THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE: You have to tune your guitar to Drop B: B F# B E G# C# (from lower string to higher string). or if you own the song and you don't feel like tunning lower than Drop C (C G C F A D) just use audacity to put the song a half step (semi-tone) higher

No, really guys, this song is in drop B. I swear to you. I was at the release party for Until We Have Faces, and I talked to Anthony on the various tunings/guitars he used on the album.
Not trying to be rude, just trying to make sure the right information is given.

Theyre extremely down to earth dudes. Got to meet them on tour and go on their bus for like 45 mins. Not a single second of those 45 mins were rushed either. It was super chill. Awesome dudes.

@watchandbamused Same reason I watch a bunch of other instructional videos, to learn stuff! Yeah, because Anythony was teaching it, for one, but I wanted ot see if I was playing it right, too. Plus I keep rewatching it to make sure I've got the theory behind their chords down...

Does anyone know what he plays on the second part of the 2nd verse both actual speed and slowed down are to fast for me to see what he does.
As long as you keep it tuned low there shouldn't be any problems. One thing I would do is have someone (a professional, obviously) file down the nut for you so that it can hold the thicker strings.

thanks pal. but why is he not using a baritone guitar here? can you tune that low on a normal guitar without going out of tune? i'm planning on getting myself a baritone guitar for the very reason. but if low tunings can be achieved by a normal guitar, then i might as well just buy the standard one instead of a baritone. what do you suggest? thank you.

Anyone know what tuning it's in? Is it B or C?
I learned it on a standard guitar with standard strings tuned down. But they are super loose, like Anthony said, and don't hold tune quite as well.
I am guessing its drop B I've been trying to play it in drop A and it just sounds flat out wrong, though I may need to just get heavier strings. I wish is was slowed down just a little more I keep missing one or two notes in every part and have to replay it 20 times.

@fullmoon197 Just play the roots of the chords and riffs. All the one note riffs should (One note as in note chords.) should be the same if it doesn't use the bottom two strings.
Than the SE line, maybe. But the American-made PRS' are tough to beat.

You don't really need a whole new guitar, just get thicker strings and set up your guitar to accommodate the extra tension added by the thicker strings.
