I played Battlefield 2142 over the weekend and this 1 ROUND made me realise how....bad 2042 is, anyway. Enjoy!

This is the sad truth, as a guy who have bought 2042 I barely played it for like 40 min and I jumped right back in BF4. Now I am more interested in trying 2142 and go back 15 years ago with BF2.
2042 is the worst bf for sure.
I still play BF 2 with DICE DLC and user maps like Allied Intent...awesome game...just watch out for Artillery in your area!
I kinda dislike the setting, its kinda wishful thinking and its always russia vs the west or the US yet again. And it doesn't make sense that Russia leads the Pan Asian coalition, tbh it should be china. Russia, not only a has been super power but it is also not even asian, it just doesn't make sense. Thou Pan Asian coalition is kinda a good lore when expanded upon as its very interesting how asian states would solve their problems with each other. EU countries nowadays rarely have any problems so its gonna be easier for them to team up.

The action, the sounds. My god, I had so much fun in that core room.

They likely get paid by studios to play their games. Nobody "popular" will likely play this gem.
Man sometimes I wish I was popular so that I could bring dead games back to life.
Let's all take a moment and appreciate that we got to experience a little piece of when PC games were the best they are ever going to be. We were a part of that. We all spent way too much time on the things sure, but at least we did not miss such a special time in history. I do consider these games to be art, maybe not quite to the degree of a carravaggio painting but a very highly technical and visual art form. Video games are a newish highly influential art form, and we were around to basically see the greatest artists of this art form make their master works, let's all take solace in that fact. Games now are 1/10 the quality of what they were back in the mid 00's despite making 100 times more money.
The scale of the game seems amazing in my OP wish they had some type of titan mode in 2042 would be epic asf for 128 player games

If they would have Titan mode in 2042, it wouldn't matter. It would be half assed anyway. Main thing what differentiates 2142 and 2042 is gameplay and its core elements. 2042 is CODified casual twitch shooter. 2142 is more tactical and teamwork orientated.
Sadly, there was such a backlash back in 2006 about the whole futuristic thing that it spooked DICE away from the setting.
Its the way they implemented specialists. They killed the teamwork that previous battlefields had in there games. They can fix it but they won't unfortunately. I'm just surprised that they didn't give us an option in portal to experience 2042 content in a traditional class setting, but its ea so there's that.

It goes beyond that though. BF1/BF:V/BF2042 removed the dedicated server options that we had in prior games that allowed Clans and communities to form around a consistent player base. This decision also made it impossible to deal with hackers/griefers and it all deteriorated.
It reminded me of Battlefront and I saw the GameSpy logo. A beautiful time

Miss my L5 Riesig/T39 Bogatyr on full 64 player maps.
i biught a hard copy at launch and i unfortunately lost it, i even lost my old EA account, i played every day after work and i was barely able to sleep for couple of hours because of this masterpiece, i love the titan mod because it gave meanings to squad/team play, actually you can't bring the titan's shield down and destroy it if you ignored your commander/squad leader orders, i would happily buy a remastered version of this diamond.

I remeber ehen the game released and i got to play it with my potato pc. The lag made the game almost unplayable inside the titan. Still it was best thing i had experienced within gaming and i could not sleep at that night after playing it firs time. I was thinkin what i would unlock next and how fun it would be to play the game next day.
I absolutely LOVED this title. Imo this one and BF2 (minus the atrocious load times) were the best. This one in particulars weapon balancing was on point....
imagine...... Just imagine IF DICE says sorry to the community and reactive the servers for BF2 and BF2142 for the mess they caused... Imagine that ;)
After playing all old battlefield, 2142 was one of my favourites, titan mode was epic and it has been the most unique game of the franchise.
With BF3 they reached the perfect recipe, B4 was just expansion pack of BF3.
BF1 was awesome but I never fell in love with it, probably due the time era.
With BF5 it began the fall of the franchise, with BF2042 they destroyed the core of the game by replacing classes with a group of the worst looking characters ever seen in a battlefield. They took those heroes nobody wanted in BF5 and made a whole battlefield with them.
Portal is good but right now is very poor, everything is unlocked, no progression, is basically just good cause is like playing the old battlefields.
At this point I think DICE is hanging at the edge of the cliffs and fans are starting to lose any kind of hope if they don't do anything it will become just another generic arena shooter.

