Having just spent hours researching and very nearly hitting buy it now for one from UK Amazon store at £439 but something didn't quite feel right.
I wanted to be absolutely certain I was buying a genuine item from Topdon not a grey import. Anyway stumbled upon this video and the above link.
£335 from Topdon direct via Amazon. Saved myself £105 and confident it's genuine.

I bought a TopDon arti diag 800 bt after watching one of your videos.
I'm yet to find a car it won't scan for fault codes. The descriptions are more accurate than some other brands. My work has a bosch dcu 100 and I would say it gives better descriptions of fault codes and works slightly faster for example when I first got it the bosch told me I had a fault with a parking sensor the arti diag stated left outer rear parking sensor taking the guess work out of diagnosis I switched the sensor with right outer rear and it migrated problem solved.
I find myself using my own topdon over the much more expensive diag machines that the workshop has now and I've shown people it who own far more expensive autel and snap on machines and they were all impressed and can't believe how cheap it is
Have you used it on any newer opel/ Vauxhall’s yet ? Just wondering what the coverage is like since most tools won’t work beyond 2012
Topdon ArtiDiag800BT owner here.....they dont come with all the plugs, mine has the same plug as the THINKTOOL mini. Also as he neglected to tell you.... they are the same company, having taken my Topdon ArtiDiag800BT appart, it has the ThinkCar ThinkTool PCB. Has resistors on the board that set it to be 16GB or 32GB and Wifi or 4G (bet thats the problem with the dead ThinkTool Mini he has) it also has the headers for the Camera and the extended modules on the board.
I wonder if you could get some of the think tool accessories to work with it then?
I wonder if you can make the topdon bi-directional
Does this show live data on things like the bcm so you can turn lights on or indicators and that will show on the scanner as active
My artidiag 800 bt was awesome but following day I turned it on and went into scan and all the vehicles manufacturers disappeared I was so happy with it, and definitely recommend it still I'm sending mine back for exchange
By now, I think pretty much everyone has a cell phone charger that they can plug the USB cable into for charging the THINKTOOL scanner in the UK. The lack of a UK charger is not a deal breaker.
It must be a deal breaker because topdon have outsold thinktool by the thousands, which I can see visibly so for many it is a deal breaker.
Its totally not a deal breaker. You must be an idiot to think of not buying a tool because of a missing plug that yiu already have at home. LOL. The thinktool is way better if they add some extras that their not adding now. The scope and all those added features are very much important.
Dude you keep saying this crap about not being able to charge it, ev1 I can guarantee you has the usbA charger at home thats like saying you do not wanna buy this car they might not come with tires for the US, USA, or Russian tires.

There is a big price difference between the two models, so I can't say which one is better. The mini has an attractive lifelong free update, and it seems to have a lot of features compared to the price. The cost seems to be low because you only need to pre-update the coding separately. I think it's good for individual owners to use.

Thanks for the vid, right now they have updated both of these, and Thinkdiag looks like my choice with the mini 2. Topdon now has the AD900bt and they made it bidirectional, but they stopped the lifetime updates and you lose me at pay to unlock the features that it already has, even if it is 2-3yrs from now. If Topdon had lifetime on the 900 because it's bidirectional, I would go with them.

Thinkscan max is exactly like the topdon and is almost $100 cheaper. Thinkscan have optional bi directional functions(subscription) you can activate when you need it, the topdon don't.
i just got the mucar vo6 and its exaclty like the topdon
Topdon will be adding more functions hopefully bi directional is one of them

The thinkdiag ($70) has bidirectional control from your cell phone.
I believe Topdon and Thinkcar are one and the same company just aimed at different market, I’ve got the TD Artidiag 800BT and noticed that if you go into the android system settings the first saved network on it is called ‘thinkcar-test’ so they’re either the same company or work very closely.
Thanks for your video, it's very informative! I have seen videos about thinktool and, in general, those who make them are specialists or people linked to bmw like you. Now, you recommend more topdon because of the problems with the other brand... I tell you that I saw a video from Mexico where a specialist did not recommend the high-end thinkcar because they could not get spare parts and the brand took 60 days to comply with the guarantee... I'm really excited about the thinkscan sd6, which is cheaper and more portable (I scan at home). The designs of the models that I showed seem quite bizarre to me, but nothing to write home about. Dean can you put me on real quick… So i have a slight rough idle at startup but no codes after replacing the MAF sensor idk if it’s me thinking too hard or not but anyways my started failed today so imma clean the throttle body replace the throttle body gaskets and manifold gaskets but I don’t know what to buy for the CCV system? Like if it’s a vacuum leak do i buy the hoses or what, and what all do I need to replace on the CCV system

before I buy a scan tool I need to make sure that it will allow me to register batteries and fuel injectors on my two BMW,s a 2017 2.8 X3 and a 2011 335ix. I am leaning towards the Topdon artidiag800bt but I need to make sure that it will meet my needs.

