This game alongside Banjo-Kazooie, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, and Super Smash Bros. 64 are my childhood! Man, this brings back the good ol' days!
I just want to state for the record I am a HUGE fan of the Banjo-Kazooie series. I just got done as of last night a 100% No Death Speed run of Banjo-Kazooie in 4:21:31. Banjo-Tooie was a one and done game as far as 100% completion went. As the years went on, I realized, I love Banjo-Tooie for what it is, but I legitimately did not like playing it. I also realized that if you want the true genuine Banjo-Kazooie series, you have to go with the Nintendo 64 version and definitely not the Xbox Version. Thanks to this video, I can relive all the best parts of Banjo-Tooie without having to force myself to play it again. I cannot do this video justice with just one single like. Fun Fact: As a Kid, the Minjos and Cursed Beehives from this game invoked a deep childhood fear within me.
One of the best ways to get through quarantine. I spent mine playing games on Steam like Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Deus Ex, Hat In Time, Injustice, and more!
i used to play this game with my mom when i was a little kid. man does time fly, this game is so nostalgic. probably my number 1 favorite game of all time
Thank you :) I think that was Rare's idea back then: you can even go behind Mary during almost all the race, and then speed up downward in the very last segment 😃
(Sorry for the comment necromancy) It's a common misconception that racing Canary Mary is a straight race, but her speed can vary quite considerably when challenging her. As KV noted, this is more akin to a marathon - the focus is on endurance and consistency, with a burst of speed to finish the race. Spare your fingers!
Thank's so much for posting this! I just finished playing this for the first time on my brother's N64, and your video was invaluable to help me find and retrieve some of the hidden items throughout the game (along with his old guide book that I found after getting more than halfway through the game). That marks my first N64 game played all the way through, I wasn't really into video games growing up because I wasn't very good and my brother was bad at sharing his consoles.
That ominous music from Jiggywiggy's Temple is one of the greatest pieces of music. Who knew a slowed down theme of a jiggy appearing would make such a great song?
Oh the memories of playing this game! I remember the first person parts being the bane of my existence 😂 I think Rare was aware of that because the homing egg cheat and their generous hitboxes were my only saving grace!
Yeah the Xbox Version I would say is the definitive way to play the game. Not only is it in widescreen and supports higher resolutions (1080p/4K) but the frame rate is also much better. The original game aimed for 30FPS but could barely do 20. The Xbox version locks the game to a consistent 30 FPS making for an overall faster and more pleasant experience
This one looks really challenging. I only played the banjo kazooie one. What a beautiful childhood game with my dad. Im planning to play this game sooner as an adult now. Lucky to find a cartridge of this game
Just had a huge childhood fladhback (I''m 25) What a legendary game this ist holy shit. Found this looking for a Banjo game for the Nintendo switch, a Remake of this Would be so lit

It’s been two years since I saw this video. Banjo Tooie seemed like a really fun game so I finally got it and I almost 100% it just that other canary Mary race stopped me. However I had a really fun time throughout the game. Thank you so much for showing me this game. Edit: canary Mary has been defeated and destroyed.. this game is amazing.
Doing the tag team power hut jiggy in the dark in glitter gulch blew my mind 🤯. With my ADD id just do it normally with kazooie and banjo on the switch 😅
Man, did I play the heck out of this and the first one as a kid. I still have them on my old N64 and everything, but I would love to have a modern port. I know the Switch put out an emulation version recently, but I’m not about to fork over $20 more a year for that.
Fun theory: somehow this is banjo threeie and here’s why Somehow banjo kazooie gruntys revenge does have some reference to banjo tooie plus even the intro says it takes places 2 months after banjo kazooie while banjo tooir took place 2 years after banjo kazooie so basically gruntys revenge takes place before banjo tooie so technically Banjo kazooie gruntys revenge is banjo tooie and banjo tooie is banjo threeie
I played this game before since I was a little kid. I remember beating the crap out of Gruntilda and her thugs. It was so difficult but it was a lot of fun!😀

One of my favorite games of all time. So dissapointing they don’t make platformer collect a thons like this anymore
Yooka laylee is a spiritual successor to this game and it released like a year or two ago. Made by the same developers . Worth checking out.
Quite a few years ago now actually, but the rest of that is correct
@M_ Rod I did play the first yooka laylee, and it’s pretty good but not nearly as good as the two banjos imo
@@kgisabeast Ever played A Hat in Time? I highly recommend it as a massive Banjo fan.

Ye same i got stuck tho
Me too 😖😖
I like how this game just breaks the 4th wall many times in a lot of the dialogue
Both Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie are two of the best games the N64 has to offer
Banjo kazooie will always be my all time favourite n64 games 🤩
Couldnt agree with you more
Two of the best games ever*
The first game is awesome, but the 2nd game have a special place in my heart.
They are both awesome!
@@jorgeanwaryoma3166 haha 😂😂. Rayman is better than any Nintendo game.
I just realized that this might just be the greatest video came ever made... it set the mold for every video game that came after.

Wow! Absolutely amazing!! :D So glad to see people still playing my favourite game, after all these years :)