I wish they make a remake of 2142 in portal. With new physics, graphics and 128 max players gameplay of 2142 may become something insanely awesome.
I get the feeling we will see a Titan in 2042 DLC, remember that in BF 4 theres a Titan in construction on the Hangar 21 map, BF 4 takes place in 2020 so there should be Titans in 2042
@@C_Kava You can't even imagine how hard is to make titans and walkers in modern frostbite. Dice cannot make good physics even for basic transport, but chanses are not 0. Dice LA is actually good and they can do this. I hope...
BF 2142 actually has a thing called Project Remaster that is a mod with graphical (and not only) improvements to the game.
@@hory-portier I know this mod. All it does it remasters an animations and adds reshade. This is defenetly not enough.
Then become a hero that makes a new game based on bf2142 gameplay. I don't think we fan count on any existing game studio for that.

I'm a huge 2142 nerd and here's some nerdy facts:
1: Your squad leader mentioned you get double the points when you follow orders and that is indeed true. Only problem is he gave a "move" order as seen on the minimap by the downwards pointing arrow. You do not get any bonus points when that order is specified. You get the bonus points on Attack/Defend orders only.
2: You did not deploy your parachute before the end round animation of the Titan exploding and therefore tumbled to your death. After the animation starts all the players are still in-game and simulated. If you had deployed your chute, after a couple seconds you would have seen a pin award (Titan Survival Pin) displayed just like any pins given while in-game (e.g. 5 kill-streak) and a notification sound.
3: The PK-Rocket for the assault class is a freaking BEAST. But you have to understand how to use it to get it's maximum potential. When you right click whilst equipped, you can see a number appear on the crosshair. That is the distance in meters. What you want to do to is 1: aim at their cover (sets the distance), 2: use mouse wheel to adjust ONE tick (2 meters) further, and 3: adjust your aim to the space over/next to their cover. The rocket will blow up at the set distance, right on top of them, behind their cover. Works the best when they are crouched/prone behind small obstacles. Works pretty good also in the Titan's corridors.
Sorry for this very extremely nerdy fact-rant, and damn do I miss the golden age of this game. Thanks for the vid mate

Man, so many good memories playing this game in college. I enjoyed every Battlefield game since 2 until BFV's untimely canning and the shitshow that was 2042. I still can't get over that the franchise I was playing since high school is now dead.

Put close to 3000hrs into this game! Was no'2 Legit (no K/P servers) tag collector on it as well.

Loved playing 2142 my go to class I'd use the carbine the invisibility cloak and rdx. Would get so many knife kills with help of the cloaking device. The most frustrating aspect though was the ranking system. After brig. General there was no way to know how to get promoted. (none that I ever found out anyway) would love a remake but I'm 99.9999999% sure they would fuck it up.

Imagine having a battlefield 2142 but with the maps connected like final fantasy 14 online. Like a ratchet and clank fps with upto 128 players a map, in a world of 10s of connected maps.

Do the reclamation servers ever reach 64 players? This game was the most fun to me with a full compliment of people and a commander. It felt epic. No BF after this one gave me that feeling of scale and epicness.
Sadly I have not seen it maxed at 64, but it has been in the 50s but most common is around 25-40

I miss this game so much. I wish this game was huge like it was. Nothing was better than off school or work and seeing a full 64/64 server Titan mode. Battlefield 2142 will go as one of my favorite childhood games that WILL never be revived unfortunely--just like world of warcraft. We can try... but nothing will bring back that nostalgia.

i think all the detali in the new graphics make it most usable for sniper and machines`` in most new game with large arenas. i always kill top 5 on old series, but now trees and plants and stuff make me not se my target. well must be me sux adapt to that xD. valorent is more easy for me. i cant get shoot from 360 degrees on a super big map

I've never been into 2142. I thoroughly enjoyed Battlefield 2, 3, 5, but just could never get into 2142. Maybe the futuristic setting isn't my thing.

Oh man! In my opinion, this has been THE GREATEST game I’ve played online (and, for a guilty pleasure, I turned off this game’s music and played the Mercenaries OST on repeat! What can I say? This is better play, that was better music!😉👍)
