fun and addicting build i've tried so far. the other one is also a dual melee build by youtuber InAVanByTheRivr. as long as i managed to land the pulse blade, it deals a devastating amount of damage. even in B rank it slaps hard asf. so, i wanna say thanks for the build, man, you make ac6 enjoyable again, even if i play against the meta.

As someone who’s barely climbed to C rank with melee, I love watching your videos. I struggled against meta builds til I realized I’m going to face them all the time and eventually got used to most, now when I lose I know it was on my part for not executing against them properly and started growing more since then. But seeing you get to this point against the meta inspires me man imma keep grinding
That stair technique is pretty genius, it solves one of the main issues I have with double melee build. I still do double melees on Custom Matches but not on Ranked, might give it some times to practice some of your techs and see how far I can get with double melee :D

Thanks for showing us that it’s possible to hit S rank without falling into the meta. I use a dual Coq pistol,(not viento!), dagger shoulder missile combo so I don’t think I can work in the melee cancel the same way, but I’m in A promos! The stair movement is wild and I applaud anyone running this build.
I’m literally not good enough at the game to have the same problems Mood does (aka I’m like stuck in B rank and play custom rooms most of the time), consequently I probably have more fun in general and don’t only run up against meta builds. But I fully respect that this game’s pvp is a fuckin’ mess and certainly don’t resent Mood tellin’ it like it is at the high ranks.
Lol I thought I faced you earlier in A rank. Nobody else is that good with the pile bunker that I have seen. This video confirms it with your profile image. You rolled me quickly with pile bunker. But it was a very good play. I am also a melee user but I use pulse blade and coral ocilator. Glad to see you were able to make it ultimately to top A rank, I think you can make it S from what I saw. Howdy fam. I'm new to the game and the thing about it that caught my eye is the extension and variability of builds that you can use, I'm well aware that there is a meta that most definitely gives you major advantage over people that just build what they wanna play as. But for me tho? I prefer testing all the strangest most uncommon builds as a way of having fun. Right now I'm at 36 hours of gameplay, but so far absolutely loving every single aspect of this game.
You move like Ayre does. I always admire the bosses in AC6 and you should feel proud to be able to embody that level of SPEED. We need to put you in SOL 644 because you'd be able to handle it unlike these literal Iguazus.

Cheers to all fellow melee build enthusiasts! Good luck to you guys out there! Some ideas to try out, if you're looking for inspiration: - Exp. thrower and wuerger charge shots fire while moving on tetrapods, and the new lammergeier legs will make you about as fast as a meduim light build moving normally, and incredibly zippy while hovering. You can try using them as openers on those legs, as you won't self-stun while firing. You will also have a buttload of stability (1900 min), small ap pool though, if you want to stay quick. - Try laser lance on softlock, in range you will hit more often than you'd think. Punish as desired (easiest is a wuerger in a free hand). - the stun baton charge attack explosion + the other laser hand shotgun = potentially infinite stagger loop on lights. - jvln beta is your trusty cup of stagger on tap with free refills. Good to get that first/last bit to get things going. - laser slicer charge attack trades with pulse blade charge/combo favourably, but you are incredibly unlikely to get into that situation though. will be awesome if you do though! Go forth and give 'em hell!
one note i wanna add, those charged slicers attack can deflect and keeps you from getting stunned by kicks and a few melee attacks too. but yeah its hard getting those spin slicer to connect, big risk, but it's there as an option when you need it
This move tech is insane and adds so many possibilities for all melee build movement. I'm sure its not new news but I'm not as locked into the community as others. Just pulling it off and using it when needed vs not with perfect cancels is wild. It's like a fighting game with frame cancels.

