- Here's an early Dyson upright and one of the lightest and slimmest Dyson produced. I like the design of this model but it wasn't one of the best performing in the range. Unfortunately this grey Dyson has succumbed to the dreaded lurgy and turned green in places.
I quite like these machines. They are quite interesting looking. My grandparents have this same machine and it has never let them down since they bought it new!
wow
I remember my neighbor had one in the very early 2000's when I was wee and thought it was the coolest vacuum ever, Fast forward 18 years and I did get one from the dump that was functional but didn't perform well like the video describes, I gave it to someone I went to high school with for her first flat in the end. It's a classic case of"Never meeting your heroes".
You should get a DC14- probs the best old school Dyson designed
I agree
Parwaz 786 I have that and the DC01, but I 100% would take the DC01. It’s also a De Stijl. I think the DC04 De Stijl is the best ever because of the clutch!
I agree the best 200th vacuum ever
🤣 again and again
@@kingfrosty8358 I know you see me everywhere lol
Brings back so many memories of my childhood vaccum: The DC07
Which DC07 Model was it?
@@ryanwild5889 I’m not actually sure, it was yellow and grey, and an upright
@@zackaboy1236 probably DC07 Origin or Standard
@@ryanwild5889 Probably, either way that machine lasted us ages until it finally lost its suction, although that’s probably because we never cleaned the filters
@@ryanwild5889 Sorry, after a quick Google it’s was actually a DC04 🤦♂️
In the USA, we got these as the Fantom Fury and it had a similar setup but the filter not being like that. It had a headlight and height adjustments.
Always enjoy your videos Roger.humour ,education and practise all rolled into one........more fun than watching something on the tv at anytime
Yes that is actally an early model, it's a UK model and the earliest ones had the red cyclone stickers just like the late DC01s and DC02s and very early DC04/05s as well
Edit: The early models did have two carry handles, like yours has, but the later ones and certain models lke the Absolute+ and the white "i" version etc don't have it
still using a 1997 model , upstairs only these days , one belt fitted 5 or 6 years ago , maybe a jam caused that , have never cleaned or replaced the filters ! picks up fine .later dysons looked and were heavy .and it is green now ! comprehensive video !
Would be great to see you do more demonstrations and mess tests of old dysons again
Loved seeing the old school Dyson in action
I think a cordless Small Ball would be fabulous and I can only imagine how convenient one of their canisters would be if cordless.
Bruce Solomon yes a upright because it will be easier to stretch up the stairs with the hose than carrying the big canister
The reason why these Dysons go green is probably the same reason as to why white plastic turns yellow- prolonged exposure to UV light and/or heat, but in this case it's probably only UV light though.
Post mid 2002 the machines were made in Malaysia. Only early models of dc03,04 and some dc05s received a date code because they stopped dating them after 1999.
before 2002 Dysons were made in the UK (Malmesbury, then before that Chippenham, then before that - briefly and very early on - Wrexham.
Whats funny is that Dyson was pretty much unknown in Malaysia until around 2009 / 2010. Their washing machines were never sold here.
Omg Rodger that is one of my favourite Dyson vacuum cleaners keep up the good work and stay safe ✌️👍
Thanks 👍
@@ibaisaic When are you going to unbox a Dyson DC07?
Interesting vlog Roger but I have to admit I’ve always nicknamed dyson.....”die soon” as they don’t last very long and the suction has never been brilliant....I swear by Numatic Henry also using the turbo airobrush plus I believe that the sebo bs36 upright is also good....keep up the great work....best regards Mark from Billericay in Essex 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
Great video, the DC03 is my favourite dyson, I think as my gran had one and the design fascinated me as a child.
T: “I’ve asked Father Christmas to get me a DCO3 for Christmas. I like watching your videos all the time”
Can we just get a video of daisy and molly?
It's the fire retardant in the plastic that makes it discolour. Retrobright like they do with home computers. You could make it look like new. Would make an interesting video too.
One of the coolest looking Dyson in my opinion
I just found the threat on VacuumLand where you showed your brand new dc03i- you should get another account on there! I'd love to read threads from you.
I am still on there under a different name, but I don’t post anymore due to some people trolling me in the past.
@@@huskyvacs Oh my gosh it's really you haha I see you in threads all over. Now I know you have a channel.
@Husky Vacs I think what he's trying to say is I don't want to do threads and all that rubbish.
One of the most unique Dysons ever produced.
I was a kid when my family got one of these. I remember being really enamoured by the double barrelled design
Hello everyone 😀
I have a confusion came to watch a new vacuum cleaner video and the two dogs trying to get attention while being a funny distraction so i look forward to more videos soon. haha
ibaisaic do you plan to do a bloopers video?
There’s a date on the rating sticker!
I'm watching this video to know how to remove the filter!
Just heard i need to watch another video.
Thanks.
older dysons such as the dc03 and dc28 are massive. (such as the brush head, filter and garbage compartment
I was working my second job as the manager of the home furnishings floor of a Macy’s when Dyson hit the market and think that these machines looked like Robbie the Robot from Lost in Space
Daisy always wants to be the center of attention whenever you are recording
You bugger, I was thinking of doing a video on the DC03 too :-) I would say it is likely the best machine dyson ever made and forward thinking too (only 600w was not the norm for this time when everything else was 2500w +). It is the filters though that make, I can't think any machine can be as clean running as this one? Excellent video though and informative.
