Hi, wanted to ask if this can do the full CBS resets on the BMWs, resetting the pollen filter, oil filter, brake fluid, front and rear pads resets, etc.
What would YOU recommend? Genuinely looking for recommendations.. im new and ignorant to these tools and in the market for a used car. Hoping to have a good tool for that specific purpose 🙏 thanks!
One question, is it possible to bring up the android homescreen by swiping up on the screen? To be able to change Android settings, install apps, or browse the web if you need to check something out quickly. Basically use it as a tablet. Thanks!
Why u show what can do this unit but didn't show how exactly doing anything serious like injectors . How I can know really will read or calibrate them or u will be able to add new injectors.
does it reset the steering lock on a 2006 e60 ? the idiot from the rac tried to start about 50 times the car thinking its the starter motor when it actually was just a flat battery, now steering lock light comes on and with new battery its only turning over but not starting, still showing turn steering wheel....
I don't think this does activations on the modules? Another must have really. Still may be a better bet than the Autel MK series (which does not do activations either)
How does this unit compare to the Autel MaxiCOM MK808? Besides the Autel only giving the user 1 year of updates. So, aside from that, what can the Topdon do that the Autel can't do?
These are great for quick access to some data and codes. I have had on occasions got wrong values on my autel, but getting a fast answer to determine if its a simple fix or if I have to connect a specific scanner is worth it.
Does this tool show correct milage in the event u are buying a used car and there is a chance the odometer was rolled back to "appear" it has less?🤔also, does this tool "erase" codes without the issue being fixed?" Trying to understand if a used car sales person has one of these types of scan tools if they could potentially make the car "appear" like it had no issues when it does by erasing codes🤔im new to this, just trying to understand, words of wisdom appreciated!🙏
Nit sure if this does but the foxwell nt726 definitely does it shows up as milage since dtc cleared so you can see if a scanner was used to delete codes, a cheap scanner can also do this under I/m readiness
I have a faulty speed sensor, vsc traction control/ engine management light keep knocking off then back on again. Will this tool keep them off permanently?
Hi, if you change your speed sensor then more than likely all your other problems will disappear..if you think about what the computer has to do then it must have all the necessary systems working properly. Think of it as the captain of a large aircraft or ship. If he isn’t supplied with all the correct information from his support staff then how can he perform his many tasks successfully? VSC Sounds familiar hence me answering you. On my previous8 car a Lexus LS400 I was giving it the once over after purchase and while cleaning the ultra ultra delicate Mass airflow sensor I damaged it, silly me but no matter. When I restarted the car there came the bong, bong, bong to attract my attention to the fact that my VSC is turned off. I didn’t turn it off the car did.. I then did some cranium scratching and wondered what in hell I had done that could possibly have caused this..I replaced the MAF Sensor and hey presto VSC was now working correctly.. still a little puzzled I thought about what these brilliant vehicle manufacturers and designers were all about. Of course they want the car to run great but if there’s a problem they don’t want to leave you stranded so they may put you in limp mode or as in my case they turned off the VSC System. This is because as captain computer didn’t have all the necessary system’s info to hand then forgive him but how can he still control everything perfectly? A bit stubborn these captains/computers it’s either a yes or no and no in between. I’ve not long bought a Lexus LS460 with a humongous amount of codes and warning lights galore on the dash when driving. They list… Radar Cruise Control VSC, VSCG?, LKA (Lane Keep Assist) and a few others. Then the next day all’s well, no ‘problems at all. These many various faults have obviously been why I saved roughly £4000.00 GBP on its purchase. Turns out that all these systems are part of the same family of systems so if one can’t work others who rely on that system as such they stop working too. Nasty little buggers they are lol. So after a steering angle relearn the faults all disappeared and everything worked well… Until I had the cruise control on and happen to touch the brake pedal. (I didn’t want to go round a bend while a slow moving car was ahead. So… I touched the brakes, no problems doing that. It should have cancelled the cruise control immediately but it was a little hesitant in doing so. Hey presto there’s my warning lights on again… (many bad words were spoken to myself.) Then to my surprise when I turned off my Cruise Control the warning lights also went out. Then when I turned the Cruise Control back on again everything behaved as it should again. Now I’m in diagnostic mode so I had noticed that when the brake pedal was pressed I got all the lights back on again. Then the same routine, turn off Cruse Control all lights go off, turn it back on all things working..Hmmm. I had a fault code on the brake light switch when first ran a scan, had a quick look see and the brake lights were working fine so just thought it had had a faulty switch prior to me buying the car and as it was putting the brake lights on without problem I thought that they had just not cleared the code. (Be careful what you assume!), Of course, yes, the brake light switch was faulty and it’s replacement has solved all the related problems on the car. Just goes to show how anything however minor can affect other systems in its family.. I know I’ve gone on a little long but I’m pretty sure that if you think about it if your cars computer hasn’t got all the necessary info to hand then you can’t expect it to perform 100%. Hope this helps. Regards all. Peter A. (PicassoPete,. Every Job’s a Masterpiece. LoL.)

You forgot to say over priced Launch. Nothing wrong with Topdon but the question is why. @@ismarmeskovic I was pointing out (badly for the uninformed) that a £4500 Topdon or there abouts for £1100 worth of Launch is just a little expensive. They may have changed the front end of their software now but the ridiculously expensive Topdon from 2 years ago maximum was a full Launch copy. Probably licenced from Launch itself seeing as they are both Chinese companies in the same village. Looks like now they have Autel in there as well. Good luck to them. Nothing wrong with Topdon like I said. Just can't see why anyone would pay a daft amount more for the same stuff.

Hello,
As a former engine builder, yes & no.
The turbo engines, or any engine with a power adder is prone to these problems due to random/sudden increase/decrease in pressure.
A normal turbo motor is usually 8:1 compression that "usually" goes up to around 10:1 to 10.5:1 compression.
Thats basically a stock setup.
There are options though, to help stop the "leak".
I would also recommend using high octane fuel/petrol.
On any car with a factory power adder, take 20-25k off of the regular maintainence @100k,
Depending on how its driven.
So at 80k, service the motor & turbo. (Hence, the puff of smoke)

And I'd love to see somebody fully calibrate ADAS with this, Launch or Autel on something expensive and German.
@@timmehlittleloud2251 overpriced? you have to understand that launch is actually developing company not second hand copy-paste company and developing cost.not sure how 1200 bucks can be pricey for a decent device packed with so many options?.you might be statisfied with thinkdiag for 80 bucks depend on what level you work.i personally like top don and have few of their devices as well im.just pointing to copy right law which does not exist in china.
What about freez frame data ? What about temperatures ( like transmission oil etc )? Thanks a lot ...
@@timmehlittleloud2251 il try calibrate Adas with mine and see what happens -
Wish me luck ha ha
Is this tool better or worse than the Autel MaxiDiag MD806 OBD2 Scanner, 2021 ??? Anyone know? Im clueless and new to this, trying to learn..