Wait so at 5:50 with the pile bunker, if i understand this correctly, u can use the light attack melee cancel into a QB into a full charged pile bunker? Is this the movement? Ive been trying to understand pile bunker because im doing a very similar playstyle and was trying to use pile bunker but just couldnt figure out how to dash while full charging
And at 6:13, the invisible stair movement, is it just a light attack with pile bunker into a backward QB into another light attack repeat? And my final question can u do this movement with the BUTT pulse blade? The invisible stairs?
I encountered you in A rank a few days ago (EldeBH). I tried my best while kiting to vertically dodge your melee cancelling while also dodging and usually manage to with other players but damn, We danced a little but as soon as that pulse blade connected it was over. Harris stagger and boom. A happy new year btw!
Same lol I tried doing melee cancelling as well, but his build is much faster than mine and I had a hard time keeping track of him before getting quickly pile bunkered.
@@cridus_not really. You have to be a massive support for your team. There is no coms. If you arent running terminal you can get one shot. You HAVE to be attacking the same person your teammate is. 3mins is enough for 3 team wipes which isnt enough to get the score back if your team is down. Solos is hard. Teams is babysitting people who dont play solos versus a team of solo S ranks. And doing all that with duel blades?? Almost impossible because you are constantly in the AOEzone of lasers and Earshots. Not to mention dodging 3 sets of missiles
The cope these people have for AC6 PVP is unreal. Like, they cannot admit that the PVP isn't very interesting when the only 3 builds are Tank, Missile Rat, and Dual Zimmerman/Viento with laser slicer.

I quit for a bit originally because the game was RPS, people called me crazy. Ranked dropped, and everyone calls the game RPS now, even tourney winners and top players. Funny, no?
It's possible! I'm double melee as well (well... if you could call Oscillator a melee weapon XD vertical slash goes slashus) and I climbed to A3 just today (little playing time). It is difficult, very difficult, but if you enjoy melee you will be sucessful if you put your mind to it. As he said in the video: shield users and tanks are nearly impossible to beat. Try every tactic that comes to your mind in order to land your combos without getting squashed in return and eventually you are ought to get finessse to take some fights in your favor. Key word is persistence!
What’s crazy about the 80% automated system statement you said is that if they removed that part of the game or tune it down a lot the game would be so good and have a high skill ceiling. Like if something like hardlock was removed that would force actual thinking involved when it comes to playing tanks since lightweight would be able to dance around you if they didn’t have the game keep them in the same screen for them.
I hoped you could do it!!!! AMAZING! What an .. I ought to study these moves. I probably don't have the mechanical skill to immitate this success, but I can admire skill when I see it. I'm dissapointed to see the level of toxicity in the PvP community, but I suppose it makes sense. When the game they like and the styles they play are criticized, people get emotional instead of logical. Mood also gets frustrated and the true meaning of his words can get lost too. That bit at the end clarifying was a good touch to help people understand. At anyrate, it's better for people to understand the limitations of their skill and the systems they play with. I go into AC knowing that I don't have good reflexes and play builds to help compensate for my weaknesses.

I know you hate basho arms, but I couple them w ocellus for firearms, plus assault armor, and knowing that if I land 1 pulse blade charged, I can down almost any build w a full combo makes it too fun for me. I may not rank up quickly, but I feel like a wild card that can technically take down a high level player if I can just get one good hit in. 😊
fellow melee enjoyer, i get you man, once that pulse blade hits, say no more to them enemy's AP. btw careful if you use assault armor against treads, it won't be enough if you want to counter stagger them again. it's still pretty useful against medium weight tho!

I had come to S with a pretty similar AC and Im sure i have fought you with my phœnix AC ( red one with yellow wings on legs and with dagger instead of pile bunker). Our battle was the best I enjoyed 😊😊😊.

Hi my friend, nice to see you are still doing gr8t. But I want to ask you something. Why don’t you ever AssaultBoost to ChargedPile ? Especially for vertical kills it works fine. I do it all the time even on flat ground. In the air it’s almost 100% hit.

By the way i still do not understand why the pile does so little damage to tanks… pile used to one shot tanks in ACVD now it does not even make them half hp… I don’t get it.
Mood, this is the best build I’ve played. although i ended up using the basho arms, because they give like 400 more damage and i’m bad, so i need that. it would be awesome if you could make a movement guide specifically for this build, like a step by step tutorial. about the arms, is there a particular reason you use 46D?
Very cool, but have you tried double viento, basho, oscellus? There's a lot of players using it, but I guess you never heard about it. It's a really sick melee build. You use the vientos to build up stagger, and punish with a melee weapon. Most people do light weight, but I think you should do heavy weight instead. I hope you get S rank with Melee, it takes a while for viento to build up stagger, and you gotta learn the swap, but I believe in you Mood!
While it's not purely melee focused, would you classify a lightweight with dual machine guns, a 6 projectile missile launcher and a pile bunker as an honest build or would it fall into rat territory?
Punching is clunky and unreliable, missiles actually have uses such as safe poking. If you can't land the combos, you just need more practice, not an easier way to do it.

