It would be great to see a follow-up on ganging the vents before they go through the roof. With so much solar going on roofs these days, and the time and cost of even simple fittings like roof vents/flashing, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around why so many homes still have so many roof penetrations just for vents, especially when they're very close together.

How do you typicaly trim those exterior cleanouts in the siding?

With a round hole, maybe about 1/8 of an inch larger and then fill gap around clean out with an approved sealant or caulking.

Great Videos! I will two levels with 2 bathrooms in my cabin as well as laundry and one kitchen sink. With all 8 fixtures being separate 1.5 inch dry vents, can I combine into one vent for going through the roof, and if so, should this roof vent be 2 or 3 inch? I am in cold northern Minnesota

⁠ so if I have a two story townhouse and the 2nd floor bathroom is wet vented through a 4in stack, can I add a 1st floor washing machine standpipe to that same 4in stack? I was planing on buying a 4x4x2in Tee and add P trap and the standpipe.

Why couldn't the bay house both the bathtub/shower combo valve and the vent? Too many holes in the bottom plate?