Ibaisaic: *Records Video*
Daisy: Photobomb
I would love to have that in the USA when they came out. They look so cool.
Please can you do a whole house vacuuming video that would be greatly appreciated ✌️
The twin containers I always found unusual.
I think why its green is some types of plastic change when they are near heat or in the sun for long periods of time. The same things happens with our American NES or SNES, but they turn brown not green. Not sure about the dysons though but it might be that.
So detailed 😍 are these paid reviews ? Do you do product review by any chance
I'm Jordan Richard Lee collyer right here what is your favourites Dyson dc 15
PLZ DO A BATTLE OF ALL YOUR NUMATIC
I like that beater bar it must give a better airflow than a solid bar. 🧐
Yay! What a great video from a great guy!
I think rotating brush on the mounth, that is new technology
These older model dyson seem to all have a issue with the plastic going brittle
Please can you do a mess test with a dyson dc 14
Good video
So when did Dyson switch to duel motor vacuum cleaners?
Daisy is so cute I don't mind if she stars in the videos
you should test a corded stick vacuum
I have.
Hi Roger can you do an unboxing of a Dyson DC50 animal or multifloor please .Thank You
Thank you sir for this video ! But until now I have same problem not to be able opening the prefilter-housing of my dc03 for cleaning/changeing this filter. Who can help me ?
Mine has no second handle .I have the absolute plus version in purple grey and yellow
Where is the Dyson dc28
Should pick up in one pass
You ought to review a DC07 Roger. That was the first root cyclone vacuum.
I will get another one at some point, but they don’t really interest me.
Ibaisiac I'd love to see you do some reviews on some DC07s I'd love to see you unbox a DC07 Brand new in the box
I just picked up a new Dyson ball total clean origin for 100$ on clearance at Walmart!
Bargain.🙂
Nice machine my mom bought the dyson v8 cordless
I’ve never showed Dyson
Do u need any parts for it I got one striped down for parts all fully working
You can use rubbing compound or polish to restore it my white electrolux microlite has gone cream in colour
Ah you use t cut 🙂
Unfortunately T Cut doesn’t work on removing the green or yellowing.
@@ibaisaic thats a shame oh well
my dyson dc07 pink was like pastel pink and light grey nor its green in almost white
It looks very different than a normal dyson and
Its very tinn
the motor sounds just fine I have most of them white / clear / yellow 1997 super early like new
The cord on the Kirby Generation 3 does the same thing.
My Kirby Diamond Edition has a cord that turned green.
Any tips on where I might find spares for these? I've a DC03 Clear that needs a new soleplate. Can't find one in the right colour for the life of me.
Should add, I've searched on eBay and all the usual suspects... just in case there's any specific suppliers you know of I might have missed!
You just have to keep searching Google and go far deeper than the first few pages. I am still looking for a lot of parts I need.
I had a Toyota who’s interior plastics went green
Do you have a vacuum store that doesn't like selling dyson's I do in Australia though called godfrys
Most stores that sell vacuum cleaners in the UK sell Dysons.
I think dyson should make a old style dyson in 2020
So are people just sending him these vacs or is he actually looking for and ordering them
He finds and pays for them himself, unless a manufacturer gives him one which doesn’t happen often.
im suprise to hwo quiet it is wow nice grooming too huh who would of thought
May you please do a vax power pet with turbo brush
He has
To be honest with you I kinda like that green colour it’s gone
I'm getting rid of my DC03 which I've had for 20 years. Do you know anyone who'd be interested in it for spare parts?
What do you do with all these vacuums, dryers, washing machines, and dishwashers?
I want to know this too! I heard that the vacuums are mostly stored.
He collects them you moron what else would he do with nearly 300 vaccums??!!
My favotite vacuum ibaisaic
4th comment, Loved it!!
The filters were awful on these. Always looked clean on the outside but inside they would be rot, and this in turn resulted in terrible airflow and suction, new filters always sorted it but they were so expensive, the bottom filter was meant to be lifetime but it filled with fine dust that got through the motor and heaps of carbon dust
Are these vacuum you buy and put in the shed when they arrived?
I don’t have a shed.
@ibaisaic where do you keep them all ?
I've never used a Dyson that I've liked. There a toy for Adults when you have Sebo's Vorwerk's and other brands out.
You must be rich roger buying all these vacuums
That looks so weird
It's turned into the Hulk
I mean please
He has
3rd to comment: Amazing video, love it
How sad its such a cood condision dyson the green made ne say oooooohhhhh

That thing. Arrrgh.
No loss of suction what rubbish. Bring out the 652 even with its one line of shame its streets ahead of this plastic bucket.
Pleas
He has
I e3d
ummm 🤔
why do this all day instead of obsessing and having a marriage with vacuums go and engineer them
Absolute rubbish this dyson
Pfft Dyson vacuums disappoint the pros and home owners by Dyson cheating
Dyson vacuums are so bad