I play on keyboard and mouse, I also never hardlock! There's benefits to it but I got too used to soft locking. I have other videos that give actual tips and guides!
4:04 Y'know I'm actually kinda proud of you since I noticed you added missiles to your build which is surprising considering the little tantrum you had when someone told you to put missiles on your AC to counter kiting because it would be playing into RPS. Guess you're not a total scrub after all
It's actually helped mostly in scenarios vs tanks and heavies but that's about it, and that's negligible at best. They're good but they didn't change my entire life and myself as a person like you people said to blow it out of the water.
Honestly it just puts a smile on my face seeing a light weight not using vientos or tasers. Just hit A rank and it's a pretty skewed setup of opponents. Tryin' to get my groove back without just doing as romans do, you know?

Off-topic, but people keep saying what you play doesn't matter because it will loose to the meta. But the thing is thats only true past A rank, where players have at least an idea on how to play and have dedicated themselves to the meta playstyles. Untill A rank you will be mostly facing people who just want to play what they want aswell. In my opinion just because you couldn't reach S rank with a build does not invalidate your skill or experience. Also honestly matches below A are way more interesting anyways.

You move like Ayre does. I always admire the bosses in AC6 and you should feel proud to be able to embody that level of SPEED. We need to put you in SOL 644 because you'd be able to handle it unlike these literal Iguazus.

Some ideas to try out, if you're looking for inspiration:
- Exp. thrower and wuerger charge shots fire while moving on tetrapods, and the new lammergeier legs will make you about as fast as a meduim light build moving normally, and incredibly zippy while hovering. You can try using them as openers on those legs, as you won't self-stun while firing. You will also have a buttload of stability (1900 min), small ap pool though, if you want to stay quick.
- Try laser lance on softlock, in range you will hit more often than you'd think. Punish as desired (easiest is a wuerger in a free hand).
- the stun baton charge attack explosion + the other laser hand shotgun = potentially infinite stagger loop on lights.
- jvln beta is your trusty cup of stagger on tap with free refills. Good to get that first/last bit to get things going.
- laser slicer charge attack trades with pulse blade charge/combo favourably, but you are incredibly unlikely to get into that situation though. will be awesome if you do though!

one note i wanna add, those charged slicers attack can deflect and keeps you from getting stunned by kicks and a few melee attacks too.
but yeah its hard getting those spin slicer to connect, big risk, but it's there as an option when you need it
This move tech is insane and adds so many possibilities for all melee build movement. I'm sure its not new news but I'm not as locked into the community as others. Just pulling it off and using it when needed vs not with perfect cancels is wild. It's like a fighting game with frame cancels.

Wait so at 5:50 with the pile bunker, if i understand this correctly, u can use the light attack melee cancel into a QB into a full charged pile bunker? Is this the movement? Ive been trying to understand pile bunker because im doing a very similar playstyle and was trying to use pile bunker but just couldnt figure out how to dash while full charging
And at 6:13, the invisible stair movement, is it just a light attack with pile bunker into a backward QB into another light attack repeat?
And my final question can u do this movement with the BUTT pulse blade? The invisible stairs?

I encountered you in A rank a few days ago (EldeBH). I tried my best while kiting to vertically dodge your melee cancelling while also dodging and usually manage to with other players but damn, We danced a little but as soon as that pulse blade connected it was over. Harris stagger and boom.

Same lol I tried doing melee cancelling as well, but his build is much faster than mine and I had a hard time keeping track of him before getting quickly pile bunkered.

3v3s are much easier to reach S rank in. you don't even necessarily need to win, as long as you do good enough.
@@cridus_not really. You have to be a massive support for your team. There is no coms. If you arent running terminal you can get one shot. You HAVE to be attacking the same person your teammate is. 3mins is enough for 3 team wipes which isnt enough to get the score back if your team is down.
Solos is hard.
Teams is babysitting people who dont play solos versus a team of solo S ranks.
And doing all that with duel blades?? Almost impossible because you are constantly in the AOEzone of lasers and Earshots. Not to mention dodging 3 sets of missiles
The cope these people have for AC6 PVP is unreal.
Like, they cannot admit that the PVP isn't very interesting when the only 3 builds are Tank, Missile Rat, and Dual Zimmerman/Viento with laser slicer.