I watched your video and bought it . Customer service is sucks. You have to wait at least 5 hours to get a response from them. When I entered the serial number and activation code it says no sales record. They said they fixed the problem but it didnot work . Disappointment .
Any chance I can talk to you about my 645ci I’ve got issues related to high and low current crankshaft sensors on it but only on one bank and I’m not sure what could be causing it.

When i bought the autel 808 it did not work, never even offered to replace it. I got my money back, but that is not what i wanted . So i bought the topdon.

The CR Max or CR Max BT is better, got almost all the same functions, and all update and maintenance functions are free for lifetime.

Yes they do as I use them all the time on Vauxhall insignias 2014 and up with no issues. As I’m always having to do DPF regen with it 😂

Have been looking for that and found out that bi directional is when the scan tool does actuation test like turning on fuel pump , opening windows thru the scan tool
The Topdon Artidiag 800BT has one of the highest failure and return rates or any diagnostics that we sell. Mostly due to the bluetooth connectors packing up. We have been retailing Topdon products for a while. Good value and functions but build quality not up to scratch with Launch and Autel.

Out of the box no it is not bidirectional if you need bidirectional functions from thinktool mini it's $50 for each vehicle brand! do yourself a favor spend more money and get the lunch pro mini it has bidirectional right out of the box yes it cost more but every brand vehicle has bidirectional function right out of the box!

I got my think tool mini with all kinds of plugs for charging just like topdon. And I bought it for lot less money from Amazon. I paid lil less than $400 including taxes with free shipping. So your main point is that electric plugs that you mentioned over and over in your video ☺️ which isn't correct because I got everything in mine which I really don't needed. And topdon looks More expensive than tool mini Budd.

lol you skipped over the biggest difference between those 2 devices and its a HUGE difference. The Think Tool Mini is a true bi-directional scanner that you can activate and test individual modules on the car and you can program the ecu and unlock extra features in the car which are usually expensive dealership addons... the Topdon cant do any of that.
Sure the Topdon is a great scanner , but it doesnt come with half the features that the Thinktool is capable of.
The Actuation test functions do not come standard with the Thinktool Mini unit. You have to pay $49.95 per year for each model car you have. Also the Thinktool Mini does not do ECU programming. If you pay the extra $49.95 per year per model car, it includes ECU coding. ECU coding and ECU programing are two completely different functions. ECU programming is found in much more expensive scanners or dedicated programming units, usually costing several thousand dollars. ECU coding only allows you to change values in tables used by the ECU; ECU programming allows you to actually change the programming instructions used by an ECU.
As I know, Thinkscan mini is life time free update.

In all fairness man, you have warned us about Chinese electronics and right there is the best example of why, to hand over decent cash for the real deal, that being said they’re probably both made in the country of knock offs and scams 🙄
I know what you mean but I must say topdon has been one of the best company’s to come out of there, all there products have worked flawlessly and not had one issue and neither has anyone else who has bought them either. I can say one thing from what I know already which many don’t TOPDON are about to take over the industry completely they have a lot of new products coming out to come soon and trust me nothing like you seen before.
Personally I would have trouble handling over the equivalent funds to that of a laptop, then ‘acquiring’ the software + the OBD cable. I do without question take your word for it, as I know you’re not one to bullsh1t on such topics + clearly I don’t wish to deduct from your supporters. I guess if you want something between a plug in powered unit and the laptop (fully capable) option the TopDon unit is the halfway point between the simplistic unit and a full programmable interface - getting myself out of SE Asia with the CoVid-19 issues, but then look forward to having a proper chat mate ✌🏽🇦🇺

the tranfercase / tranny mount is something that i overlooked that should be atleast looked at it was half ripped on my 07 x3 along with tranny fill plug being FUBAR prior to me that i am now repairing . thanks guy i bought it from!!!!!!
