I spend so many nights playing this game, Titan mode was my favorite. I remember always when our shield was down and the other team was hammering us, we would camp in the hallways of the titan with a couple guys to stop the enemies who dropped in. No other game really scratched the itch that this game did ever since.
I'm still miffed that 2042 wasn't a prequel of sorts to 2142. While they hint that it is, what with the climate change/weather stuff and overall global conflicts in the game - it's just not anything like 2142's world. Lots of us Battlefield fans have been hoping for some sort of continuation of 2142 - because 2142 was just so good and so fun and ahead of it's time imo.
Any old BF was ahead of its time and I mean nothing will ever beat BF1942 cause when it shown there was nothing EVER like it with amazing visuals amazing vehicle physics specially in aircraft, huge player number with modded servers even above 100 players, we could control the HUGE battleships, submarine, aircraft carrier, big maps, it was just to a whole new level of multiplayer for back in 2002. Even though I totally preferred BF2 and played it far more but it all came from 1942 1st, however I can't say I ever liked BF Vietnam after BF1942, I just stayed on 1942 until BF2... EDIT: forgot to say that the old Battlefront games on BF2 game engine were also pretty epic and followed the same formula but in a Star Wars theme😎
Funny you uploaded this video 2 days ago. This game just randomly popped in my mind after so many years and I was thinking about doing some research if it was still playable, but maybe I'll just see BF2 instead. Shame, 2142 is probably my favorite PC game of all time.
Can't say I ever loved it, I kept my self on BF2 until BF3 specially the damn amazing WW2 mod Forgotten Hope 2 was one of the most complete WWII experiences to this day. But BF2142 had the huge spaceships which we could get inside the enemy spaceship and that sure was pretty damn epic.
TITAN MODE is by far the best Mode Battlefield has ever had... I feel sorry for anybody who didnt have the chance to play it when it was released... Titan mode has never been recreated in any game I have played since.
Unless the playerbase has suddenly quadrupled in the last few months, I doubt that very much. I've played on all servers on multiple days and various times over a period of one month and the best I could find in one server at the same time was 8 actual players. The rest were bots.

They should make it free to play, they could use the good PR, I wrote them off the way they treated this game and its player base particularly the direction the newer games took 😴

Like, look at Planetside 2 and how that ass game got people to play P1 Resurgence or whatever. Same with Titanfall, when the TF|2 servers went shitfan, Northstar was birthed and IcePick After to the the TF|1 equivalent. I was so ready to see this game flourish when twenty fourty shit went tits up, but seems like the Combined Arms Market is more saturated that I thought... But... Battlebit doesn't have Shotguns Arma 3 doesn't controller well + Vehicles Suck Arma Reforger Isn't Complete and full of Recruiters Planetsid- AHAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAAAAA lmao get that shit right out of my face Titanfall 2 isn't even technically Combined Arms Angles Fall First is too "OG Battlefront 2" and also straight up not as dope Roblocks will never be on my computer Helldivers 2 isn't even combined arms either... Fuck. Fuck It! What's so hard about Titan Mode (As seen in 2142) that makes it impossible for other companies to match? Why can't we do this in Unreal?

The playerbase is split between Reclamation and Novgames but having 30-40+ players during peak hours (Saturday/Sunday)