It's possible! I'm double melee as well (well... if you could call Oscillator a melee weapon XD vertical slash goes slashus) and I climbed to A3 just today (little playing time). It is difficult, very difficult, but if you enjoy melee you will be sucessful if you put your mind to it. As he said in the video: shield users and tanks are nearly impossible to beat. Try every tactic that comes to your mind in order to land your combos without getting squashed in return and eventually you are ought to get finessse to take some fights in your favor. Key word is persistence!

What’s crazy about the 80% automated system statement you said is that if they removed that part of the game or tune it down a lot the game would be so good and have a high skill ceiling. Like if something like hardlock was removed that would force actual thinking involved when it comes to playing tanks since lightweight would be able to dance around you if they didn’t have the game keep them in the same screen for them.

I'm dissapointed to see the level of toxicity in the PvP community, but I suppose it makes sense. When the game they like and the styles they play are criticized, people get emotional instead of logical. Mood also gets frustrated and the true meaning of his words can get lost too. That bit at the end clarifying was a good touch to help people understand.
At anyrate, it's better for people to understand the limitations of their skill and the systems they play with. I go into AC knowing that I don't have good reflexes and play builds to help compensate for my weaknesses.
Question; since the Fluegel boosters got its melee thrust buffed from patch 1.06, would they also be viable for melee builds?

I know you hate basho arms, but I couple them w ocellus for firearms, plus assault armor, and knowing that if I land 1 pulse blade charged, I can down almost any build w a full combo makes it too fun for me. I may not rank up quickly, but I feel like a wild card that can technically take down a high level player if I can just get one good hit in. 😊
fellow melee enjoyer, i get you man, once that pulse blade hits, say no more to them enemy's AP. btw careful if you use assault armor against treads, it won't be enough if you want to counter stagger them again. it's still pretty useful against medium weight tho!

I had come to S with a pretty similar AC and Im sure i have fought you with my phœnix AC ( red one with yellow wings on legs and with dagger instead of pile bunker).

Hi my friend, nice to see you are still doing gr8t. But I want to ask you something. Why don’t you ever AssaultBoost to ChargedPile ? Especially for vertical kills it works fine. I do it all the time even on flat ground. In the air it’s almost 100% hit.
Feels clunky for me and I can't get the timing down, comfort issue.

i was used to AB to PB cancel there is just too much time lost during the spooling while using harris

Mood, this is the best build I’ve played. although i ended up using the basho arms, because they give like 400 more damage and i’m bad, so i need that. it would be awesome if you could make a movement guide specifically for this build, like a step by step tutorial.

Same. Basho can end a lot of matches in 1 combo. I think he prefers more firearms control for the Harris.

Very cool, but have you tried double viento, basho, oscellus? There's a lot of players using it, but I guess you never heard about it. It's a really sick melee build. You use the vientos to build up stagger, and punish with a melee weapon. Most people do light weight, but I think you should do heavy weight instead. I hope you get S rank with Melee, it takes a while for viento to build up stagger, and you gotta learn the swap, but I believe in you Mood!

mood why do you use the missiles on left back instead of putting the linear rifle there and being able to punch to make the combo more consistant?
Punching is clunky and unreliable, missiles actually have uses such as safe poking.
If you can't land the combos, you just need more practice, not an easier way to do it.

Y'know I'm actually kinda proud of you since I noticed you added missiles to your build which is surprising considering the little tantrum you had when someone told you to put missiles on your AC to counter kiting because it would be playing into RPS.

It's actually helped mostly in scenarios vs tanks and heavies but that's about it, and that's negligible at best. They're good but they didn't change my entire life and myself as a person like you people said to blow it out of the water.
Honestly it just puts a smile on my face seeing a light weight not using vientos or tasers. Just hit A rank and it's a pretty skewed setup of opponents. Tryin' to get my groove back without just doing as romans do, you know?

Off-topic, but people keep saying what you play doesn't matter because it will loose to the meta. But the thing is thats only true past A rank, where players have at least an idea on how to play and have dedicated themselves to the meta playstyles.
Untill A rank you will be mostly facing people who just want to play what they want aswell. In my opinion just because you couldn't reach S rank with a build does not invalidate your skill or experience.
Also honestly matches below A are way more interesting anyways.
